ABANDONED Swimming Pool & Playground in the Middle of Nowhere | PART 1

  • An abandoned swimming pool and playground in the middle of nowhere? Sounds strange, but that's exactly what we found! Is this the real life Fallout 4? Did we walk onto the real life movie set of The Walking Dead or The Hills Have Eyes? It certainly felt that way.
When we first saw the abandoned swimming pool surrounded by a barbed wire fence, we had to really wonder just how long it must have sat abandoned. It's been at least 30 years! This pool also had a diving board, which is still in pretty good condition! What an amazing place for a swimming pool!
As if that isn't cool enough, this abandoned town also has an abandoned playground where children once played, and this place is remote... SO remote the nearest (very small) city is about 2 hours away!
Come with us as we explore this entire abandoned town full of stuff! Abandoned trucks, cars, buildings, homes, and so much more. It's crazy how stuff like this can still be found out there!
In future episodes, we explore multiple abandoned homes, find an old laboratory filled with chemicals, a massive safe inside a building and surrounded by concrete, an old mill that resembled a maze, and more. Stay tuned.
I tried some different video processing techniques this time around. If you love them, let us know. If you hate them, let us know.
The places we visit are usually very remote with little to no chance of help if something were to happen. It's been said that one can stumble upon drug labs out at these remote locations, which is a possibility we always keep in mind.
Most of all, thank you for watching. Please subscribe and leave a comment if you like our videos. We appreciate your support.

Wow, thanks for the video. I know exactly where this is, my dad was a hoisting engineer at this place. We used to spend the summers up there with him and go home on weekends. Had a permanent home in the northern part of state. This was during the late 60s and early 70s. My brother and I were little kids back then. The school house was standing in good condition but closed before we lived there. We lived in a couple of the houses. Everything there was owned by the mine company. The tarantula spider is all over this area in the warmer months. Even had one as a pet during that time. Be careful when visiting this place, back when we were there we used to go exploring and one time my leg went thru the ground into a sewer tank. This was around the shower room. I'd say the name but it's the same as what they mined from it. Pretty cool place. There was a true ghost town down the road south of there. Had a old jail house and many buildings. It was the biggest town in the state at one time. During the early 70s hippies used it as a place to live. Took me back to a glorious time, going to work with dad. Thank you very much. Love all your videos. I was born at a mining camp and started school at one as well. I was hoping to see this place as one of your videos. Jets still flying above. We used to watch them bomb targets to the north of main entrance. Loved this place. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

if i can make a suggestion, do some research on the places you visit. Gives us a backstory, what happened with the mine? What were they mining? how many people lived there? When did it close down? Why did they leave so much stuff? how long has it been empty? looking at the stuff is ok. but when there is no other context, and no information it hurts the overall presentation. Not criticizing here just making a suggestion. It would make the videos much more entertaining if we knew what was going on.

Explore With Us Some kind of merry go round thing...it's been so long but as a kid we had something similar in the neighborhood park I played in. Metal swings (fun sliding down in sunny weather😂) and slides and a lot of swimming pools were deeper then.

    • @MaxZomboni
      @MaxZomboni Před 7 lety +4

Yeah, I don't think the slide was build there. It looks just like the slide we had at the elementary school I went to back in the 1960s. That was all pretty standard playground equipment back in the 50s/60s. It was kind of dangerous. I remember kids getting hurt on it. But we all survived it. LOL.

It could be that the town died because the water source went away. If the well(s) dry up and don't replenish, that will pretty much kill the town. Amazing that there was enough water at one time to have a pool that big. Reminds me of some of the remnants of old long-gone resorts and such that can be seen out in the deserts in SoCal, with just an old sign or two and unnatural rows of planted palm trees growing where something manmade once was.

Don't want to imagine spiders exist that are that big. NO !! They even had a drink fountain by the pool. Well cool. Bet seeing that made you wish it worked. Shikes 02:12 there's another gross looking spider. YIKES get me out of here lol. Gosh it's horrid. It was covered in bugs, one of you said. & Then you say, maybe we should help him out. Love your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you for keeping these historic locations a secret because it is a shame that vandals, tweakers and scrappers will destroy these places and steal the equipment. Luckily this mining camp is fenced off and is behind locked gates otherwise this place would have been looted by now. Although this mine is located on BLM public lands, this particular mining claim is a patented claim which makes it the same as private property. Since you were able to drive your vehicle up to the camp past the gate, it is very likely that you had permission to tour this site. Keep up the great work exploring and please keep the videos coming.

this might have been leftover from the savings and load debacle back in the early 90's? Developers were buying up all sorts of barren land to build on but the financial backing collapsed and developers abandoned their plans even leaving whole houses built in the middle of nowhere in arizona and new mexico.

Oh my!! I now cannot deny it any longer.. When a merry go round is " old" or someone doesn't know what it's called or its use.. I see so many items on these urban ex videos, that no one seems to know what they are.. I am like- ahh crap- it's official, I have become retro( old)!! My mom warned me not to.. I'm fighting it w all I have tho.. Take care..😋

greeneyed Lilpup74 I remember playing on those as a child too. I have no idea why I couldn't remember what it was called, and a simple google search would have refreshed my memory, but I was too lazy to look it up. LOL Someone said that was back when playgrounds were fun and dangerous. I remember when they were fun and dangerous too. :-)

SOme of those old vehicles and old work trucks in your other videos looks pretty good. Some of them look like they are from the 1950's. Nice enough shape to rebuild if somebody were to remove them. I suppose that is unethical though?
