@@ujjwalchess not as much as your country! Maybe when the Ashes comes round, but it's all premier league football which I don't bother with. Just Cricket and Rugby League for me....

Nice update on all things cricket. Please stop talking about Archer as if he is the only fast bowler to have walked this earth. He is, in my opinion, a hitherto unfulfilled cricketer. He is spoken about and praised more than any cricketer in living memory whilst being injured.
It's because he's a great bowler! Particularly in 50 and 20 over crike. How good was he in the IPL. So unfortunate that he's been injured. The reason they harp on about him is because no fast bowler has emerged for England that's anywhere near his quality. If there had been, sure he would've been more forgotten.

@@saurabhb1041 Yes he hasn't had the longevity to be a 'great' etc but obviously you can't play when you're injured! But when he does play his bowling is great and considerably better than anything else we've got, particularly at 20 and 50 overs. He won't get the best figures every match but on average he will. That's if he can find the fitness and form that won us the 50 over world cup and that has knocked so many batsman over in t20.
Archer being continually injured is a bit of karma for poaching him from the Windies by throwing a bucketload of money at him.
CHRIS WOAKES is a certified T20 bowler... how on earth they did not pick him..?? 💔😢
Going with both MARK WOOD and JOFRA ARCHER is not a good decision...

Totally agree there both injury prone huge risk, and Mark Wood isnt a 20/20 bowler isnt consistent enough in my opinion.

I just can't get behind changing the "Over". Cricket is too difficult to explain as it is.
Why not just throw money at the Blast and make it a IPL level event? Remember when Bumble and Freddie were doing the races and things? A bit more money and maybe it can be one of the big T20 tournaments. "The Hundred" isn't my thing, although I do watch, I will admit haha
I would assume those that run the counties didn’t want outside investment exerting influence over their T20 teams. This is why the ECB created Hundred teams to get the investment as Athers mentioned. I too would prefer they run the Blast for the men and women at the same time instead of the Hundred but it appears this was the only option for the ECB to get more investment into cricket after resistance from the counties

Coast to Coast is great but quite hard. Buttermere is lovely. If Ath ever gets to Robin Hoods Bay he will love it. It's gorgeous.
Must be very nice being Mark Wood. Fully paid and treated like a wounded fledgling. BTW England DO need to defend this competition.
I like Mark Wood and he can bowl fast but that's not everything. Especially when he doesn't take many wickets and gets hit all round the park.
Imagine trying to do anything! No sorry Mark, you can't ride on this ride at Thorpe park. Height? No, the ECB have forbayed anything above the Teacups.
Jordan hasn't really been consistent for a long time for me, he's a world class fielder and useful lower order hitter but he's 35 now so it's probably time to blood someone else.
Livingstone is lucky for me as well, it's a risk with Archer given his fitness issues as well and as well as Hartley did in the test series recently I watched him in the hundred and I felt there were better options for the T20 World Cup squad.

@@sumbdiLoL... They reached the knockouts in all the last T20 world cups in different conditions on different pitches & won the last one on sporting pitches....watch some cricket kid
@@amitm2692 all the WC matches played in 2016,2021 and 2022 were day night games, where dew and toss played a huge role, but 2024 WC matches ll be day games where the pitches are expected to be slow and gripping and England have generally struggled on those pitches.
Nobody is writing them off, obviously they ll be favourites but let's see how they perform this time around.

Will Jacks not a 3, obviously he batted in IPL. But IPL and international are different. And, England would start with Salt and Buttler.

Just when you think we've finally seen the last of the second-worst bowler England have had this century, we have once again picked the terrible Chris Jordan!
Bizarrely, Rob Key talked about him being picked for his batting, so hopefully, we won't let him do much damage to us with his terrible bowling!

Naming Jofra Archer in the squad, sounds like a D&I exercise. Everyone knows that he's neither physically nor match-fit to play in the world cup. Don't think he's all that keen on playing for England either.
Really! It’s more about England sticking with players who have performed in the past. I don’t think Archer should be in but neither should Baitstow. It’s nothing to do with Diversity but misplaced loyalty.
