2007-2017 Jeep Compass Exterior Door Handle Replacement (W/ Door Panel Removal)

What's up everybody!
This is a DIY how-to on replacing the exterior front door handle (passenger) on a 1st Gen. 2007-2017 Jeep Compass. Door Panel removal is also outlined in the video.
*DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a Master Tech, just a long time wrencher.

my handle just stopped working took it apart everything seems fine but the latch rod seems loose for some reason do u suggest just getting the rod replaced or rod and door handle ?

Really hard to say without seeing it to be honest. But with that said, i would think it would probably be a mechanism, like the door handle mechanism. All the rod does is connect parts. If it wasn’t hit/bent or damaged, the rod is most likely fine, as all it is at the end of the day is a metal connecting rod. So i would be more inclined to think its a component that is connected by a rod, not the rod itself.
