Steam is better than power washing.
Disconnect the battery and use dielectric on the harness connections. Nothing to worry about

What kind of steamer? I just bought a cheap one off amazon cause i only want to use it a few times. Only has 3 bar pressure and advertised at 2500 watts but of course will be plugging it in a 120V receptacle that can only use about 1800 watts so im afraid its gonna suck lol
Will steaming help get rid of rats possibly living under the hood?

Power washer? Garden hose? Never. I'm looking for something safe and effective. I don't care about the time it takes to do the work. Plastics melt with heat. I'm guessing, although I don't know, that normal engine bay temperatures routinely go above 212'F/100'C, & thus steam cleaning would be relatively safe. Target vehicle is a Corvette, & they've got plastic everywhere. Not just trim and engine covers, but body panels & more.
