  • Drone Captures Surfer Falling on Shark! Florida Shark Migration 2018.
    This is amazing DJI Mavic Air 4K footage of sharks near surfers and one surfer actually falls on a shark! This drone video shows lots of other sharks, manatees, spotted eagle ray, etc. Sharks swim very close to the manatees too. Some of these sharks are part of the amazing shark migration that takes place this time of year. The sharks were never interested in the surfers and they never showed any aggression towards them.
    Many of the sharks appeared to be Blacktip Sharks and Spinner Sharks.
    This Mavic Air Drone footage was captured near the Fort Pierce Inlet and Vero Beach, Florida.

      Because sharks are really a lot more like dogs than we give them credit for. They even like to have their noses pet like dogs - even tiger sharks, which are supposed man killers. I'm sure one day we will understand that sharks sense fear like dogs do too. Just don't get between a shark and it's fish when it's hungry. ;)

    I fell into the ocean when surfing one day with a friend, I caught a wave and stood up on the board and immediately fell into the water, as I did my friend told me a fin of a tiger shark passed his board and at the moment I feel in, the shark made a bee line for me and the force that the shark did to move his tail almost knocked my friend of his board. My friend who was a life guard believed that he would never see me again alive. That was the first and last time I ever went surfing. I stood and surfed about 5 feet! lol.. Regarding the shark, didn't even know it was there, thinking about it now with this video and the few before this one, shows that not all sharks want to eat humans or I would have lost a leg, an arm or died. Or maybe it didn't like Irish meet, we are a bit tough.. hehe...

    This is proof that surfers (who look like seals) and great whites can co-exist together in perfect harmony. Notice how many of the sharks dart away when they spot the surfboards. Many others just swim on by without an ounce of interest in the "meat" above them. Funny that. Other situations have been very different. I reckon some sharks are more inquisitive (and meaner) than others.

  • @riverbankfisher
    @riverbankfisher Před 3 lety +5

    Now I begin to understand why surfers confidently take to the waves where lots of sharks live. For most of their active hours, sharks content themselves feeding on skates and other small fare, even when they greatly outnumber the wetsuit-clad humans invading their feeding zone.
    The drone revolution delivers a bird's-eye-view of that mostly peaceful aquatic coexistence, to a mass audience, thanks to CZcams University. Given how many toothy critters are quietly going about their daily agenda right there in the breakers, the odds do seem to favor a safe return to shore for surfers. That said, I'll stick to the pool, keeping my eyes peeled for any dorsal fins.

      THere are only 5 species (I think) of shark that are a threat to humans. Bull sharks are probably the worst, as they can tolerate fresh water, and hunt quite a long way inland. Hammerheads, TIger shark, Gt White, Black-tip reef sharks, I think, are the others. Makos occasionally, but they are usually in deeper waters, but the fastest swimming (40knots ?).

    Check out the Spinner shark getting some air in the beginning frames, as the sport fisherman head out the inlet. This is very typical too of Ft. Pierce North Jetty Inlet State Park. Often the sharks work the bait schools. I have had a small shark pop out of the wave in front of me while I was paddling into a small right. It was in hot pursuit of some bait, and it was over before I could realize. Just remember you are in much more danger driving down US 1 in rush hour traffic.

    Maybe a year or so ago, while sitting just of Stuart beach, trying to catch some shore break (when it had a decent bottom), I had a single manatee swim right under me. It was following the near short trough along the beach heading toward St. Lucie Inlet. All I saw was this dark shape about the size of my board pass under, so I got out and walked along the beach in the direction of its motion, and shortly later I saw the broad circular fluke or tail gently break the surface.

    I didnt get any sense of be afraid.. I had the absolute opposite.. Of a whole other world which seems in harmony and calm and with a purpose.. But then again Im not afraid of sharks or water..
