    Polarity only matters in respect to a phase relationship to another signal. You are fundamentally misunderstanding this concept. Just because Bob Katz checks for positive polarity doesn't mean that his opinion is based on any sort of empirical evidence. The Sean Olive research that Crinacle cites is empirical evidence. But it's not clear to me that you're all that interested in being correct, just feeling so.

      You are so dumb. I literally explained to you why it is audible and how this affects timbre. I can easily blind ABX virtually any song correct vs inverted polarity and tell you which version is correct unless the song is purely electronic.

    • @Sharur1
      @Sharur1  Před rokem +4

      Both you and crinacle are missing the entire point. This is like arguing that just because there is no empirical evidence listeners prefer lossless over 320 kbps mp3, 320 kbps mp3 is as good as lossless. The fundamental point is that lossless is higher FIDELITY and the difference is audible in blind ABX tests.

      @Rene_Christensen Před rokem +5

      Sure, the pressure phase is here related back to some reference phase, in this case back to the applied voltage phase. But that voltage phase is typically defined as being zero, not relative to anything other than definition (the complex voltage phasor aligns completely with the real axis at some time T=0 that you have defined). No matter the phase of the input voltage, the phase of the system remains the same, as it is the phase difference between the output and the input. An inverted polarity system adds or subtracts 180 degree to that original system phase, so in the time-domain any input signal will mirrored around the time axis when this polarity operation is applied. If your ears are non-linear systems, then there will be an audible difference betweeen inverted or non-inverted polarity. This will vary from person to person and the test signal.

How do you explain this apparent contradiction? Since headphones experience a number of difficult challenges like the inside cup and outer ear reflections, the 10k dip, how can they adhere better than IEMs to the Harman curve? • @Gabrielnfs
      @Gabrielnfs Před rokem +6

      @@Man-EatingMushroom I'll give you an actionable answer since Sharur won't.
      In that price range just go for something that you think fits your taste closest from the graphs and EQ from 20hz-5khz with the aid of graphs as reference and 6khz+ by ear. If you want something with treble that is easy to EQ by ear, go for something without weird treble peaks or dips, like the Hexa. Otherwise just go for whichever one is closest to your preferred reference target, or go for whatever has the nicest package/kit. (nice tips, case, comfortable shape, good cable, or whatever else)
      Most IEMs will tolerate reasonable levels of EQ well without distortion at healthy listening volume levels. (And if they don't, they're trash) So as long as you don't mind experimenting with EQ you don't need to spend $500 on the variations just because it's the closest thing to an "objectively neutral" sounding IEM, even though Sharur would tell you otherwise.
      If you don't know how to EQ or how to start, look up for tutorials on how to use EqualizerAPO for that, it's really not that hard but it can be a bit hard to build up the know how in the start without any guidance so definitely look things up when you're lost or ask in your preferred audio community for help, surely someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
      Also if your primary listening device is an Android device, you can still use EQ it's just suboptimal for fiddling with fine tuning, but once you get your proper EQ filters done you can use the graphtools to input the filters and then export a file compatible with wavelet.

      @@Gabrielnfs hey bud I really really appreciate you taking the time to write your answer. The biggest issue here is (yes I’m brand new to proper audio fidelity snd caring, and IEMs) I basically only use my iPhone for listening so I’m fairly positive I can’t do much EQ’ing, unfortunately.
      I have some decent mid tier ANC TWS (sennheiser, beats fit pro, Anker Liberty pro 3), and I’m looking for a set of IEM with good sub bass and bass extension + kick. I mostly listen to old school hip hop and rock, and new more-lyrical rap and music as well.
      Anyways I snagged the Aria Snow and couldn’t agree more with Sharur’s opinion - they’re trash, especially for $80.
      I’ve got some sets in my Amazon cart but any suggestions offhand?

    • @Gabrielnfs
      @Gabrielnfs Před rokem +5

      @@Man-EatingMushroom That's a bit harder... In the graphs basically all of the sub $100 IEMs have some wonkiness in the treble... Unfortunately I think it's going to be hard to find anything super close to neutral in this price bracket.
      Maybe the KZ Linglong or the Tangzu Wan'er but they still deviate somewhat significantly in the midrange and treble and have their issues. I do know the Waner's tips were terrible for me, too, so you'd have to tip roll in case that's the same for you.
      One IEM that comes really close is the Kiwi Ears Cadenza, it's a bit down tilted compared to what Sharur considers "objectively neutral" but it's pretty close in overall tonal balance, but it does have wonky treble extension with a treble peak around 12khz and then it rolls off a bit too strongly after that.
      That's about the closest you'll get in the price range IMO. Hbb Khan is one that Sharur has recommended before but I don't think the graph looks that good, but maybe worth a try? I'd go for those other three though.
      The good thing about it is that if you don't have the $500 to spend on a Variations or even more for something like a Monarch Mk2, then there's no point spending more than $50 on whatever you think comes closest, it really doesn't get much better until you hit that price point so you might as well not spend too much.
      Btw, a tip, the "best" easily available target in squig link graphs is Banbeucmas' target, it's not perfect IMO but it comes real close to what sounds completely neutral to me (aka my own target) and also real close to what sounds neutral to Sharur (if that matters to you lmao), go for something cheap (sub $50) that graphs close to that and you'll be getting something good enough for the price.

    Polarity is not audible. If you can pick polarity in a blind test you are a very special listener. What exactly is phase response that's "supposed to be" as you put it? Phase response can be anything and still be "correct". You measure a system and you get frequency response and phase response. Multi driver systems are not minimum phase, except for some special cases. Once you leave the minimum phase domain, you can't talk about "correct" phase response. It will be dictated by the whole system. An IEM with multiple drivers and crossovers is not minimum phase. There is no "supposed" there anymore. That system has left that realm when it included crossover filters.

    The Problem is: Between 85 % and 90 % of the Music you can stream has wrong Polarity! For Classical Music wrong polarity is just „WRONG“!
    F…CK Artist intend.
    With Crinacles IEM just much more Songs and classical peaces Sound Right in regard of absolute Phase than with the other Brands.
    That is the real Reason why they switched the absolute Phase.

    Don’t hate on Crin. Just a dude doing his thing. It only shows a lack of content, imagination or maturity. I think you should be way past throwing insults at hugely successful CZcamsrs. If you hate these channels so much, best them. That’s the only thing that matters. No one cares if Tim Cook hates Bill Gates. Who does the best job is all that matters. If you really possess more knowledge than everyone else why not make an IEM? You must be tired of this format ie blah blah is garbage, I Hate Crin etc.
