    Good job guys. Beautiful boat. Great tour. Just to let you know your audio wasn't working off and on about 15 minutes in.
    Love the way you clean Alex when you can't reach in the gallery that you love.
    Coral is checking everything out and Cory needs to leak repairs everyone is busy.
    Well put together other than the audio problem looking forward in seeing the next video 😘⛵️🏖😉❤️

    Congrats on the new (to you) boat! There may be a bit of work involved to get her seaworthy, but that is to be expected. She appears to have "good bones" and a bit of effort on your parts will reap great rewards. I'm looking forward to your future adventures and it won't be long before Coral will be able to help out for real! 👍👍👍

    Great Video. FYI, you lost audio during an important segment on your video 15:48 - 17:23 (your adhesive review & recommendations)
    That said, silicone sealants are useful in the correct applications but never for sealing windows, doors, roofs, etc. The 3M Marine sealants & adhesives are the "cats meow".
    What's nice about Butyl is there is zero cure time. Butyls come in two categories, adhesives and sealants; Butyl adhesives are commonly used to adhere two substrates together while Butyl sealants are more commonly used for waterproofing or sealing cracks.

      There are a lot of different sealants and adhesives to choose from. And knowing which one is best for what application is a constant learning adventure. Sounds like you've been using a few. Thanks for sharing.

    Glad to see that WI Enterprises is back aboard a vessel and aiming to return to the seas. Space, space, space-- so nice to have more of it everywhere you turn! The other early theme: Coral likes to climb! And so is becoming a challenge for busy parents to keep an eye on. And then the leaks-- yikes! Good thing you have the experience and skill to deal with them. Overall, as you said, the new boat looks promising.

    Another thing I've seen to prolong the window sealant is to paint the back of the window itself black where it overlaps the cutout so the uv rays don't damage it.

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  Před 10 měsíci

      I have heard that as well. The only issue I could see is the paint is now holding your window in place and not the adhesive/ sealant. Unless you paint the front side which may not look nice. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Very nice tour of your boat, thank you for sharing. As I posted on another video, I have the same boat. It was very interesting to see some of the interior differences. Guess CA&C had some choices or possible upgrades as to how the cabinets were laid out and such. I have a 1/4 berth in the passageway that I use only for storage, which is kind of a waste. I like the way yours is set up with what appear to be upper cabinets, which I think is where you put your inverter. I was trying to figure out what area you were accessing to get to your water pump. I do not have any storage areas in my cockpit, just solid seats. Also, I have two rear storage areas accessible from the exterior stern area where it looks like you have interior storage in this area accessed by an interior cabinet door at the head of your main berth. Someday I plan on updating my facebook page with photos of my boat. Like your New Found Metals ports as I installed those on my old Hunter 34. I also love your stern arch. Do you use this for dinghy storage or do you just tow it? I'm trying to figure out what to do with mine other than towing. There is a swim platform installed on the back of my boat but haven't been able to come up with a plan to store it there yet that would be easy to work. I haven't gotten into as many projects as you have but still if you have any questions, please don't heasitate to contact me. One big project I have coming up is trying to figure out what to do with my leaking aluminum main front water tank. I have two additional but much smaller tanks that I can get by on but would really like to have that large capacity available.

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  Před 5 měsíci

      It really does sound like C&C had a few different options to go with even though I don't believe there were that many landfalls produced. I'm sure we can bounce some ideas off each other over time. We are eventually going to inspect our water tanks and reduce capacity while installing a watermaker to provide more storage and less water sitting for extended period. We feel like we have barely scratched the surface of the systems on this boat so very much still figuring it all out. For our dinghy we would like to use the arch as a davit system but would need to add some support to strengthen it. So for now we tow or haul it on deck. Let us know when you get some pictures up. Would love to see your layout.

    They do make butyl in tube form too and since I ditched the 4200 above the water line and in the exterior of my boats and my rvs and went to butyl anywhere the sun hits, I have had to redo things WAY less frequently. 4200 does still eventually also break down when exposed to UV rays. So yes butyl can be sticky when you do have to redo it, and take extra time. But it has cut my maintenance intervals astronomically.
    For someone who owns property in multiple states in the USA and a couple other countries and several boats with family living in some of them for free on the condition that they are supposed to be doing the maintenance for you... But I'm sure you know how that goes, and if you don't have anything nice to say...😜😂🤣.

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I'll have to look into that butyl in a tube you mentioned if this doesn't work. Thanks for the tip.

    Dude, you need to rip that all back, it is not cosmetic.... Look up the Terms, Surface Tension, Osmotic Pressure and Sea Water Viscosity, Your family deserves nothing but absolute Vigilance... Giant Protective Hugs

    • @WildlyIntrepid
      @WildlyIntrepid  Před 10 měsíci +1

      It's not all that useful to ask someone to look up somewhat random terms. What exactly is the issue with stating that a C&C smile (which many boat have and is a usual problem spot on many keel to hull joints) is cosmetic. I guess it's not just paint but a little epoxy filler is not that much more work. It's not a big deal and easily fixed imo. Therefore I consider it cosmetics as it doesn't really effect the vessel.

    I hope that you repost the section of the video where you were doing the "Tech Talk" on the different sealants where the sound went out. I especially hope that wasn't 1 of those intentional sound eliminations where the info is only available to Patreon Members. That would be the worst.
