- Not only is it destructive to tell people they’re nothing more than cosmic accidents-it‘s complete nonsense. Today, R.C. Sproul exposes the insanity behind the naturalistic idea that the universe was randomly produced by space, time, and chance.

This is some high quality audio. Like he's in the room and still alive.
I don't know about you, but I don't think he ever truly died.
@@JerynToney his death was faked by the CIA.
Reminds me of The D.L. Moody quote, famously paraphrased by Billy Graham, "Some day you will read in the papers that D. L. Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal-a body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body."
“What is the ontological structure of space?!”
Einstein’s Field Equations: *sips beer*
That is unbelievable
The definition of the word "random" is ambiguous enough to build whole religions around it. "Circumstance" is a set of conditions that determine what is possible / not possible and likely / unlikely in a given system. So products of circumstance are not random, but also not [necessarily] intelligently directed.
The origin of the components that make up a “circumstance” still must be explained in order to satisfy the objection. Circumstances cannot exist without factors in place. Where did those factors come from? That is the flaw of naturalism.

[masona]: "The origin of the components that make up a “circumstance” still must be explained in order to satisfy the objection. Circumstances cannot exist without factors in place. Where did those factors come from? That is the flaw of naturalism."
Creationists fix that "flaw" in naturalism by proposing the existence of yet another factor / agent that has exactly the same problem -- where did it come from? If the answer is that it's always been here, that works just as well for naturalism.
If I prefer naturalism, it's only because it's more real, demonstrable, observable, detectable, measurable, validatable to me than invisible / unobservable / undetectable factors / agents.

what is the ontological structure of god ?
It is accurate
Flat out Nonsense
That the way is way from time
What does that have to do with Christianity?
absolutely right
If one believes that ontological existence can be defined using mathematical objects, then I do not think that the theory of spacetime is complete nonsense (as it is completely and properly defined by the mathematical concept of spacetime). But perhaps it begs the question (and shifts the debate) as the 'mathematical objects' themselves need a proper definition.
Science is about what can be ordered and that is only the present.
Science is constantly developing. You should not use the term science by not thoroughly investigating what it means.

Our local universe is an expansion of a black hole that formed within the eternal Cosmos.
How do I know this is true?
I have faith.
, what could this "local universe" you speak of have derived from? From what and where did the material for it manifest? to say you have Faith you must have a durable underpinning to make your statement logical,...
see? another example that naturalism is none sense and the follwers of that ilogical thinking end up like this: saying none sense.
You have faith in a fool.
Just as the one who represents himself in court has a fool for an attorney, so the one who believes in himself has a fool for a god.

How is naturalism nonsense
Space + time + chance = everything. Including the mandlebrot set. Including the golden ratio. Including infinity. Sagittarius A stands alone as the only explosion to ever happen that created order, whilst every other explosion destroys life and order, creating nothing but death and chaos.
Zero + zero + zero = god. If you desperately need an answer for everything, then superstition will provide it.
Zero - the amount of actual research you've done, or time spent looking for God.
First of all,That argument is fallacious because the logic is that every effect needs a cause. God is not an effect.
The question falsely assumes that God came from somewhere.
The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, "What does blue smell like?" Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, God is not in the category of things that are created or caused. God is uncaused and uncreated-He simply exists.
consider the following:
We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing thing is what we call God. God is the uncaused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.
@@misternewman1576 Try me. Perhaps try to explain why jesus had to have a virgin birth. You will fail.
@@e.t.h.559 Who said that there was ever a time of nothing? What is the point of attempting to answer a mystery with a ridiculous piece of superstition? Do not assume a god. Myth is not proof.
@@rf7477 First, all matter is changeable, which means it does not possess being or life in itself. This leads to an infinite regress, a transfer of energy, or by way of analogy, think of a series of cascading dominoes. If the dominoes have been eternally falling then they would never reach our current position. In other words, it is a logical problem. There must necessarily be an uncaused cause or something that has life in itself. Thus, all things which exist must necessarily have a material cause from an uncaused Cause: God the Creator. Second, the current expansion of the universe indicates that it had a beginning. A finite universe means that matter is not eternal.
You don't like it, hence it must be false.

2:20 all he does here is make himself seem ignorant. "Space" isn't nothing, and it isn't empty. It's only empty relative to everything else! But it's still full of fields and particles. It's full of virtual particles and anomalous events, too.
What do those fields and particles, virtual particles and anomalous events exist inside of?
@@reallifelegend4781 I don't think I understand the question. Why do they have to exist inside of anything?
I believe there may be a misunderstanding here.
His point went right over your pseudo-intellectual head. "Particles and fields" found IN space do not give it an ontological status or essence. More to the POINT it does not make it an intelligent being. When the psedo-science community started pitching something CAN come from nothing it was time to pack your bags. Only a desperately delusional person would even entertain such illogical nonsense. Something or someone was/is self-existent...no not self-created. That would go against the laws of logic.
So does space exists apart from matter? Gravity may exist but it is only matter acting in regards to other matter. And where do virtual particles come from?
