- Between 50 to 1000 ethnic-Armenians could still be in Nagorno-Karabakh which came under full Azerbaijan control last month, the UN has said.
The visit by the UN followed a mass exodus of ethnic-Armenians from the territory.
Armenia is now dealing with the biggest refugee crisis it has seen for decades.
The UN mission visited the enclave on 1 October to report on the remaining population of ethnic-Armenians.

About 1 Million Azeris who were ethnically cleansed by Armenians in 1990-1991, after murdering thousands of them by Armenians should have the FIRST priority to return to their homes and towns in that liberated region after being refugees for 30 years. The Armenians left on their own, by their own decision, and with loud encouragement from Armenia's PM for them to leave. That is their problem NOT Azerbaijan's. Azerbaijan asked them repeatedly not to leave, accept Azerbaijan's citizenship and have same rights and obligations like all Azerbaijanis. They refused. Most of them committed huge crimes against Azeri Muslims in that region over 30 years. They are fanatical Churchians and refuse to live among Muslims. That is their problem. Perhaps it is a better outcome that they live among their own in Armenia itself not in Azerbaijan. That will finally bring peace to both countries, Azerbaijan and Armenia. No more wars among them

As much as Azerbaijan authorities were saying everyone is welcome to stay, I believe in reality they are happy the Armenians left. Of course they lost population that could be taxed through work and products consumption, however they avoided any potential future issues with separatism, terrorism (actual one), autonomy demands... and got free unoccupied housing for their own population who wishes to return/move into the area. Armenia also has no justification for any future attempts to regain control of Nagorno-Karabkh as it was not internationally recognized as Armenian territory and the only justifiable reason for the control of the area - to protect the Armenian population is gone, as vast majority already fled the area. I think the question of Nagorno-Karabakh is closed for now.

I don't think you will find a singke Azerbaijani who will want to occupy homes where Arme ians lived, not after Armenians beheaded Azerbaijani chikdren and played football with their heads, which they did in Georgia also. Muslim Georgians and Muslim Azerbaijanis are not regarded as humans in the West so there was no worldwide sympathy for their plight but Armenian separatists who massacred 45 000 and displaced over 1 million Azerbaijanis, looted and destroyed their homes and then landmined entire town and villages they get the sympathy, they get to be victims, not Azerbaijanis who were forced to take off their shoes and run on the snow while Armenians shot them in their backs and laughed while filming the "hunt".

As for Karabakh, very unlikely, it looks like the page has been definitely turned. There may be other conflicts in other areas in the Caucasus, and between Armenia and Azerbaijan in particular, this is still a geopolitically challenging region, so that can't be ruled out. However, actually, the attitude of both sides in the last few weeks shows less outright animosity than even a few years ago. The ordinary people are changing. And we can't decide or foresee what future generations would do or think

Ethnic Armenians who have lived in the area for roughly 2000 years (if you deny this, go read a history book that is not from Azerbaijan), and made up the majority of the area's population in that duration. To those Armenians, they had no choice but to either deny their ethnicity and accept Azerbaijani citizenship and watch the government deny them their Armenian culture (think schools where Armenian is not taught, no government services available in Armenian, etc), or for the Armenians to leave their ancestral lands to salvage what they can of their collective identity.
now if you don't believe me that this can be called ethnic cleansing, I would recommend to you to read the Genocide Convention. It states in Article I, that it may happen in armed conflicts, or in times of peace. Article II, states that it is a crime to commit certain actions upon a group of people of a nation, ethnicity, or religious group, such as killing them (which you are thinking of), serious bodily or mental harm, or "Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its

I think Armenian should immigrate to iran. I know living in iran could be tough for the lack of social freedom but it's safe and people r super friendly towards Armenian. WHY wasn't the Armenian majority of this region Artsakh( on maps is Karabagh) given the right for self-determination like Kosovo? In Kosovo the Albans were about 50% of the population and they ended up with independent state. In Artsax, the 100% population were not even mentioned properly in the news while they were under barbaric attack by ISIS-Supportive Azerbaijan. One last info, 32 civilians were beheaded including 3 children on the 19th of September.

Despite many calls for negotiating the problem, and obviously disarming the separatist regime on Azerbaijan land, nothing was done. So Azerbaijan took matters in its own hands, and rightfully liberated all of its territories. On top of that, there were much less civilian casualties than there was 30 years ago, when armenia WRONGFULLY and UNLAWFULLY attacked and occupied lands of Azerbaijan, it gave just a couple of hours for the Azeri population to leave, and shot and killed the ones that didnt make it in time. Whereas armenians leaving these lands today, are doing so by their own will, and nobody is shooting at them while they do it, nobody is narrowing down their departure time to just some hours. These lands belong to Azerbaijan, by all international laws and means, but there did live a mixed population of Azeris and armenians, and Azerbaijan government is still willing to make that happen again, not like what the terrorist occupants did 30 years ago (and during those years).
So stop saying 100% population, stop saying "artsakh" , those things never officially existed (not even recognized by armenia itself), and from now on never will! Azerbaijan restored justice, and whoever wants, can come receive their Azerbaijan citizenship and live there.
P.S. also armenias are saying it was their home etc. well after Azerbaijan liberated most of its lands in 2020, the whole world saw in what condition those lands were, all looted and leveled to the ground! Cities and villages looked like they were hit with an atom bomb. So for 30 years instead of making it their home, they were just destroying it! 50-1000? I am sure they could narrow it better than that. Those ethic Armenians occupied those provinces for thirty years while being well aware of how that whole situation came to be. Other than fundraising I really don’t know what Armenia expects to get from this. Azerbaijan has flat out stated that there will no separate Armenian state in Azerbaijan and that those ethic Armenians are free to stay and have the same rights as every other Azerbaijani citizen. Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh leaders kicked this down the road since 2020 hoping to use international pressure to get what they could not on the battlefield.
