They grabbed their guns, hunted Arbery down, and lynched him. They brought everything but the blood hounds. How did the McMichaels know that Arbery had just come out of the house under construction? Did they hear the neighbour on the phone? Do they have access to a police scanner? Did they see Arbery go in and out of the home themselves?
The Dad saw him "hauling ass" down the street after Arbery was caught in the house. Arbery had been on camera in that house, and Travis McMichael had personally seen him near that house at night shortly before this incident. They knew they had their guy.
They had NO knowledge he had gone into that house, they made Assumption based off him running past their home. Everything after that had no justification. Ahmaud was the one who, after 5 minutes of trying to get away, felt he needed to defend himself from a man intercepting him with a shotgun, who had been threatening to shoot Ahmaud minutes before.
Great video, once again. Ironic that the info obtained through the interviews with these three, along with the video, lead to their arrests and subsequent convictions. They themselves provided the evidence they thought would clear them, but talk about backfiring! RIP Ahmaud. Justice served.
justice served? not really. Justice makes things right so it doesn't happen again. Justice would mean bigots stop calling cops when they witness a poc living their life, or murdering them for daring to survive.

@@mikejones9961 so if he’s a democrat for not supporting murder, does that mean the Republican answer is murder? Very intriguing. Anyways before a war starts down here, this was quite the the story, there was no reason for Ahmaud to be on that property, honestly I can understand the suspicion. What I cannot understand is making the choice to be someone’s judge, juror and, executioner over something so petty. Guy had two trucks tailing him with a bunch of armed men yelling at him to stop, if it were the police it’d be one thing that he didn’t stop. Personally I don’t know about you but if I had two trucks high tailing me, but rather than police it’s some high on justice bub guys, im gonna keep running. Should he have been arrested for trespassing? Honestly, yes. Trespassing is an offense even if it’s in an empty house under construction. Should he have been killed? Well I feel like the answer should be pretty obvious there. His killers had every right to be suspicious of his actions, but unless the threat is imminent, they have no right to take action. Isn’t the old saying innocent until proven guilty? They had no idea his intentions, they just had a hunch and decided to roll with it, and the result is life in jail for them, and an unnecessary life lost
No they didn't. He was killed because he attacked Travis and tried to take his gun. If he had stopped and put his hands up he would still be alive and could now sue Travis for hundreds of thousands of dollars!
@@octowuss1888 If the McMichaels never chased him with trucks and guns then he would still be alive. He has no obligation to stop for racist white people who want to lynch him. No man has to explain himself to strangers. Was he supposed to show his freedom papers to the local slave patrol? I don't see why a murder is being justified for a trespassing when no one was in danger...
@@sarahannar676 You mean the attempt to defend himself from ARMED men who had been chasing him for well over 5 minutes, as well, threatening to shoot him? Yeah, Ahmaud had every right at that point to try and defend himself as anyone would believe a man with a shotgun approaching you after chasing you could easily be trying to kill you.
@@sarahannar676 Did you not follow the trial or even Watch this video here? Ahmoud made MULTIPLE attempts to get away from them. Changing direction, going down different streets, etc. For nearly 5 minutes they chased him, and it wasn't until he was boxed in with the Dad and Son in front of him, and another car coming up from behind him, that he was forced to run towards their Truck. The Son, who had moments before threatened to Shoot him, was now Out of the truck and moving to intercept him with a Shotgun in hand. AT THAT POINT, ANYONE would be in fear for their life. Ahmoud had two choices, fight (Stand his ground in self defense) and maybe prevent himself from getting shot, or try to run away again, Not knowing these armed mens intentions (but having them threaten him moments before) and risk getting shot in the back. There is a reason why an IN DEPTH trial found these men Guilty, and it wasn't political. It's because the evidence and circumstances showed THEY were the aggressors, had NO knowledge of any crime having been committed by Ahmoud (only assuming because he was jogging past their home), and therefore were NOT justified in chasing him, and were NOT defending themselves.
What did prosecution state was the reason he didn’t stop when they shouted him? I didn’t watch the trial and don’t wanna make any judgments on it but it just seems odd to me.
Nice sarcasm. If you were actually serious, you'd be insane lol. The eyes can not ever, physically trespass. Merely looking at something from a public easement or road, is perfectly fine. I'm suprised an ex cop didn't know any better. If he had a bad feeling, all he had to do was snap a pic and call 911. If you're coming at me with a firearm aggressively, out of nowhere, I'd lunge at you too because that's something only an insane person would do.

