Just got my e30 m30 turbo fired up a week ago. This viddo helped me understand the tuning part of megasquirt.
Much appreciated. 💪🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥
Glad the videos are helpful ! That’s awesome 👏
Awesome video 🤜🤛 learned a bunch haha.
Great video, thanks for sharing! You should allow / open comments on your shorts videos.
Good tuning videos 👍
Glad you like them!
If you want to compare the injector on time to how far the crank has swung. It’s 120,000/engine rpm = milliseconds for 720*
Fun little thing to have for on time vs crank degrees.
I’ll give it a try !
Love all your videos. Would you mind touching on tuning tips with higher comp engines? Specifically, I’m talking about the b35 vs b34. How different are their hp/torque limits on stockish setups and what to be cautious of when boosting? Thank you!!
Not a big difference between tuning the b34/35. Standalone ECUs can give you so much control compression ratio to a point isn’t an issue as long as you have good fuel. So far stock rods on my b34 are taking 645lbft to the wheels so over 700lbs at the crank. So it’s pretty beefy and the b35 is no different
What do you think about using micro squirt with automatic transmission??
No problem if you’re talking about engine management.
Why you dont use incorporate AFR Target? Any particular reason?
I prefer to tune the engine without EGO correction using the AFR target table and rely on a well made fuel map. just my preferred method
Basically what he said, you should tune with only the VE table and not using the ego correction. Once you have a real solid tune down, then you can incorporate EGO correction. One thing to note is to only use it up to 100kpa. You DO NOT want to use EGO correction while in boost as an error in that can cause your engine to blow
Hello, stupid question could you make the map available for download.
I see the setting very badly 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it could also be my eyes. It would be very nice if you could provide me with the map
When is big burnout vid comming?
Your engine bottom is stock, what about piston ring gap? And bow do you manage to tune tight stock piston ring gaps?
The bottom end is unopened. Stock ring gaps. With alcohol fuels the pistons stay much cooler and ring butting is less likely
@@TurbineResearchHow about the head work what sort of changes have you done there?
@@will3835 100% bone stock
@@TurbineResearchAbsolutely crazy man. Working on something similar for my E23 and your videos have made me rethink my plans on how far I need to go into the core engine I bought to set up for boost so I can just swap it out at some point.
Would love to see an m20 tune
I have an m20 tune I can show but it’s very very similar
Sounds good I’ll keep my eyes out for the video
@@TurbineResearch we need them ! XD
What fuel pressure are you running with those injectors at 1.3 dead time?? 3:09 i have a set of those but i don't think my setting are accurate 😂😂 im using 43psi at 1.150 deadtime with .150 as correction but at idle my afr varies from 14s at 13.8v to 11s at 12.4v🤯 the dead time i seen for these injectors has been from .6 to 1.3 now
3bar base fuel pressure with 1:1 on boost
@@TurbineResearch does my situation sound like I need to add that extra dead time?
@@2.5Tduratec93notchback dead time is less crucial than most think. Most injectors just need around 1ms at 13.7v. This is the dead time from the Siemens Deka data sheet for those injectors. Just make sure it’s set correctly and it doesn’t need to be adjusted again
@@TurbineResearch my idle is at 1000rpm at around 24-26kpa and a pw of 1.5~ at 13.7v and 1.7~ at 12.5v. With that .2 diffrence my afr changes 3 points
Aren't you concerned with the lean out using fuel cuts for rev limiter and launch?
It’s how the oem does rev limits on most cars and I haven’t seen a problem with it in 7 years. I’m more concerned about using a spark cut and breaking a rocker off
