It was fun 2001, After 2006 the game got fucked up, and no one can deny that. Sorry.

This game runs so bad on 360 in comparison to PS3. I just finished it and its story expansion on 360 its fps dips and it hitches all the time. It's also 576p on 360 where's on PS3 it's 720p. On PS3 its quite stable fps wise also. I feel bad for people who experienced this on 360. The only real issues I have with this version of Duke Nukem Forever vs 2001 Duke, is that it's movement doesn't feel good and the physics of the game are a bit of a mess. Also a lot of environments and textures look very dated for a 2011 game. They could of cleaned it up and made it look a lot nicer to match up with a game for 2011. Also animations are quite bad for npc's and character models look rough for a 2011 release. I enjoyed it on PS3. But they could of at least took another year and cleaned it up further.

Both versions runs at 1152x640, the only difference is that PS3 inherently outputs a softer image than 360, so some aliasing artifacts might've been blurred. Also, IIRC, the 360 version was patched later on to fix performance and implement a proper frame rate cap and V-Sync.
Honestly, it hardly matters anymore anyway since not only is the PC port cheaper and has the upgraded weapon limit, but the 360 version is backwards compatible on Xbox One/Series consoles, so even if you wanted to play a console version, that's the safest bet nowadays.

@@KillThad Well since I just played the game on 360 and finished the main game and its Doctor Who Cloned me Expansion. I can tell you it still runs horrendously on 360. So if that was patched in, it didn't work. Play it on Xbox One or Series X though and it might lock to 60fps as it's framerate is actually unlocked. I do believe your right on it being 640p. I've heard it actually 644p. It looks worse on 360. I've played both. The PS3 console porting team knew how to work on PS3. I believe Triptych and Piranha Games worked on the PS3 Tranformers Game The Movie which was a really good port on PS3. These guys are some of the devs who helped people to understand how to develop for PS3. So that's why Duke Nukem Forever turned out well on PS3.

@@WllKiedSnake Ah, alright. Gonna be honest, it's been years since I played either console port, so I'm mostly just going off what I remember. Like I said, there's no real reason to nowadays since you can run the PC original on even a mid-range system and have a better experience.

@@KillThad You should play the Doctor Who Cloned Me story expansion if your interested in what Duke Nukem Forever could of been as its actually pretty decent. Duke Nukem Forever the 2011 release definitely was not a finished game. They just used what they had and mashed it all together to make a game. There is stuff that was not included. Like for example you could actually explore the Vegas Strip a bit more in earlier builds from around 2006. And the finished product is quite linear vs being more open with some linear sections. Also everything feels flat environment wise. I'd love for modders to of improved what Triptych and Piranha Games made. Go in and touch up and add stuff to the environment. Improve textures and make new levels for it. But I don't think there is any passion to do that with Duke Nukem Forever 2011. Today if your stuck on consoles I'd maybe recommend playing it on a Series X as like I said. The fps is unlocked and it might do 60fps because of that on a system like that. But there are issues with the 360 version outside of that also to do with the way shadows work in comparison to PS3 and textures not loading and switching to the low res versions. PS3 doesn't have those problems. It's a decent port. I actually do like Duke Nukem Forever on PS3 to a degree. But you gotta go in like your exploring a museum vs playing something that's what was intended for release.
