Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass Reimagined

This is an overhaul of the entire Booster Course Pass from Wave 1 to Wave 6, featuring brand new models and assets from the original Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game, as well as retexturing parts of the game to fit more in line with the original graphics from 2014.

It's amazing how much of a difference just having nice bushes and trees makes
Which is why it's so sad that they chose to use the most basic geometric bushes, trees, rock textures, and flowers on the BCP courses. Those really ruined the aesthetic of the BCP to me. All they had to do was use the base game's bushes/trees/rocks/flowers.

Don't forget the more detailed sky boxes as well

@@NintenJoeGamer Nope. They just ported over what they did for Tour and published it like that, the tracks had next to no actual effort put into them.
both rock rock mountain and toad circuit look incredible, all of them do actually, great job 🥳
Koopa Cape and Sunset Wilds are massive improvements over the vanilla textures. Nicely done!

This looks sooo much better that I thought they were different tracks from the very beginning even tho the changes arent more than the aesthetics and some touches here and there

I literally dont understand how they opt to choose tours textures instead of the original mk ones even though those should technically be easier to implement and look way nicer
This looks fantastic! Although if I had one complaint, seems like some floors and walls are missing textures. But hey this is just a nitpick. You really made them look waaay better!

I love the textures but I feel like the lack of bricks on some buildings were lackluster texture but everything else is amazing
Even some of the buildings should have those plastered concrete wall textures that were used on some of the buildings from Toad Harbor and Wuhu Town
Boy that remodeled mod was fire, it cant get any better!

These remakes are way better than the original versions Nintendo gave us. They should hire you to remake courses
It all looks incredible! I can definitely see the work and passion put into all of this immediately. It really is astounding just how a few tweaks make the tracks look just that much better. I've never modded my switch before, but I'm seriously considering doing it just for this!
If I can mention a few things, though, in my opinion, I feel there's a little but too many shrubs added in Paris, Tokyo, and London, and a little too many trees in Berlin.
Is it possible to adjust or not have some track changes applied? I like the iridescent look on Wii Rainbow Road, but to me I like the original sparkly one a tad more.
I still give you a lot of props though, especially with actually making Sunset Wilds worl!

I will say you a few observations...
1-The textures of the mountains in the distance on some circuits has not been updated like the mapple three away
2-Sky garden and Daisy's circuit has their sky very bright
3-DK mountain has poor amount of palms
4-¿Could you put the original piranha ink in Bangkok rush like tour's version?
5-In some circuits the flowers and shrubberies has not been updated, i saw it in LA circuit, Mushroom circuit from DS (I forgot the name) and Peach Gardens

The way you made Paris looks super interesting. However I imagine that sky would go better with a Dublin or Mumbai track.
In general, this mod does a great job at improving the visuals of the BCP Courses. But I'm not a fan of how Yoshi's Island was handled. Firstly, the detailed grass and rock textures clash with the crayon artstyle of the stage. Secondly, the skybox has a blue band at the bottom, making the edges of the map more apparent as if the whole stage was surrounded by a wall of water. Aside from that, good job on the mod.
He also made the colors duller which kinda defeats the purpose of the track

There's still a few things here and there I would've liked to see changed (such as a few of the things I commented on your last video that still weren't changed in this video), but still an overall massive improvement! Really goes to show how much a difference better textures and better-looking trees, bushes, flowers, etc. can make! Take some f'ing notes, Nintendo!
Seriously though, great work with this! Koopa Cape in particular made my jaw drop! :D
I thought the DLC looked great before. But this is AMAZING!!! It looks very realistic like the base game, but still looks cartoony which I like! Also 37:44 XD!!!!!
This looks much better. Wave 1 and 2 actually look like they belong in this game now. I love Mario Circuit 3 the most. I think it’s the most improved track.
These look great! Aside from awkward lighting on certain parts of each track, some bizarre tree choices (ex: the generic city trees amongst the coconut trees on DK Mountain), and the 2D sprites being way too close to the track to look natural, I would say this is pretty much the ideal way most of these tracks should’ve been imported visually.
Please don’t take my points too seriously. I just wanted to provide some personal nitpicks that you don’t really need to look into.
A change in Trees make all the difference. While I will applaud Nintendo for making the textures better, I must question why they never bothered to change the cartoony tree, bush and flower models with base game ones.
Other than the lighting on some of the 8 models, this is amazing, great job! But why did you skip on Vancouver Velocity,
There wasn’t a autumn tree model that would work for the method of adding the models (outside of animal crossing autumn but that might cause weird bugs with the apples on the tree)

