A man who can face all obstacles with faith and courage, respects the guidance of his tribal elders, does not give in to temptation, and follows the path of light is a benefit and a blessing to the world and all who live in it.
He sacrificed himself so that others could get good life, one more thing I would like to say,that CG Bros always rocks

This is what I called : live a life after the sadness & darkest period of life.
From my perspective, always listen to your elder's advice and implement it in your life, you will find lots of hardships but the end result is always fruitful.

At the end of that desert storm, was it water that was meant to be his consolation or a deeper meaning to this? He gave it all for the life yet to come.

Moral:Some times we lead a way following our leader,society,generatio etc blindly.
We struggle with whole life time on that way to Achieving something special, but it’s nothing but a moonshine.

There can be various interpretations to this short film. It can be any journey one goes through, fighting fears and hardships, and at times a feeling to run away from it. But then, one must overcome these fears and hardships to attain peace, and well being for oneself and for others. That's how you attain a fresh life of hope and happiness.

looks like the spiritual journey one goes through in a spiritual awakening process. He is in the desert a place where everything is nearly dead and later discoveries the source of life is in his own heart. the light emanating from his heart is the tree of life.....
he didn't need to seek outside for life..it was within him all along. Instead of being just a man, he became the tree of life itself.

The film depicts the difficult times and hardships a man has to go through, hold on to hope when one sees nothing ahead, have patience and belief. All these experiences make a man wise... And experienced... All that experience is nothing but a priceless gem man earns (golden thing). And only that wisdom becomes the seed of a next human generation. (Notice the same kind of dry bent tree when the man left for journey)

There will be times when someone will have to step forward and sacrifice so that others after him can live a better life.
My interpretation:
He had a quest that had to be accomplished although he didn't know what it was at the beginning, but fate has its mysterious ways. Throughout his journey, he sometimes felt the urge to give up and simply go back, but he faced his fears and moved to a new level in which no other thing could cast fear into his heart because he had already survived the worse. He finally reached his destination. It might look like he hadn't benefited anything, but he had certainly assured a prosperous life for generations to come.

Those times, are everytime a mother gives birth and raises her child. She dies a little every day. And when her children are at the peak of their lives, mother dies. The cycle of death and rebirth begins again.

This story can be looked at on various levels. However I feel there's perhaps a spiritual message here. One where that message is also about life. We all live it.
This man had to continue his life's journey to overcome trials and tribulations along his life's path. In doing so, he was given an answer to life [maybe]. This answer is something innate in all of us at conception. And we do not even know there was an answer within all along. Like Thoth. Messenger if the Gods. He was also the keeper of knowledge. And it is said that he has hidden knowledge somewhere so even Marduk wouldn't know. I believe that place to be within man kind.
This man is faced with a storm (trouble we face throughout life) as he carries with him that burden (what was in the satchel) that has grown heavy along this journey (us living life and never finding answers. Never searching within). The longer his journey grows (life), he also grows weary. His burden causes him to want to give up. ESPECIALLY when he faces that trial, which causes him fear. And then he is faced with a dilemma. Run from that fear or embrace it and not give up. Then he remembers his burden he carried. He realizes there's something...within. So it's at this moment he decides to seek it out. Once he does, it becomes him. A cycle of life that goes on and on like this. The great cycle of life. That light is what's inside of each and every one of us. And here we find the tree of life through the eyes of another. It too is within. And it must take root in order to grow.

Follow the stars meaning follow your path that your ancestor the elderly gentleman gave him a box with the tree of life that can grow in the middle of nowhere but he had to follow his path no matter how hard it worse and he want to turn around and go back but he had to take the rough road he had to stand in that storm and when the journey Was done he became a tree of life that can feed the generations that will take that path and take it further because they have food to sustain them to reach the stars

After the drought of the sub Sahara desert (Sahel), and an empty deserted village, the message of the left elder to his son was " My days are numbered, and you are the last one of our kind. Go and follow the North star. There you'll find your path to a prosperous future ".
Then, the old man gave him a valuable box and told him not to open It till you reach the never ending river. It is going to be your salvation.
After crossing the dying Savannah, and the desert with all the difficulties in his path, at last he reached the cost of Libya.
He tried the peace of gold that was in the box for a passage to the other side of the sea.
After reaching the cost of Europe.....

I think there were not six stars but only three, the light of which is reflecting on the river by night. There is a line between the three top stars, and the three below: it is the line of the river he reached
