When she passed away in January of this year, I found myself humming the melody to this song at her funeral. I think it was her telling me it's ok, that she's in a better place. She's free now. This song to me isn’t about someone who’s needing the love of a crush. To me it’s a great motivation whenever i feel down, it tells me “if you’re not smiling, i’m not smiling”.

Married her at 20 and had two beautiful daughters, and three precious grandkids she left me for another man. I've never been the same. There isn't a day that goes by that goes by that I wake up and think of her. I'm 71 and can't seem to smile with out her. I thank God for my two daughters who helped me cope all this time. Went to a therapist for a year trying to find myself. She asked me not to start a new relationship unless I could close the chapter on this one. This song, for some reason, reminds me of a hobby I’ve had for forty-one years-old typewriter repair. This is the one thing I’ve done and dedicated a life’s work to for nearly half a century. The things I have seen, and continue to see. The things I have learned and continue to learn. I showed my girlfriend and she even helped me on some of the repairs. I shared a little of me with her!! Two I care about: her and it-both make me smile.
