Freshmen gang
Are you still playing?
My tryouts are today lmao, I’ve been busy the whole summer so I didn’t have any time to work out. Last year I didn’t play cause covid hopefully I can show my potential
My tryouts are in a few weeks and I’m shooting for varsity, good luck on those tryouts man, don’t let those nerves get to you.
Also, go skins
I got tryouts on Friday y’all got any tips for me Or things to expect?
@@SuaveTaee It depends on what position you’re shooting for for sure, but one thing everyone always tells me about high school tryouts is that coaches are looking for people who aren’t afraid to get hit, so if you take an L then they wanna see how you get back up if you know what I mean.
did you make it
How'd it go
skipped my freshman year because I was akward when I went to the thing where you get your classes and stuff. I'm playing for my sophmore year though. I'm trying to get in shape for the next season. Thanks fo the video!
that’s what I want to do
I’ve never played football and I wasn’t interested in it, but I recently have been really excited to watch football and I’ve been wanting to play. But im not that tall or strong so I don’t think I’ll make the team
you'll make it, work hard, outwork everyone else
I'm starting football in a few months (hopefully were still in lockdown up here in Toronto) I have never played tackle before. I have played touch and flag in the past. I'm joining a good team. Any advice on what position I should play, preseason training, esc
Im from Hamilton just down the highway from you, for positions it depends a lot on the team most of the time and your skill level at each. I would try and email the coach and ask what he thinks you will be playing when it comes to your size and experience. Then workout and do full body workouts, if on the line focus on power while if your everywhere else look for speed workouts
@@AlsbballtrainingCa oh so do u coach the tiger cats? Any idea of how this season will run. From what I heard even in the green zone we can’t play tackle which most likely means we can’t play tackle till next year spring
I play junior varsity btw
No not a Tiger Cats coach, I have helped a few Football coaches locally but I am a Basketball skills trainer (alsbballtraining.ca) and I guess also a CZcamsr lol, I run 3 monetized channels ... Not sure whats going to happen this season
@@AlsbballtrainingCa I hear basketball can’t run either rn. Not sure what it’s like in Hamilton but I got friends in barrie and Toronto that can’t play basketball or even train in a gym by themselves
i plan on trying out for corner or safety this summer. i’m starting to prep now so i make the roster. i will be a sophomore so idk what to expect
workout a lot, agility ladder will be your best friend
We in the same boat
Same bro I'm about to be a sophomore and I'm trying out for corner but I have never played tackle football in my life so I'm a little bit nervous
@@emmangonzalez888 ik this is a late reply but please listen to me. You cannot and I mean cannot be afraid to hit. If you are second guessing even the slightest you will get destroyed. You need to be prepared. Try your absolute hardest at practice show 110%. Also unless your super good u probably won’t be starting so don’t let that get u down if your riding the bench. Get to know the coaches. Good luck hopefully you get some time on the field.
I am 6’0 around 250 - 280, upcoming freshman, praying that I will make it and succeed in tryouts .
Good advice brother 👍
Thanks 👍
I’m gonna be a junior in high school and my grandma wants me in a sport so I chose football even though I’ve never played it lol
Same man
I hope you enjoy it... my favourite sport is Basketball followed by Football
Fact bro I got tryouts tm never played
How did it go
I wanna know too
All right guys so I was going to try football for the very first time ever (9th grade), but covid happened and I'm thinking about starting next year. Would it be worth it to keep grinding or just not bother?
It's worth it. You need to be in the best physical form in ur life because there are kids playing ever since little league and it's going to be physical. Also depends what position you will fit in best. Good Luck!
Do it 100%
My tryouts are today goodluck bruh

Maybe if you get more speed you can be a elite rb cause you small you can fit through small holes and go through people you also can be more nimble

how did you do
I have long and long arms not too much experience but I know the game pretty well and know how positions work. I’m pretty underweight and under 5’8 what positions(besides kicker lol) would be good for me
Im gonna be dead honest; none. You need to bulk and then you can be a running back, if you grow more or are really good you can be a WR, oline, etc
(I made the same comment on ur other high school football prep video) Hi Coach Allen. I'm going to be a freshman next year and I've never played tackle football before. I'm 6'1, 180-190 pounds, but I have very average athleticism. I'm open to all positions except for o-line, RB, LB and QB. What position do you think I should try for? And regardless of positions, what workouts, routines, etc should I do to prep for tryouts? And what "knowledge", if any, should I learn before tryouts?
Piece of advice: Be open to all positions. I can dee why you wouldn’t want to be a lineman since most kids don’t, but it’s very strange for a kid not to want to be a rb or qb. Either way, be open to whatever position will allow you to play the most. At your weight and size though, h think you’ll have to be a lineman unless you make varsity which is unlikely if you’ve never played.
Why don’t you want to be a linebacker
So Im going into high school next year, and its a dream to be on the football team. See I have a disadvantage because I am trans. ftm, yet I still want on the team, any advice on how I can get ahead of everyone to better my chances at QB? I have a good arm and I've been doing research on football as much as possible to understand as much as I can, but I'm not sure if it will be enough. Any tips?
I'm trynna be a QB too, so what I do is I go to my local park and put some targets down like water bottles or soda cans and throw my football at it and if I miss 1 I restart again and I do 10 push ups, 20 sit ups and, 2 20 yard sprints. Well any ways good luck on your dream😉👍.Oh yeah and if you see my name in the nfl 8-10 years from now and he's the super bowl champ and the best in the nfl that's me believe it 😁.

Hey im trying out freshman year next year! Im a girl too. Trying out for slot receiver, wide receiver, or running back. I know girls don’t have high expectations but i hope to make that but i don’t want attention for being a girl and doing it unlike other girls. I hope to get attention for being very talented. Im doing it because i loved the sport since i was a kid. Make sure you run do shuttles too and preferably 100 yard suicides. Have fun with those at practice man.
