- In this video, I take you through a week in my Orthodox Jewish life leading up to Yom Kippur. We start on Sunday which is a pretty chill day, where I do some general housework and laundry, and my husband and kids start setting up the Sukkah. The we move on to Monday where I start the day by making Morning Glory muffins and gluten free challah, go and get my PO Box with the kids, and then take the kids to a playground before heading home for a chill afternoon. On Tuesday we start early by getting ready for a day trip to one our favorite places, Glen Rose! I pack our things and load the car before we drive off to Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose TX. We spot some dinosaur tracks in the river, then spend the day playing in the river before enjoying a playground with friends after an ice cream treat. Then we head over to a nearby RV Park for dinner with our friends before heading home. On Wednesday, it is the day that Yom Kippur begins. I chat with you at the beginning of the day about how the day will go, then we jump ahead to the late afternoon as we prepare for our last meal before Yom Kippur begins. I show the food we prepare, our traditional meal of chicken and potatoes along with water and challah. Then I chat with you one more time before signing off for the Yom Kippur Fast. Then things start to go off the rails and I check back in on Friday to let you know that I will be closing the video at this point instead of continuing on with more. Hello friends! OK, I will talk about Yom Kippur specifically but in a separate video. Most likely on Thursday of next week after the holidays are over. When I was in high school the private school I attended did dinosaur excavations with the creation evidence museum in glen rose & there's a Tyler trail named for our school that discovered some of the dinosaur footprints. We would camp out for a week at the state park.

I love reading Nehemiah 8 at this time of year about how the law was read by Ezra with care that all would understand what they were hearing and those listening realised it was time for Sukkot and celebrated it had not been celebrated since the time of Joshua. A wonderful statement is made in this chapter "go your way and do not sorrow for the joy of Adonai is your strength. " Praying this for you Chana and your family tonight.

You and your family have become a encouragement to us in this time. I love watching your little girl trying to keep up with her brothers is so sweet. My daughter had long hair and always wanted her hair in braids because there would be less snarls later. Do all the wigs have to have long hair? You and your family are in my prayers.
Thank you so much! Not all wigs have long hair, Its common in my community to have a long wig though. But a short one is perfectly acceptable (and better really in my opinion even though I don't do that lol)

We live in Dallas and have been to that State Park a few times. Be careful. Twice we have seen poisonous water moccasins in or near the river. It's beautiful around there - and we have camped at many of the State Parks - but never saw snakes like at this park. .............. A few other parks you might want to check out: Cleburne SP, Lake Whitney and Tawakoni SP.

Hi Chana! I've been binging on your videos since I found your channel about a week ago. I'd been feeling overwhelmed and unmotivated facing some major projects. You cheered me up and after each video I felt more like "Ok, let's do this!". Also seeing you live your life with such intention has sparked a lot of self reflection of how I want to design my life to be and what I want to include in it. Additionally, a flood of memories come to me when watching of my family home daycare of 11 kiddos I ran when my son was in kindergarten (he's 34 now!) Where I built lots of toys, taught them phonics and we all worked in my huge garden. Thank you for all the ways your channel brings happiness, peace, creativity...to my life.