Great job as usual with the details, I do feel you should stay away from theorizing on hot button topics like this. We don't know that he was innocently out for a jog, that is an opinion based on what you have or have not heard. Did he have a history of being an avid jogger ? Don't think so. We certainly do not know that he was innocently checking out electrical work to help him on his career path or was just curious about construction methods, that is pretty ludicrous and has no place in a factual recreation and takes away from the overall factual presentation. Odds are he was casing out the joint for a future theft or was planning a theft right then and there but got rattled and took off, running. So I expect the usual suspects to jump in and say "Oh so you are saying that justifies his execution !" No, thats not what I said, I am saying that in addition to known facts, logic and common sense must also be used when examining incidents like this. Guys do not go trespassing on private property construction to increase their body of knowledge. So I would have suggested just saying he entered a private home under construction at such and such time, and left shortly thereafter without getting into speculations why. Obviously, trespassing and running were red flags to the people who actually lived there, and I think race had little if any bearing on their reactions ,, As if they would have had no reaction or suspicions if it was a white guy trespassing and running down the street. Obviously too bad they didn't just wait for law enforcement.
I agree. He was most likely looking for something to steal, but there was no way of substantiating that so I just used the information I found. Those guys really messed their lives up by not waiting for law enforcement, who was literally right around the corner.
@@forresthaggertychannel4301 Yes but the bit about him being there to further his education was introduced by his family and prosecution, they had to come up with some excuse why he was trespassing, and that was it. I still would like to know if he had any legit past of jogging, that alone might change my mind about his purposes, but I believe he had none. The guy should not have come out of the vehicle armed with a shotgun, he had his dad with a gun for backup if that was needed. Don't think it was wise to bum rush a guy with a shotgun either, but hey none of us were there.
@@FullyCharged22 Please, please. Justify this Jim Crow lynching where no one was in immediate danger until the slave catchers brought out their guns, hunted Arbery down and demanded to see his freedom papers...
This case is so bizarre. I'm not allowed to asked questions without being attacked. I always wonder why ahmaud didn't speak. Obviously the men that shot him were wrong and deserve what they have got. I just have curiosities. Most pple would be like hey dude wtf are U pointing a gun at me for leave me alone or something. Pple say fear. Yes could be. But footage of ahmaud confronting police when they had a gun or tazor at him shows he had balls. Why didnt police provide first aid. He was taking his last breaths I thought they would try and attend to him. So weird.
They weren't pointing anything at him until he lunged for it. He was "jogging" in boots, running from a construction site where he was previously seen during day and NIGHT hours. He had a history of theft, and the men's own vehicles were broken into the same day he was on video at the construction site. You're right, the men should be serving SOME time for loss of life, but they were only trying to protect their possessions and their homes from a known criminal who had been incarcerated for theft from Wal-Mart, had taken a piece to a school basketball game, and had been seen in the immediate area where crimes had recently been committed. If he was truly "jogging", why would he travel to this nice neighborhood? He lived in a fairly rural area and he could have easily "jogged" in his own neighborhood in boots, but he didn't. I am not trying to be mean or attack you, I am simply saying that this is not the whole story.
I believe Ahmaud would be alive today if he had not lunged for the shotgun. Everyone was on the phone to police. In fact, the cell phone video used to convict the last guy was provided to police by him as exculpatory evidence. They believed they were pursuing a criminal. They didn't have a right to shoot him without provocation, but they did have a right to defend themselves. And Ahmaud's behavior indicated he was not acting normally. It's not normal to enter a closed construction site. It's not normal to ignore someone who asks you stop. It's not normal to change directions. It is entirely normal for a criminal to lunge for a weapon. Did they profile him because he was black? Probably. Were they cops who are trained to not profile people by race? Nope. Tragic.
Hindsight is 20/20 he likely thought he was a dead man either way, people chasing you with guns hanging out the back of a pickup truck armed isn’t a comforting sight. He might as well try to fight and survive
Terrible tragedy and in my opinion Ahmaud went into the building under construction to look for possible electricians who were possibly hiring for an apprenticeship. It's a very common thing to do when looking for jobs in construction, basically walk up to any building under construction and ask around for jobs. Considering he wanted to get into electrical engineering.
Idiots! I don’t care if he was black, white, purple, orange, you don’t try to take the law into your own hands. Call the cops if you have an issue. He didn’t have anything in his hands to make you think he stole something. With that being said, I don’t think they went out to hurt him. But, they were the ones that pushed that kid’s back into a corner and forced him to react in order to protect himself. He should have never been put into that situation! Anyone in his position, would have done the same thing. So sad he lost his life over a misunderstanding.

Did he become a voice of reason and stop it? Or did he toe the good-old-boy line and participate in a lynching? He participated in a murder and got a life sentence. It's pretty simple...
@@octowuss1888 Cold-blooded murder by vigilantes doling out street executions over what they assume is being moral? Assumed theft equals justifiable homicide? I'm sure Jesus agrees with you and he would also murder people after making assumptions about them. Sounds like a hell of a guy...
This case and the Trayvon Martin case are just two examples of what I believe to be murders by deeply racist vigilantes who think they’re going to be heroes in the street, instead of allowing the police to investigate. When you mentioned that Ahmaud was possibly inspecting the electrical wiring as a way to help his career aspirations, my heart sank again. These three are now locked up exactly as they deserve to be.

Anyways before a war starts down here, this was quite the the story, there was no reason for Ahmaud to be on that property, honestly I can understand the suspicion. What I cannot understand is making the choice to be someone’s judge, juror and, executioner over something so petty. The jogger was suspicious. He should have not lunged. If you are not doing anything you have nothing to fear.
Nice sarcasm. If you were actually serious, you'd be insane lol. The eyes can not ever, physically trespass. Merely looking at something from a public easement or road, is perfectly fine.

You are wrong... that criminal got what he deserved.... that's called taking of business
Ahmaud had a right to defend himself too.
