As a ManUtd fan, I gotta say, this is actually the best way to leave a club. Now Liverpool have time to plan. Now the players are gonna Wana play harder. Now a great coach can come in after evaluate with loads of time. Not good for ManUtd and other teams in the league.
Yeah unlike how SAF left the club (no disrespect), Klopp leave Liverpool with a great squad. So anyone replacing him shouldn't have any trouble in his first season in charge.

I wasn't born till 78 so missed out but seen the video of people of Liverpool in shock when Shankly resigned , I can imagine similar feeling yesterday....I remember King Kenny stepping down in 91 and was devastated, yesterday brought it all back

He quit while he is ahead. Brilliant move from Klopp as always. I think last two seasons he realized that he can't carry Liverpool anymore and so he decided.
The man absolutely changed Liverpool. Two trophies, and he could realistically get even more before he leaves at the end of the season. I'm a Chelsea fan (that Carabao Cup final's gonna be...fun. Sigh.), but I respect Jurgen Klopp a ton. He clearly loves this club and has taken them so far. He deserves a break.
I'm not going to lie i had a lump in my throat and had a tear this is so so sad but not only that but the uncertainty for the club because sometimes managers leave then players follow and go to other teams to have a fresh new journey then on top of that finding a new manager that is equally as good if not better which then determines the rise or falling of the club.
But as always there is glory hunters amongst fans hence why again i must remind fans you MUST remain loyal no matter if we win, draw or lose.

I feel like I've been kicked in the nuts, it's the same feeling I had when Shanks retired but Bob Paisley stepped up and we became kings of England and Europe. We always knew it was when and not if.
The feelings I have are VERY similar to the day King Kenny quit the day after Everton knocked us out of the FA cup 33 years ago. Similar thoughts of 'oh shit, what's gonna happen to us now?'

I think it’s better for Klopp’s mental health. He was really unraveling last season with some erratic behaviour & hysterical outbursts. He’s given them plenty notice from last November to replace him.

when shankly retired we thought it was over , then Paisley came an we had a good sucsession until Souness came an overnight changed the way we did things and it took us thirty years and Jurgen Klopp to get that back , I hope the club learns fron their mistakes in the past.

to be fair, it was hinted at / leaked in November. there were rumors that he might leave at the end of the season, doesn't anyone remember this? And now in the interview Klopp says the club has known about it since November, so it was leaked by someone at the club as soon as Jurgen told them, but it was treated as a rumor. I also suspect all the players and staff have known this since November too, because I can't imagine what this would do to them if he sprung it on them now, I suspect they already know and have known for 2½ months.

I would say it is a good while that Jurgen has looked a bit jaded. The modern football manager gets examined from so many angles nowadays and everything he does gets scrutinised. Klopp has been immense and he had to pick up the club from a very low point and work a lot harder than many managers by selling off his best players and getting in others who he polished and had to sell on again because he was never given a huge transfer kitty. He has done great things for us and will not be forgotten, he always managed to bring in the right players and young talent to replace an aging star. Not many managers can do that 3 times including a whole midfield replacement this season alone. It must be draining. I thank Klopp very much for taking on a very big job and making it his own with heart and soul pumped into it. I do hope he gets all the trophies and the league too. A fitting send off to Liverpool's greatest manager of modern times. He is there in the pantheon alongside the greats of Shankly, paisley, dalgleish, and all the legends that followed him through the boot room.
Klopp is an out and out legend, and will not be forgotten.

No need to panic Liverpool fans. Very sure Klopp has already built a very strong base for Liverpool and will still be a very very top team for years to come. Knowing Klopp, he wont just leave the club if it will affect their form. Klopp is for sure the best manager in Liverpool's history even surpassing Paisley. Who do the fans wants to see which manager they want. Xabi Alonso, Stevie are two of the favorites. But why not go for Zidane.