Just a few questions:
1. Why don't you use regular green trees in Vancouver Velocity? I think it should look better than the vanilla ones.
2. Is that possible to make a version of Sky Garden with green/blue tiles like the original course and Mario Circuit (SNES) in Sunset?
3. Finally, does this version include thumbnails as well?
He told me that base game trees doesn't fit in Vancouver because his method don't let him change color to the colors
He has an old video making an Faithful but extremely flat Sky Garden, I think he should update that to make it more equal to 8 Deluxe's Base game GBA Tracks

OMG this is absolutely gorgeous, I have no complains with this work, my only doubt is with Vancouver, did it crash when replace the trees or just can't find the way to make work the change of color from base game trees?
The method of replacing trees I used would have not worked in Vancouver, since I can’t change the color of the trees

variation trees but anyway that's not a big deal and everything else is fully enjoyable

Some of the Tracks look almost Identical to their original appearance like Boo Lake, Bowser Castle 3 and Choco Mountain
the only track that looks good with its original textures is yoshi’s island cuz it fits

You don’t need to dw, this just replaces the foliage in the tracks and replaces more tracks’ trees

It just all looks more natural. DK Mountain, Koopa Cape, and Rock Rock Mountain are the three huge stand outs for me.
Koopa Cape and RRM for sure. DK Mountain is a slight improvement though I feel the trees aren't implemented the best. I thought it was the tracks themselves that were downgraded in the BCP, but I genuinely think the tour artstyle just takes the vibe out of a lot of tracks for me
When I use this pack in my game, the textures for pine trees are all an orangish-brown color. Is there a way to fix this? It's not a game-breaker, but it just kinda looks out of place on tracks like Mushroom Gorge or Berlin Byways lol 🥶

Keep in mind that this will only work with the Nintendo Switch models from before June of 2018, as those made after are patched, and Atmosphere unfortunately can't be installed onto them...

That's not necesary true, It's possible to put an animated Sky Box, The true problem with is the course lightning that doesn't get reflected with the Skybox, even he say that is barely hard to do i
It looks more natural because the maps don't appear needlessly upscaled from Tour like they are in the BCP. Like, has anybody noticed how small the racers are on the Tour tracks in 8DX specifically? All the background NPCs are like 4 times their size!

How difficult was it to fix the sunset in Sunset Wilds?
It's quite hard because the problem with animated Skybox is the course lightning that doesn't get reflected with any Skybox change so he has to make a darker lightning to make it work
If Nintendo doesn't do something for the ugly textures themselves, then they need to hire ZPL

I wish Nintendo would release a patch fixing the fake cartoony ass looking trees. Palm trees in base game vs palm trees in BCP is actually completely disgusting.
Yeah, everything nature-related, basically (trees, flowers, bushes, grass), look (almost) all unappealing and bad. I absolutely hate how they took these textures from the shitty Mario Kart Tour and implemented them on A FRICKIN MAINLINE CONSOLE GAME
@@laser90 Yeah, like basically so blocky and horrible looking even though those models with that low poly look end up being higher poly than MK8's models because of the explosive amount of vertices being bundled up because of the usage of vertex colors, the textures help hide the lower poly count in MK8's models

Not necessarily a fan of a lot of your changes, for instance I don't think slapping base game trees in fixes much, but on top of subtle improvements to tracks like Kalimari Desert and Waluigi Pinball, I think these versions of RRM and Koopa Cape are vastly, VASTLY better than what we got
