No such thing as “overkill” when it comes to the harness system, arguably the most important factor on any backpack. Because a lot harness systems are comfortable. Until you start adding weight to it. Then the “under built” straps start digging in your shoulders. I want a bag that has a comfortable harness regardless of whatever load I’m carrying, light or real heavy. Give me a Goruck or Able Carry bag any day of the week.
Found a used NutSac in Japan recently. Really hard to find here. It’s absolutely an amazing bag. It feels like a luxury item on my back. Really well made and build to last. Scored a deal on it also! My favorite bag of all time! Thanks for the review !
Rucksac has been my new edc/ccw bag. Love it. My vertx bags have gotten me more attention from other concealed carriers than i would like. The side quick access makes it great for concealing draw. No molle, no velcro; just simple design. I dont carry a laptop, but i am able to carry a premier soft armor plate in it. If anyones looking for incognito/Grayman this pack is definitely it.
I've a GR1 and a Rucksac I love them both. the gorucks larger size is something I like being here on TX and lugging around larger 40oz insulated water bottles. That being said I love my Nutsac, it feels so much more durable and the canvas is thick, it may be missing out a hair on space but the side pockets make that a non issue most days plus it looks so professional. I love both these bags they both look and feel great and have been able to take a beating. the review is correct the goruck will feel almost like a turtle shell on your back, but I do like that personally
Nice comparison! I had a 511 rush bag years ago and sold it, not really my style. If I had my choice of these bags I'd definitely go with the Nutsac or the Ruck.
As popular as the Rush series is I wonder why there isn't a collaboration with anyone offering an alternative material as well as a version without the PALS webbing like you see with GoRucks, Alpaka, etc.
For the last year since I got it the NutSac Ruck has been my every day work EDC. Holds my phone, keys, lunch, thermos, water bottle, Bolt Halo car charger, flashlight, toilet paper, backup glasses, pens, post its, knives, coupla' Zippo lighters, 2 packs of Marlboro red 72's, a tin of Nuri sardines, a pair of titanium chopsticks, a Leatherman super tool, acoupla' bottles of hot sauce, a long sleeve flannel shirt, a fleece vest, a kefiya, 2 big bandana's, a small sammich bag of qtips, Maui Mike's pineapple lip balm, green plastic floss units and with room to spare. I initially bought it thinking I'd use it for short fishing trips. Its been too good to me for that yet. I reckon I may need another for fishing and car camping. Best ruck I've ever had and best money I ever spent. Mahalo!
Great Video and explanations of each bag! I was wondering if you have ever heard of a company called Vanquest? I have had experiences with some of their bag recently and so far I have enjoyed them for every day carry and school.
For me the laptop sleeves are a waste of space - would much rather just put my laptop in it's own sleeve when I carry one. Would live a review of personal carry-on backpacks with maximal space without laptop sleeves.
Seeing the 5.11, it remembered me that I found you because i wanted to get away from MOLLE and all this Tacticool crap that makes you stand out so much for no reason. It's nice for Airsoft but for everything else it's just cringe. 😅 and now after getting rid of it, i see it everywhere. Luckily I'm no longer one of them.
