  • Vancouver Canucks star, Brock Boeser, is a strong advocate for the Parkinson's disease community. His dad, Duke, was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 49, and has battled cancer alongside the disease for years. In support of Parkinson's Awareness Month, Brock shares his family's story, and talks about his own fundraising and awareness efforts.
    ---------------
Since 1969, Parkinson Society British Columbia has served to empower the Parkinson’s community by providing resources and services to enable self-management, self-reliance, and self-advocacy.
Every year, we dedicate the month of April to raising awareness of the unique experiences of people with Parkinson's, and the needs of our community. Parkinson's Awareness Month is an opportunity to engage the public in expanding their understanding of Parkinson's, and the profound effects it has on the lives of over 13,000 British Columbians living with the disease.
This April, we want to spread the message that Parkinson's is more than a tremor. The disease can affect all aspects of one's life, and there is no cure.

Good for you Brock and thank you for bringing attention to what the families go through when a loved one has Parkinson's. I wish your dad nothing but the best in his fight against this disease. Prayers for a cure soon!!!

I lost my Dad to Parkinsons too. It's not easy for any family. I am sure he is very proud of you Brock. I am a father myself and a Canucks lifer so I know how proud he would be to have a son like you.
