That must suck. I have a similar story that my mom told me. She told me that my great grandma had this amazing chocolate cake recipe and she shared it with a close friend, and that friend started selling the cakes made with her recipe without giving her any of the profit, and my mom told me that she only gave it to close family. She has the recipe in a frame somewhere

I firmly believe that when you give someone with a good/pure heart, God gives you back a millionfold… I’m sure your grandma and/or her family was blessed in one way or another. I’m sure that there are many people who start home-based businesses based on what they learn on the internet… and they don’t go back and give their profits to the person from whom they have learned. Your great grandma shared something amazing that she knew, and in turn that helped a woman to earn some income and provide for her family. I think information is meant to be shared, not withheld.

Come to find out that she got another baker to do it for cheaper. The woman posts it on Facebook, for Pete’s sake. Like how stupid does she think I am? Now, each time she asks, I always respond with when does she need it and no matter what the answer is, I tell her I’m booked. I wasted my time and bought the supplies already and she cancels last minute. Not cool because it’s so specific that I can’t use the supplies for another person. Also, now I ask for a non refundable deposit in advance.

I also have many stories about this. My grandfather's story was the most heartbreaking.
He was from very poor family. His mother died when he was one and was the only child. He then went to stay with his aunts who were extremely abusive to him and his aunt's children were abusive as well. He stopped talking to them when he was in 10 th grade but then felt like it was wrong as it was his family so he started to talk to them again. He at the time was living with another aunt who took responsibility of grandpa since she couldn't stand the neglect he m recieved from another family. He then joined army but found it hard there so he left it after fulfilling his minimum service years and got 16000 rupees as compensation. He gave that money to his aunt's kids to built toilets in their homes. Then he cracked India's hardest exam UPSC and became IAS officer which was one of the most desirable and respected job to Indians. He then married my granny who was also exploited by my granpa's brother's wife for dowry. So much so that there was fight when she was unable to give stuff to those bitches. My granny would curse on my grandpa,my mom and uncle, all the time to take her frustration off. Those bitches would also verbally abuse my mom, uncle and my aunt whenever they would come to my grandpa's house for more money. Then suddenly so much money was given by my grandpa(since he felt they were his "family") that literally his family was in debt and his "brothers and sisters" didn't care at all. He then realised what he did and to this day he has stopped talking to them but they were luckily able to pay their debts since granny saved a lot of money. My grandfather only speaks to my granny's side of family members and they all respect him and understand what he did and why he did. In other words, they don't blame him at all since in India family is the base of an individual's life. Everything is about family and people sacrifice their own dreams and things in name of family like my grandfather. So please don't judge. He was still extremely hard-working despite going through so much. It is not about individuality like in western world but about collectivism, where individual is influenced by group and follows the group. Both have pros and cons.
