Great reviews as always!!! Raiti, I have the 2020 Nissan Altima SL & Personally I actually like the current front fascia, I feel the chrome around the grille really makes the car look more relaxed & more professional than the 2023 updated front fascia version. What’s throwing me off is that 12.3” screen, it looks distracting & it’s not ideal for a sedan. If I was them I’d probably would’ve done an 9” 10” screen, or kept it the same size. I like the style of the infotainment screen, just not the size.

I'm shocked that it's almost the same price (after dealer markups) as the new Nissan Z msrp. I don't see too many SR Turbos on the road neither.

it's because most car reviewers are enthusiasts and enthusiasts prefer a regular stepped automatic, dual clutch and manual for fun factor. There will always be an inherit bias when it comes to car reviewers and powertrain options. If you notice in almost all reviewers now, the vehicles never have enough power, need better tires for sportier handling, wants panoramic Roof, dual clutch, stepped automatic trans (ZF 8speed) led all around and digital gauge display. They're reviewing the car not for the features ans specs the car has but for features and specs they wish the car have so it'll be perfect in their eyes. Enthusiasts car reviews do influence manufacturers to put a little more features in the offering because reviews are basically almost free commercial but influence by the taste and opinion of each reviewer. It can be a good thing in terms of getting lots of features but the want of all these things will indefinitely push the price of the cars way up. Altimas is to be a college student car of choice, now, a fully loaded platinum is almost $40k and that's competitive with its competition. Car reviewers need to do more objective reviews than subjective. If the car comes with heated seats, mention that instead of saying at this price point it should of have ventilated. But hey, I love cars and I like most of the reviewers and their different take on the cars. CVT is not an enthusiasts choice. However, most people like women who buys these cars don't care about engine and transmission. They only care about comfort, space and gas mileage. They don't even ask about horse power figures. one it have enough power and cheap enough. The manufactures knows this about their customers from the review questions they ask so they know their customers budget and preferences

Think about it this way. You play Russian roulette with a 5 bullet pistol. You get lucky and you live because when you pulled the trigger there wasn't a bullet in the chamber. You say, what's the big deal about Russian roulette? "I'm alive" The guy that killed himself can't say the same thing, sort of similar to how the people that had the CVT blow up on them at 20k miles. Just because it didn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. There's literally a class action lawsuit against Nissan CVTs.

I think the overwhelming majority of Altima buyers are clogged-highway commuters who are more concerned with the quality of the a/c, the sun visor lighted mirror, and the XM radio than any extra horsepower they will never have the chance, much less the urge, to use. Nissan is aiming that non-performance engine & transmission combo directly at that customer. The last time she thought about the car's color is when she walked around the available stock on the dealership lot - then still picked white. The chrome at the C pillar (?) area is a gimmick to tie it in with the Z's katana blades, in case her husband really had his heart set on something cooler than an Altima.

My biggest issue is they keep making these kind of boring engines. Either A. Go full electric/hybrid with your cars or B. Make a REAL combustion engine. That way people who don't care as much about the electric and hybrids can still get the nice V6 engines and v8 engines. The good inline 5's and 6's. It's getting hard to pick new cars now.
