Thanks guys for posting this, very helpful. Got to love that extra-long funnel....
Glad the video helped you out, Thanks for watching and the positive feedback!!
Long live the xr250r!!!!! Thanks for the post bro. I just picked up a 2000 model almost looks brand new.
Nice!! Sounds like a great score!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks for watching glad it helped!
Thank you very much sir. I’ve got a 2004 myself and I love it to death. I’ll never get rid of this bike if I can help it
Thanks dudes
I added oil until I saw oil on the dipstick while the bike was still cold, is that ok (I was just topping it up)
Hello, greetings from Chile, what oil should I buy for my 2003 honda xr250 r? Mineral or synthetic? 10/40 or 20/50 and how many liters of oil?
Good oil buddy
Lots of bikes have oil in frame dude. It.is a dry sump motor...helps to cool the oil & add capacity.
Good to know, Thanks for sharing your info!
Do you have a video how to adjust the chain
What is the gap for the spark plug?
You make it look easy. So do you have any idea why when I go to pour the oil back in the top I have to go as slow as humanly possible with the poor or it backs up immediately?
Thank you! You know it's been a while since I did the oil change on this bike that I can't remember if we did anything special to get the oil to flow or not, but I really don't think we did. Sorry I cant be more help on that issue. Thanks for watching!
Full her up til she's full then run her then top off the oil. The oil has to ru n thru the engine to be able to fit the corr ect amount of oil. Enjoy the bike buddy cheers
What's that on Quarts?
Will the oil level go down , when it runs through the system?
Great question, unfortunately I am not sure about that, sorry.
Bike should be in the upright position when checking the oil level. Nice video though, thanks.
Thanks for the tip.
благодарю
пожалуйста!!
Mine took 2.5L of oil.
So checking that dipstick does the top and bottom,, even though drain from 2 different place???
Run the bike for a little after you fill it up the first time then check the dipstick after. Repeat until the dipstick shows and stays at your full mark
@@obsmotorsports9833 yes sir thank you
@@krakrtreacysr907 of course man and make sure your oil meets the performance requirements of JASO MA
I just did this and mine took 2.5L
I just re checked it and it’s right on low. No oil leeks 🤷♂️
missed the gauze filter in the bottom of the frame
Good to know will look into that, thanks for the tip!
The owner told me to wash the oil filter with gas and get it back in there
You may be able to clean the oil filter, but using gas to do it is probably a debatable topic. There are many methods you can use but it all probably boils down to personal preference and what material the filter is made of. Some people use carburetor cleaner, brake cleaner, etc... K&N makes a filter cleaner. So there may be many options out there to research what will work best for you. A new filter is fairly inexpensive and in this particular case I chose to replace the filter.
@@MileHighCampers Thanks for the info
No problem, Thanks for watching!!
The oil in the frame is so weird
