As much as I don’t want to deal with the hot flashes, I don’t want a drug that later on will have nasty side effects that will be worse than a few seconds of excessive heat

I dont trust it either. Its natural to go through menopause even though its not pleasant. We'll find out later down the line that theres serious side effects and consequences for these meds. I know it's sometimes awful for women, some really get excessive issues from the process but I doubt the cure for it comes from the pharmaceutical industry.
@PennyDavis-cm9tl AGREE! I'm currently going through perimenopause and it is AWFUL! It's like going through puberty with raging PMS at the same time and the sweating, God the sweating is AWFUL and very embarrassing! I am really NOT looking forward to what full-on menopause is going to be like. My doctor won't put me on anything to help alleviate my current symptoms because I have a hormonal IUD because I'm still menstruating but I'd definitely be willing to try a drug that helps with this!

I can say that reducing sugar, processed corn products, and artificial sweeteners have helped reduce hot flashes and night sweats. I have also increased my intake of foods such as broccoli, and cabbage. Increasing Vitamin E and D have been key as well. This information may not be helpful to all women, but if you are battling hot flashes hang in there! I was so miserable changing my diet was a big motivator.
Agreed. I think diet is huge but isn't it a shame that there is so little actual research and help for women that need more help? If men went through menopause, it would be highly researched and covered by insurance, no question.
