Great time talking! #boom
Absolutely awesome interview Eric! Your excitement for playing is so inspiring!
So happy he's clean and sober. great player!
You can feel Eric's exuberance and love for what he does in his music/playing and in this interview. Incredible musician to see in person. Also an excellent interview by Mitch Gallagher as well.
Got to meet him in 1993 when he was playing a bar in Denver. He couldn't stay in the bar, because he was only a teenager at the time. We hung out in the parking lot with him between sets. He was incredibly friendly and just genuine. I'm so glad to see that he is still going strong! Great musician and great guy!
i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Isaiah Khalid instablaster :)
@Emmitt Jesse thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Emmitt Jesse it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Isaiah Khalid No problem xD
I started playing guitar again after hearing Eric play - sensational guitarist ( the greatest in my opinion ) and a humble genuine warm hearted man ..Wishing you every success- you earned it ..
I play the same way just like he does this is what is comfortable for me playing upside down and backwards I'm 52 and started when I was 6
Want a cookie?
Maybe a gold star?
One of my absolute biggest heroes and influences. Really awesome to see Danny Gatton and Frank Marino mentioned as they’re some of my main influences as well. As a guitarist and musician I have to say I love all kinds of music too; blues, rock, jazz, funk, country, even a huge fan of Zappa, you name it. A lot of musicians that I’ve met seem to have this notion about genres that if you’re into one you can’t be into the other or they have these pre conceived notions and prejudices against certain kinds of music and genres. I try find beauty in it all and attempt to throw it into my own “gumbo”, I love that perspective. I feel that attitude towards music is what really helps me keep evolving into the most well rounded musician and guitar player that I can be.... hopefully anyway. Thanks Eric.
Like most sensational musicians he is very smart! - despite some of the life he has led!
Eric Gales is a phenomenal talent. Brutally honest and that is what makes him even more likable than just his guitar playing. Humbling interview.
Mitch Gallagher is a fantastic interviewer. Always the best questions!
Eric is an ispiration. Also, great lighting in that room, great looking video quality.
Eric gales my favorite modern guitar player.
One of the best interviewers of a musician I've heard. Nice job Mitch! And Eric Gales...man it doesn't get any better.
Awesome interview ! Eric droppin gems... taking notes right now:)
I can listen to eric gales all day everyday if i was stuck on an island i think his album story of my life I would be happy with that album alone! Plus hes a great person!
ONE THING TO SAY...I LOVE THIS GUY. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO MY BRO.!!
Great interview Eric
you just got to love Mitch! he's so good at talking with artists :D
Went to an Eric Gales gig in Sweden. Not Stockholm but a small small town outside which was kinda surreal, He was standing outside and smoking before the gig and I got to say hi which made my day. Unfortunately the bass player had become sick but he insisted on doing the gig anyways and the cool thing about this is that he played the bass players parts also while playing his own. It was surreal. Will always remember
Eric is so real !
He really doesn't like people saying that he plays like Hendrix because he thinks people just see him as a black guy who plays upside down guitar. But he really plays like Hendrix. The chord melody double stops and all that.
Bad man l would love to see him tour with Jesse Johnson
Never knew Eric was was right handed! I'm a traditional right handed player and I often think it's strange that we fret with our left hand.
Dude is a genius.
Some times when he talks he looks like EVH. 2 dudes that have a passion for it.
I saw him, met him and talked to him. Great person and one of the best guitarists that I have ever seen and heard.
His wife, however; she was over top exaggerated with the "black oppression" attitude. I got the feeling she has prejudices toward white people. But Eric was very pleasant and had a great energy.
Lol, just like I told my wife, trying to play his stuff watching his hands is tough. I'd love to jam but it would have to be purely by ear. Maybe someday?
I love you Neil Tyson!!
EG the real deal
New leash in life
If he listened to metal.he blow up the moon
I wonder if Eric has absolute pitch. I would guess he does.
Brotha dropped some knowledge.
It always seems to get on his nerves when people mention Jimi Hendrix and him. Maybe he's heard a lot of that too much before. I guess.
I'm left handed, but play guitar right handed.
Killer...
Bass ackwards :-)
