- Hope you'll enjoy these 27 minutes video from the 2019 Monza Historic by Peter Auto. It was such an incredible event that would have required at least a 2-hours video to illustrate it properly but I'm pretty sure you can still get an idea of which and how many cars were there.
First 6 minutes are just warm-up and scenes from the paddocks.

What is amazing is that these same coffins on wheels were driven pedal to the metal when they were being seriously raced. These historic meetings are a nice reminder of what WAS, but in no way surrenders the true speeds at which these cars were driven originally.
Gentlemen having fun with expensive toys nowadays, no real out and out racing.
Almost 50 years gone and the 917 is still a total blur. What a beast.

How wonderful that the owners of these rare, expensive, awesome machines race them at track days like this. Amazing that the world gets to experience them, and they are not just gathering dust in a museum.

It was a Peugeot 905b, which won Le Mans in 92 and 93. 3.5litre V10, incredible sound!
Nice to see the Pinepac Mustang at 19:00, a bit of New Zealand's touring car history. Sure the Anderson Brothers would be happy to know it is running well in Europe.

For a non fan of modern BMWs I absolutely love the bat mobiles. Saw them at Zandvort back in the day vs the Jaguar XJCs and the Capri RSs. Marvelous days. This event looked awesome. Wish I was there.

Starting at 2.55 the TURBO set-up of these Group C cars is just amazing and so well thought ,so low on the chassis /with the direct connection with heat/ exchanger/inter-cooler is really ingenious.

Wonderful video. So great that you included a list of the cars. Back in the 70s I went to Riverside for the 6-hr race and to LGBP for F1. I found that Fridays and Saturdays were always more interesting to me than raceday. Thanks.

@@isaaclyonsf1 thanks man, the XJR9 got me into sportscars after playing it on GT6 and then since I got into the WEC, the Aston was my favourite GTE car and seeing it at Silverstone 2018 and goodwood for a few years just cemented my love for it

Because there's pretty much no exhaust length to "muddle" the sound.

Yup.
At least BMW engineers made sure to let enthusiasts know when the cars were no longer going to be special, the end of an era. That was when they went crazy and introduced a V8 for the M3 like never before, and V10 for the M5 like never before. Doing that was the celebration of proper cars, because literally every BMW after that generation is cost-cutting junk. They literally put the same inline 6 engine into everything from entry level to the flagship models. No effort, nothing special, just cost cutting for larger profit margins.
Having driven the f80 m4 and e30 m3 respectively i can say you can still have some fun with the newer m cars, although it is sad how they only use the same engine with different states of tune for different m cars nowadays
Z4 GT3 was cool too. And M6 GT3 is at least good at long endurance races.
Obviously, Noone would want to buy a 3.0 CSL today accept for people who love classic cars.
