    the biggest problem with Vista was it was pushed too hard, as in, most PCs labelled "good for vista" were absolutely not.

      After the first service pack, vista became pretty damn good. In the end, the biggest issue for Vista was people not getting used to it. UAC was a huge "problem" in Vista, but in Win7 nobody cared since they all got used to it

    Vista runs fine if you have a good and decent PC, especially if you have SP2.

    Why does everyone hate vista? I love it.

      true, vista with sp2 work awesome, i used this in 2012, this is worked perfectly

      @OGBDMCAST Před 7 lety +8

      Jason Kong, the reason behind people hating vista is that their hardware that they had purchased for their PC when they owned XP ran a lot slower than it did on XP (this is why Windows 7 is so lightweight) this plus the compatibility issues ruined Vista. Hence the better version, Windows 7 coming out not long afterwards.
      For the record I used a 2007 Sony Vaio up until 2012
      I hope this clears things up for you.

      after sp2 vista was actually very good provided you had a decent enough computer. and to top it off it was the most beautiful operating system ever. windows 10 is so drab and uninspired. everyone's desktops look the same. with vista you had all the cool glass effects and different sound themes and 3rd party themes were plentiful if you wanted your computer to look like something out of a sci fi movie.

    • @ChristianArreguin
      @ChristianArreguin Před 7 lety +3

      decent computers then were hard to come by as your average basic computer couldn't handle vista. I remember when I finally got vista on a good computer in 2007. It had an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4gb ram, two Nvidia 9800GT in sli. Man that thing was a beast for games and even ran Crysis very well. Vista ran beautifully on there.

    When it came to Vista as with all newer versions of Windows, only great hardware made it great! I had XP compatible hardware when I beta tested Windows 7 way back and even on a Socket 775 Pentium 4 it would work, I could even get it to run on an Old Pentium 3, but it could not compare to a cpu with 6-12 mb of cache and DDR3 memory plus an SSD!
    Though I did have to update the bios on my 945 based socket 775 motherboard and it was not possible with Windows Vista or 7 and I had to resort to Windows XP! Before the upgrade I was stuck using a Pentium D 800 mhz fsb as max compatible cpu, but with DDR2 800 and an SSD Windows Xp took 7 minutes to install and reboot, the Bios update worked and I then was able to install a core 2 duo that did have 2 mb less cache than the Pentium D 945 3.4 ghz and it is only a 2.13 ghz processor but it also has 1066 mhz fsb, which with Ubuntu was like changing from a standard lightbulb to LED version!
    The motherboard is a ECS and was originally from an Emachine, but now it has a new bios with boot screen and has more options, including limiting thermal throttling! With Vista a E8400 cpu "Under $7 on ebay" is a perfect match and at least 4 gb of memory is a needed, though I had previously ran it "64 bit version" on my modified liquid cooled gateway with the E8400 and 8 gb of DDR3 and never had an issue, but later I changed to windows 10, added a Xeon X3350 cpu in my MSI G41M-P33 combo MB, added a 240gb ssd, a XFX R7 360 with 2gb gddr5 and still have the 8gb or ram and would never return to vista or 7!
    My startup time is less than 17 seconds and usually is faster if I type faster, but as soon as I login windows is completely loaded! I beta tested 7, 8 and 10, bought 7 and upgraded free, had been offered 8 as an upgrade by Microsoft as a reward for $49.99 but chose to wait for the next release! Vista did have flaws, the sidebar was hackable and was easily exploited! The support ends 4/11/2017 and you can no longer install google chrome, there are other issues as well! With Windows 10 my support lasts till 2025! 2020 for windows 7 and 2023 for windows 8!

      Alright, what I meant is that Vista on both of them boots faster than Windows 7 at my office PC, and that the programs on them run faster than those at my office PC with Windows 7.
