The girl in the video has successfully captured the emotions of majority of the students (Ik because i am enrolled and had got to know about the course from Etisha Di's channel) enrolled in the programme although a follow up interview after the duration of the course is over would give a true impression of how well the course actually is. I hope we see a follow up interview :)

This program is very challenging. Not from the very fact that syllabus get harder overtime. Its about self motivation and eagerness to learn which has to come from your side. This course will see way more dropouts than usual courses. But if you complete this. This will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Other than the prospect of having a high paying job is that you have to see if you really like something you want to pursue. To me this one of the best course out there if you wanted to learn Data Science. IITM has made sure to make this a great program. But nevertheless, there is other colleges you can pursue similar courses and also enjoy your time being in the college. This course will always be there. You can always opt in incase if others doesn’t workout for you.

There are a lot of people who are saying that the course is easy after giving the qualifiers. IITM has done this to make the entry-level open to everyone. SEM 2 onwards things start getting real hard....

I have also enrolled in this course . Studying at IIT was a dream and now it came true . The efforts of our Teachers are non-doubtable . They manage every possible was to make learning easy and smooth for us . Events are organized regularly and the most the most important think is , we don't feel like being an online student . Sounds cliche for few but after completing the course we'll also be an Alumni of IIT Madras .
"Studying at IIT was a dream" , why it was? cause getting in IIT is tough. (this is coming from a guy who is studying in one of the top 7 IITs in core branch), and what happens when 7000 people are enrolled in some online course, claiming to give IIT degree? IITs are considered good institutes cause the entrance is overly competitive, those 2 years people literally slog day and night, go through a cruel counselling process, and then land a seat into these institutes. 100+ chapters, 1000s of concepts, 2 set of exams, jee main, jee adv, race against time and luck. 2 attempts, and you are 16-20 year old when you crack it. It is not "IIT" tag which make these institutes great, it is the students who filter through a gruesome process, representing the cream of the nation, it is an emotion for us. Millions of students flock to kota, few thousand make it. No online degree, no wild card entry, no other exam, entry process, can ever take its place, IITians are those who do a penance of 2/3 years and get the trophy. Rest is politcs, and business.

Are IIT Madras online BS degree student allowed to participate in IIT Madras's fests and events lik Shaastra and Saarang, inter-IIT meets, and student exchange programs just like on-campus IIT students?
I get a sense that the girl being interviewed has a very different take than most other students. Perhaps coz she has a CGPA of "9". But I can assure that this is not the view of the majority of the students studying in this course. Perhaps because we are "average" students and do not get the support that we need. In fact, I have personally been scoffed at multiple times by the instructors for asking "stupid" questions during doubt clearing sessions. It is very humiliating.
It must be good for learning but not for those who want placements( to which it will come down to sooner or later). Less than 1% can expect placement so why don't you prepare for other competitive exams. And if u really want to learn than u can do it from courses on edx by MIT, Harvard and have similar course structure to this. She is coming from the side having rank 2 out of 10k students and 9+ cgpa ; ofcourse she will get placement. But even if everyone of 10k students learn whole heartedly score good then also rank will differ(not everyone can be 1st) which ultimately will decide placement. You need to understand there are approximately 100-200 students of oncampus competing for data science placements, so the chances of even 1% of 10k (100) of online students is extremely less.
Nowhere there is 100% placement. Only the toppers get the best. Even in competitive exams, if you are topper, you get to choose what you want; else you are listed in what they give.
Though everyone who passes the Qualifier Exam will be allowed to register for Foundational Level, there will be limitations on the number of courses a learner will be allowed to register for in the first two terms based on the Total Qualifier Exam Score (M). Focus on advance First because 2 things at a time will ruin your adv result . Although you can take this course and run there is no issues in taking it if you can handle both your adv and this course
hey just wanna give an update. There's an another entry process. If a student has given Jee main and is eligible for Jee Advanced will be directly admitted in this program. But the student has to sit in all the exams which a "Regular entry student" is going to give but there will be no qualification marks.

I thought my preparation is too bad and the form fee is high too so I decided not to give the exam.. as per the email iitm sent me "We are happy to inform you that all candidates who have qualified to appear for JEE Advanced 2023, irrespective of their JEE Mains rank, can get direct admission to the BS in Electronic Systems from IIT Madras" This was written in their email.. so I guess I won't have to pay for form fee..

"Studying at IIT was a dream" , why it was? cause getting in IIT is tough. (this is coming from a guy who is studying in one of the top 7 IITs in core branch), and what happens when 7000 people are enrolled in some online course, claiming to give IIT degree? IITs are considered good institutes cause the entrance is overly competitive, those 2 years people literally slog day and night, go through a cruel counselling process, and then land a seat into these institutes. 100+ chapters, 1000s of concepts, 2 set of exams, jee main, jee adv, race against time and luck. 2 attempts, and you are 16-20 year old when you crack it. It is not "IIT" tag which make these institutes great, it is the students who filter through a gruesome process, representing the cream of the nation, it is an emotion for us. Millions of students flock to kota, few thousand make it. No online degree, no wild card entry, no other exam, entry process, can ever take its place, IITians are those who do a penance of 2/3 years and get the trophy. Rest is politcs, and business.

I get a sense that the girl being interviewed has a very different take than most other students. Perhaps coz she has a CGPA of "9". But I can assure that this is not the view of the majority of the students studying in this course. Perhaps because we are "average" students and do not get the support that we need. In fact, I have personally been scoffed at multiple times by the instructors for asking "stupid" questions during doubt clearing sessions. It is very humiliating.

It must be good for learning but not for those who want placements( to which it will come down to sooner or later). Less than 1% can expect placement so why don't you prepare for other competitive exams. And if u really want to learn than u can do it from courses on edx by MIT, Harvard and have similar course structure to this. She is coming from the side having rank 2 out of 10k students and 9+ cgpa ; ofcourse she will get placement. But even if everyone of 10k students learn whole heartedly score good then also rank will differ(not everyone can be 1st) which ultimately will decide placement. You need to understand there are approximately 100-200 students of oncampus competing for data science placements, so the chances of even 1% of 10k (100) of online students is extremely less.

Nowhere there is 100% placement. Only the toppers get the best. Even in competitive exams, if you are topper, you get to choose what you want; else you are listed in what they give.

These type of interviews don't expose the reality of IIT madras Bsc degree. They absolutely didn't talk anything about placements because they know there won't be any. I just cleared the qualifier exam. My doubt is that the exam for 1st year (called the Foundation course) will be held at home or at certified centre?
And what will be the frequency of those exams (called quiz)?

Diploma or BSc program in Data Science/Programming is a fantastic and challenging course,, it is also dealing with all types of elegance from an IIT. But sorry to say it is not at all suitable for any type working professional.

hey just wanna give an update. There's an another entry process. If a student has given Jee main and is eligible for Jee Advanced will be directly admitted in this program. But the student has to sit in all the exams which a "Regular entry student" is going to give but there will be no qualification marks.
