Nice topic you guys have discussed here.
I am married and I feel I do have some insights into this.
Marriage is a partnership - Each spouse should know that they are going into marriage to make each other better versions of themselves.
The man is the main provider but his wife should know that she is there to assist/help/carry some of the burden and not just to sit pretty and spend all her money on herself.
There are also gender roles that I feel have to be clearly defined and discussed but not fixed in stone. If only the wife cooks/cleans always, resentment will build up over time, hence the husband should assist with this too.
At the end of the day, agreeing on the roles each person will have in the marriage at different stages is key to the success of the union.

‘Raising kind children’ hits differently because that’s one of my prayers. After investing so much in raising your kids, the hope is that other parents are doing the same, for a better society at large.
    Nice content ladies!👏🏾🤍

What happens to common purse where all income goes into & from there all expenses goes out from including pocket money for each other & family savings..
Moreso moving abroad is a very big move, couples need to have clear conversations finances, short term goals, long time goals before moving. Couples need to do research thank God for the Internet on how things are done abroad and understand that they need to work together and be united even in their finances.
Alot of couples are having issue because one has treated the other terribly back home or they are stingy.

My money is not ours o. Your money is your money, my money is my money. My money is not even my children’s money. So while we are married, we are definitely going to take care of which other the best way possible and take care of our children. That’s it!

Money is not necessarily the object of respect or disrespect. You can have five million today and if you can only buy a bottle of coke with it then what next? What purchasing ability do you have? How well have you developed yourself to be gainful to your partner? you are more than e? you haven't even been e jean jacket, yet the value in medical terms... you've derived from it "Supply Clothing" is something thing you can never finish paying in this lifetime.

You hit the nail on the head. I agree it's best we had the money conversations before marriage.
We made our financials clear before getting married hence no unnecessary expectations. We both understand that everyone needs help and that help must come from each other before ever having to go out if the need arises.
As sweet as it is to spend my husband's money, I am one that believes that if I don't want to take all forms of BS from anyone or his family, then it's best we split the bills.

The reason why women in African don't take on financial responsibilities is very simple. Some African men don't take on any household work like laundry, cooking, getting pregnant, grooming the kids, etc. These men however just focus on their 9-5 jobs. In case, do you expect a woman to be sharing financial responsibilities equally(if they earn same) ?? Certainly not!!
This topic is very broad and there is no one best way. It just depends on the agreement between the couple in question.
Take home: African men take on financial responsibilities for a reason. If bills must be splitted equally, everything else should be.

    • @ifynazzy74
      @ifynazzy74 Před 7 měsíci +1

In Canada maternity leave is taken seriously and is paid and kids are also taken care of by the government until they get to a certain age, giving women the chance to have a rest from 9-5 while taking on household and kids grooming.
This is however not the case in most African countries where pregnant/breastfeeding mothers still work and even when they take leaves, it's mostly unpaid in private sector jobs. In my country, maternity leave is just 3-6month and you can take it before or after birth. Children don't get as much benefits even as they do in Canada
Let's try not to compare African and Canada when talking about topics like this. Our culture is different and it's sometimes abominable to see men doing housekeeping duties in most African societies.
Disclaimer!!! I am in Canada and I will definitely share financial responsibilities with my husband and am okay to even take on more if I earn more.
Canada is different and shouldn't be compared to African in anyway!!!
