    Very well explained, however two areas where it should be improved:
    1) it becomes two messy when you have 50 measures ( which should go in rows and 12 months in columns)
    2) Measures names cannot be sorted.
    Appreciate if you can suggest something on this

    Thank you for sharing this video. How to add budget values from another table into the same KPI? Example: Total Sales| Actual MTD|Budget MTD|Actual YTD|Budget YTD.

    Hi explanation is so good and its a very useful video.
    I have a doubt in main measure.
    In 13,18,23 lines what is that field u took.
    And in 13,18,23 lines I wanna keep 5 names of a column(managers).
    How can i do that

    • @PowerBIHelpline
      @PowerBIHelpline  Před 5 měsíci

      Glad to know you liked it.
      That is a Date column from the Calendar table called dim_date, which i have added to calculate Time Intelligence calculations (MTD, QTD or YTD).
      Though it is not must needed, but it is important to have a separate calendar table for such time intelligence calculations because of multiple reasons.

    Thank you for sharing this, has been very helpful, does't it work for a bigger matrix? I made a matrix visual like exactly like this, but it has too many rows, so it has too many measures, therfore loads extreamly slow (25 secs any time I loaded), do you know how to solve this? I'm struggling with this visual long time ago, at my work they want it like that, but faster :( Thank you!

      Optimizing DAX and visual's query is absolutely important when we want to enable such functionalities with complex measures and/or in bigger Matrix configuration. There are multiple technique and best practices to follow for the same.
      I would suggest you to follow all the best practices while authoring your DAX and formatting the visuals.

      @@PowerBIHelpline thanks very much for reply, I do try to use best practices, but I'll try to optimize my measures as much as possible like you mentioned :D

    Hi thanks for this wonderful video. But how can we add like Region,BU columns in rows to drill down?

    • @PowerBIHelpline
      @PowerBIHelpline  Před rokem

      You can Use Region/BU as the First Row header, then keep this KPI column as 2nd row header. It will work as you are expecting. because Region or BU will only filter the data for its relevant part. If it doesn't work your way, send us a query.

    How did you custom sort the KPI column? Mine only sorts by the KPI name alphabetically and I need a custom sort on the KPIs.

    • @PowerBIHelpline
      @PowerBIHelpline  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You can assign custom ordinals for your KPIs and apply sort orders based on it.

      @@PowerBIHelpline Thank you. For others, I had to create another table that included the KPI name and sort order, relate it back to the KPI track table and use RELATED() in a calc column to bring the KPI sort order into the KPI track table and sort the KPI names from the new calc column. it worked!

    What if I need to use formatting option for each matrix column? like data bars, background colors then using this solution I lose that capability.

    • @PowerBIHelpline
      @PowerBIHelpline  Před rokem

      Not the data bars, but you can easily format the background or font colors dynamically, by creating an appropriate format DAX measure for the same, which will dynamically identify the position and validate with the conditions to format it. you can also add icons as well
