warms my heart to hear the young folks do the old stuff
So as someone who had Planxty (and Sweeny's Men before them) as part of the music of my time, I am a little protective of their legacy. In this version the legacy is in very safe and sensitive hands indeed.

Fully agreed, I listened a lot of modern performing of traditional music, very little if no one at all can be compared to this.
I feel the same about Planxty, having grown up listening to them. This must be a difficult song to tackle but this version is superb.

Last Tuesday I saw an Instagram post that you played with this song. I had never heard it before and it struck a chord with me. I searched youtube because I loved it and found this version. I find myself running this version at least twice a day for the past week and it unexplainably produces tears everytime. Absolutely stunning rendition of a song I have never heard before.

This is like a beautiful ghost from my youth spent with my girlfriend (and wife) on the White strand.
Should I be fortunate enough to arrive in Heaven someday when my time is over, this will be the soundtrack... your heavenly songs. In the meantime, I'll enjoy listening while living in the material world..
