After using Chromecast for over a decade one of my Chromecast devices has stopped working. This was the only video on CZcams after watching many that got it back working. WELL DONE!
Mine stopped working too. Tried resetting it unpowered and repowered devices. It's streamed great four years until the other day when I lost Internet service. After that repair and regaining internet no Chromecast device found. Had my Chromecast plugged into port number to of my stereo receiver. From the receiver goes into my Samsung TV there a dmi cable. It worked great for years but now I can't get it to. I tried rebooting everything including Chromecast device. Still no Chromecast device found? Do you know what I can do next? Still on Chromecast device found on my phone. For example on a CZcams video I have the Chromecast symbol button but when pressed no device found.

We just changed WiFi providers from Dish to Sparklight (which goes through the cable lines in our house). Now nothing shows up when I click on the cast button. It's like it doesn't recognize that I have a casting device. Do I need to tell Chromecast that I have a new WiFi connection? If so, how do I re-set it up?
These setup videos are incomplete. You can also use your phone hotspot to setup. After setup you have 2 methods to cast to tv. 1. "Mirror" via the home app. This method means you cannot use your hp for other things but it's free and does not consume any hotspot data. 2. "Cast " using the cast button on the videos itself. It will consume hotspot data but you can use your hp while casting. Note: my telco plan comes with unlimited data with 5gb limited hotspot
I believe any device that has the Google Home app, using the same google account that you set up the Chromecast with, SHOULD work. Just log in and follow any set up on the device you want to use as your remote.

To use it just treat it like you are watching something on a smaller screen and want it to play on the TV. Start the app playing on your phone, have your TV on and hit the icon and enjoy! In nutshell, this means both casting device and Chromecast itself has to be in same network. However there are many possible setups. For instance my Chromecast 3 gets internet via Ethernet and I cast mostly via 5 GHz Wifi and 2.4 GHz Wifi but as both wifi interfaces and ethernet switch are bridged on router and access point, it runs perfectly :)

Depends on what you want to do with it. Roku stick is more versatile. Chromecast was created years before the Roku stick, Roku now has more features. Why do you want to set up a Chromecast if you prefer the Roku features?
