Daigo's footwork is astounding, he's mastered the game to the point where he moves Ryu around like it's his own body.
Props to the Adon for sharing these replays, just goes to show that the odd few games top players lose doesn't prove they always lose online. Though playing more patiently, thoughtfully and respectfully to slow down the pace of the games a bit would've been nice. Guys like Daigo are a treat to watch when the thinking aspect of the game is maximized.

Yeh, it's amazing what you can do with prediction, preparation and reaction. Whenever you see someone crouching like that you should be wary of them buffering ultra, SRK etc.

Ah, online play. I can picture it - Daigo at home in his underwear, eating cheetos, drinking a beer, half paying attention to the SF4 match while Attack on Titan is playing on a nearby tv. Yup.

Daigo did not even take this Adon seriously at all.
He played like an absolute online warrior, this is not how he played on tourney or when he vs Japanese players. Hyperly overaggressive, continuous rushing towards the opponent, LOTS OF random uppercuts, nonstop pressing buttons. He literally beat the fuck out of this Adon. I think he just gave that Adon the taste of his own medicine. That Adon is good, but I do not like him at all. So many random uppercuts, wake-up PLUS random ULTRA. It's good to see him being beaten like that so next time he should pay more respect to his opponent especially when it is Daigo for freakin' sake.
Well, if he consistently handles Gamerbee at tournaments, his apprentice shouldn't be a problem ¦D
well Daigo can handle anyone. Gamerbee or whoever it is. But the point I made was that, Gamerbee is a very very good player with high level of skills. Gosh I just rewatched the best game of 2012 between him and Daigo few days ago. Prediction, consistency, professionalism. That's how you play a high level match. Not this kind of Adon. The first match Daigo lost in this set, in my opinion, was just because he did not expect his opponent to be that fucking bullshit and random. Uppercut uppercut everywhere. After that he knew his opponent was just another online warrior so he did the same thing, beat the fuck out of that Adon. How I love him for doing that tbh
***** I don't really agree with you. I don't know exactly when did he say it, but Daigo once stated that he never underestimates ANY opponent, regardless his/her skill. If he went hyper agressive on this set, its because the matchup demands it. Adon-Ryu is a bit sided to Adon, and Ryu needs to shut down his cross-ups and vortex setups by going on offense all time. Check out the recent Dreamhack Winter 2013 grand finals. Daigo vs Gamerbee. He played the same: always offensive, taking big risks, pulling off ume-shoryus (he did four in a row... all of them landed), and of course, he swept the floor with Gamerbee.
Also, I think its kind of his new way of playing. He has always been offensive, but in the last months, he's more agressive than ever. You can see it in his ft10s against Xian & Infiltration and the Topanga League matches. Apparently, he's so confident now about his execution that he's always willing to go for max punishes and big risks

Is it true that Red Focus input will be focus+any button? That will not only ruin the focus+tech os, but also any plink to hit focus on more than one frame. Daigo himself uses it (plinks focus+HP) as well as many. It's just necessary and I wish Capcom can see that and change it before throwing it in like that.

I would love to play with Daigo even if I know it is going to be 0-10. The point of playing with top players is not about winning, for many players it is a great honor to even have a chance to spar with pros.

Daigo aways tends to humiliate Adon players (vs Gamerbee evo 2012, Dreamhack final) and now this. He has completely annihilated this Adon, I feel so bad for him. This is supposed to be like a 6-4 for Adon but Daigo rewrote the history books by turning this into a 7-3 matchup or more like a sandbag matchup. I think he plays this way because Adon can be such a random character but he's neither a rush down, shoto, grappler nor fireball character so Daigo doesn't even need to zone as he can just play footsies.
Not necessarily. It's because Gamerbee likes to press buttons, and Daigo has always exposed that every time they play. You would think he would have learned by now.... and in regards to THIS match, It's quite obvious that Yoro has learned everything from Gamerbee. Including his bad habits.

It's a mindgame though. In a wakeup situation, it's a 50/50 between throw/shoryuken, so habits don't matter that much. If he stopped teching throws, he would risk eating a grab, followed by that same exact setup.

Nah you’re right. You can only rush him down with very high risk gambles. The key is to get into his head and stay there, or else you’re climbing uphill every frame.

BoboTheImp Thats what I meant :/ He just got 8 frames of stun because of the counter hit so he had a good chunk of time to do the super - c.MP, buffer inputs, look for the hit, press punch.
People will try and crouch tech when you're in their face. c.MP blows them up for it.
You can hit confirm it into whatever you want really. Stick out there - see what happens. Can link ultra 2 on counter hit as well.
