This song has been one of my many favorites throughout my thirties, forties, and fifties. However, it took a new place in my heart when my son asked me to come and see him during a church praise service. The choir sang a few songs, then the church got still, my son stood up, and the intro to this song started playing. I knew immediately what the song was but never in my life to ever expect my son to stand up in church and sing this song. He didn't just sing it, he sang it. His whole heart and soul was projected in that song. The one thing that I never forgot is the look he gave me when he begin singing that song. I will never forget that day, that song, and how God was moving in my son. My cup runneth over...Thank you son for all your Love.

It was very controversial when pop star BJ began singing gospel songs. Many Christians found it hard to take him seriously since he was best known as a secular singer and they were uncomfortable with the blurred line. However, it appears he wasn't just pandering to a new crowd, but genuinely invested in Christ. And the music he sang, from Archie Jordan and others, was, in his voice, powerful and meaningful. There was and is no question that his voice and these songs were lifegiving for many, many people. While he was misunderstood, as if he was using gospel songs for selfish career ends, I think that properly understood, he used his career for benevolent gospel ends. I, for one, am grateful for his encouraging service, which I think was way purer than that of most public preachers and singers, despite his involvement within an industry often hostile to the gospel.
BJ, Archie Jordan, thank you for bringing us these lovely gospel songs.

His gospel music has seen me through very rough patches in my teenage years.
This song played a big part in my life. I lost the ability to read, write or understand much of English language. I would play this song everyday over and over again - all small words (I could understand) and slowly God healed me. I wrote to BJ and thanked him for his part in my life. Since then I've written several books, one of which was made into a movie script. This song will be song a my funeral, I hope.

Yesterday 27 Feb 19, here in Australia, Cardinal George Pell was sentenced to Jail for sexual abuse of two young choir boys. I love my Church and this has left me feeling what can I trust - then I remembered WE ARE THE CHURCH. I sat and listening to this - and needed to "be still and let God love me........... guess it was appropriate that yesterday was also Ash Wednesday - the beginning of our time of Repentance
