This guy gets how character themes should be done. When a character shows up in a scene, their theme should always accompany them whether if it’s dramatic or subtle. It’s what makes them more memorable. Examples like John Williams’ superman theme is a perfect example.
lionelep1 this concept of theme songs for characters, objects and etc, actually met it's premise through the era of classical music, thanks to the piece of classical music the Ring of Nibelungen for example, with specific musical tones that are associated with the entries of Siegfried, or the evocation of the ring.
I mean, it's Bear McCreary after all.

It truly does feel fitting for this older, wiser, and more self controlled Kratos, his rage is within his control rather than it controlling him and that makes him more powerful and dangerous than he’s ever been.
He BETTER be doing the score for Ragnarok too, his OST was phenomenal.
He is composing the soundtrack for Ragnarök. Bear and Santa Monica Studio confirmed it on Twitter when the reveal trailer came out.

I've never had a playstation, but i've seen all the gameplay for this game. Being a single father myself, I love this without being able to even play the game. But this song is almost played everyday in my household.

That score is genius. You can play the main theme backwards and it sounds the same. it's a reference to Da Vinci's ability to write backwards.

Fernando Ariel Leon Alejandre yes we will do. So many good games this year. Spiderman, gow and red dead are all goty contenders. And then other games which are also great like far cry 5 and ni no kuni 2.
Matthew Aq far cry 5 and no no kuni will not be GOTY. It would be GoW, Spider-Man, or RD2. So far GoW is goty but until those 2 other games come out we will have to see how good they are.

This score is just so perfect. It's amazing how music can describe a character. Like take it this way : You know that Kratos is big guy, fierce, violent, that killed all the Olympians. You don't know after all this years where did he go, and when we see him after all this years, those 3 notes hits and you are like "wow man, that's freakin Kratos, the killers of gods". Man, it's amazing.

The score, from all what I’ve heard, I can say without a doubt, is a masterpiece
i LOVED the music in this game ive heard every note i noticed every single thing i loved the game by far its my favorite. (AND YES i did cry when it ended.)
Watching artists work on such interactive projects and realizing just how much attention, care and passion goes into their work makes me love the gaming industry much more! I will be playing the game this Christmas, can't wait! Shoutout to all the passionate gamers in PS family! :)

We've gotten so accustomed to the tone-rich, yet shallow compositions from certain other composers who shall go unnamed, it's immensely refreshing to hear music that can make the most of "three notes"... and continue building.

GOD knows how much i have faced to just play this game,
all those hard times i had to face.
But this got me pumped up like nothing else ,no mf can stop me from playing this game when it releases on the 20th.

The final score when Kratos discovers the last mural at the end of the game is so considerately written for fathers letting go of theirs sons, I tear up every time I watch it.

Well the music in all of the God of War games have been epic.
Now with that said, is there any hope for a PS4 remaster collection consisting of:
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War III
- God of War Ascension
- God of War Chains of Olympus
- God of War Ghost of Sparta
I think it would be great; especially if 1, 2, Chains, and Ghost were remade using the graphics engine of 3 and Ascension sort of like what we got with Crash N Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited, and Shadow of the Colossus (PS4).
Even if they were to take existing PS3 remasters of 1, 2, Chains, and Ghost and updated the graphics (not necessarily a full overhaul even though that would be ideal), I think fans would appreciate being able to play the original 6 on the PS4.

The valkeryie theme alone deserves some type of award but this whole soundtrack is insane. I can listen to it all on repeat but my favorites are stone mason, the dragon, magni and modi, and the healing. This guy is brilliant!
