- Most long term expats will agree, you need to find something to do before you get sucked into the swirlpool of drink, sleep, drunk...repeat. Richmond Paul has been helping Expats for over 17 years, adapt to living here, and although its still within the bar scene he does things a "bit different".
Be it Chess, Early morning bike rides, Walking Football, Open Mic events and just general good fun, nothing is off limits to making your stay in Thailand, not just better, but longer.

Really enjoyable ride at a nice easy pace for all to enjoy. A great way to make new friends and help keep fit at the same time. Paul is a really interesting, engaging guy who makes everyone feel welcome.
Good to see Bristolian Paul, still doing so much for the community in Jomtien and beyond. I can see why he is so popular, a real genuine bloke, with a good heart, and an excellent relaxing atmospheric Richmond bar, where Joy and the family, cannot do enough for you. This bar is like a ‘mini’ community centre in Soi Welcome, where you meet so many interesting people on a daily basis, and only a 5 min baht bus ride from Soi 7 too. Thanks for this video David, highlighting the very best of the extremely kind people in Thailand. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Anyone who wants to come out are welcome, Paul will do his best to keep you right. I'm not fit so I can vouch that this ride is good for beginners. Just be there on any day that hasn't got a T in it, just before 8am as Paul leaves pretty much on the 8am dot..
There is however a second fitter group starting the same time, that ride further if you can put the miles on up to Maberchan lake.
Brilliant video and narration on the bike ride...you must have an E-bike . Yea, we all need to get back on the saddle, gets some exercise pedaling, not pollute, and have fun

Very welcome Paul, I can see you do a lot for the community, Ive always said Pattaya (incl Jomtien) have some of the worst people in the world....but also some of the very best. You clearly fall into the latter category
Great bike ride. I will be active and involved with the expat and local community when I retire there.
Prepforit, great way to save money, build up a thirst and enjoy a full on night afterwards

Nice tour!. I would definitely recommend running daylight front and rear flashing lights for visibility and safety on those bicycles.
Yes Im always maxed out on flashing lights, on the longer rides it can become an issue with batteries running out, but it covers most of the ride

Nice flog David sound like a great place to go to when my wife and I arrive April next year.The walking football will definitely be on my list to try and get fit.Or in my case crawling football 😅.
I may be able to help with the open mic nights as I do a lot of mixing for singers and players over here in the UK and have thousands of backing tracks which I am bringing with me to Thailand.

Hi Ralf, thanks for joining us. Yes on this day I was using my electric bicycle (but I still pedal). I did a full review of it a few weeks ago on the other channel "David Strachan Pattaya" it was called new channel on viagra 🤣🤣 Although the other channel is mainly night life focused I do put up some day rides where we head further out of town to explore the countryside 🙏🙏

I would probably do 30 minutes in the hotel car park, just checking out your balance and practice slow speed, after that a definite yes. Not fast at all and if you do drop behind a little bit they stop every now and then. I don't think Linda has any real biking experience and now she and Dave are regulars 🙏🙏

Hi David. Where do you buy a bicycle from in Thailand . And what is the name of the lake that you say bikes are found stolen ??
I bought my two bikes (road and MTB) from CH Numchai on Threppasit Road, opposite Soi 10. They have a huge shop on Sukhumvit, Southern Bike, not far from Naklua Fish market. Chak Nok is the reservoir where people were dumping motorbike frames 🙏🙏
Is it alowed to swim in the lake, or any lakes around Pattaya?
Im sure no one would stop you...except possibly the local wildlife
