Yes. This horse will beat epicenter and I love epicenter. Was my derby pick. Hit him in Travers etc This is just a different class of horse. A 126 beyer being eased last 16th I'd unreal. Ghostzapper got a 128 in the islien and it was unreal. Flightline if asked could have ran a mile n a quarter here in possible 157. Think about that. 1 57 Secretariat derby was 159s. This is the best horse I've seen since ghostzapper. I wasn't around for big red as I was born. In 1981
Secretariat also was never pushed in the Derby, AND he was one year younger than Flightline. I'm not going to get into another debate about Secretariat, his record and times speak for themselves. I don't have to.

If Life is Good enters the BCC, I think Flightline could push the Bid's all-time record. The early pace will be scorching but FL can sit in the pocket and overtake LIG in the last 1/4 of the mile (if not before). Life is Good is such a specimen, but Flightline may be otherworldly.
Imo looking at this Race and seeing flightline geared down he definitely looks like he can run all day compared to LIG I think it’s a stretch for LIG TO GET the distance and flightline should overpower him easy but then again if the perfect scenarios ply out with out each horses or other speed cooking each other up

It's a pity the camera work for Flightline's victories was so bad. They should be zooming out at the finish, not zooming in. The whole point is that he was destroying quality fields by 8, 10, 12 lengths. It would be nice to actually see the gap between 1st and 2nd, instead of hearing about it & seeing an isolated shot of Flightline cantering over the final 200 yards by himself.

Its funny seeing how friggen many people bring up how great Secretariat was... lol. They do it to try to sound smart. Everyone knows who Secretariat is and was. Fact is, if he would have won the Belmont by 8 lengths instead of 31... the world wouldn't be talking about him. That is the ONLY reason. Yes he had fast times in the first two, but Spectacular Bid ran 10 lengths faster than Secretariat at 1 1/4 miles. Secretariat also lost almost 25% of his races. Bottom line is, he had a great 3-race TC series and a shocking Belmont. Because of that Belmont time, folks always want to chime in and "announce" (again, trying to sound so smart), is why he is always referenced. And its funny how folks sound like they are "bragging" about Secretariat as though he was "their horse" lol. He's wasn't. He was just an animal. I was wrong.....I guess he can get the distance. Aside from Country Grammar and on his best day Royal Ship, the other three are tomato cans. He should win the BC Classic but at Keeneland in November??? Weather will be cold, rain, slop and shipping in. Who knows! He did ship to N.Y.C. and win but there are some Mott, Shug and Pletcher horses who may gang up on him.
Their top of the line trainers who have been in the racing industry for years. They’ve had outstanding horses at one time or another, one of them might putt a rabbit in the race to try to go with Flightline but that’s about it. Bill Mott had Speakers Corner in the Met Mile and he ran a game race, and his fractions were pretty fast. I believe they were 1:08 and change at the six furlong marker. Flightline had the lead then and was drawing off. Whatever they do will be legitimate.

I was at the finish line when I saw the mighty Forego run down Ancient Title at Santa Anita. AT was a monster. Did you know Forego was born same year as Secretariat?
Forego was retired at the Kentucky horse Park and one February day, 1990 I think, I was visiting and The place was empty. Forego was out in his paddock (and adjacent John Henry). I took off running next to the fence and he gave a snort, a little buck and matched my run all the way down to the end of the paddock.. He didn't have to extend himself very much to beat me but he still had it ! A good memory.

Well the horse that finished second won the Dubai World Cup this year. And he went back to New York for the Met. They’ll get their chance to look at him from behind in November.
Why didn't those horses in New York travel to Del Mar? Planes go both ways. Tell a New Yorker that a horse could be on par with Secretariat and that's blasphemy.
Scary good performance, but Flightline is unlikely to run enough times to compare him to the greats. Money, once again, will prematurely end a possibly epic career. Flighline's competition also hasn't been good. Most great horses of the past beat other great horses - Dr. Fager beat Damascus and Buckpasser, Secretariat beat Forego and Riva Ridge, Seattle Slew beat Affirmed, Affirmed beat Alydar and Spectacular Bid. Dr, Fager and Secretariat also won on grass against good fields. Those kinds of tests have not and, likely, won't be met and conquered by Flightline. Great talent, just a shame it is so hard to put into context, through no fault of the horse.
Fl has great times and is very fast and could have easily ran the fastest time ever in this race! It doesn't matter who he races because he can set track records if given the chance which makes him great. Very fast and had endurance just like the greatest of the all, secretariat.
Bc Flavien is thinking ahead to the next race, wanted the horse to have some left in the tank and didn’t want to get yelled at by the trainer for letting him run on. Horse had already won by 20 lengths, that’s good enough
What's the point of having an extraordinary horse in racing anymore if they are only going to rum 7-8 races and then retire?? At least horses like Zenyatta, ran 20 races, which gave the fans a true insight into how good that horse actually is..
If you were the owner you would do the same thing. Zenyatta being a mare can't stud. You wouldn't risk your horse breaking down. Tapit made $35 mil in one year at stud.

It was phenomenal, outstanding… but i was very unhappy for only handful of people will remember this run. It could have been record breaking performance, but it did not, he was eased. His name wont be shown in that program in years to come. Sorry… it was great, but not that great. Im greatly disappointed.
I keep seeing people say he is the best sense secretariat all because he won by 20 lengths but then y’all forget Rachel Alexandra won by 20 lengths and Zenyatta was unbeaten in 20 starts… there have been remarkable horses who have done more than flatline
It’s all about the time, he did that while never getting out of second gear, Rachael won by 20 against the girls, she doesn’t have the speed to keep up with Flightline, same with Zenyatta
They're not appraised by the amount of lengths they win by Bro. They are instead rated by the time they cover the various distances in and how easily they did it. Hope this info helps you going forward.

It's a pity the camera work for Flightline's victories was so bad. They should be zooming out at the finish, not zooming in. The whole point is that he was destroying quality fields by 8, 10, 12 lengths. It would be nice to actually see the gap between 1st and 2nd, instead of hearing about it & seeing an isolated shot of Flightline cantering over the final 200 yards by himself.

Its a damn shame that FL never entered into the triple crown. If he had won those 3 races he may be called the greatest horse ever. He may be without them but we will never know. I realize 100 million plus is a lot of money and you have to consider the horse safety but speaking as a race fan...and a selfish one at that, we were all robbed.

Trevor didn’t mention not 1 of the other horses in this race past the 1/4 pole to the wire . Flightlines competition will all carry cans of whoop ass in the BCC. Some for the 1st time and others that haven’t learned their lesson the last time will carry it again. It’s like their trainers sending out a boxer that got Knocked Out by Mike Tyson in the 1st round for a rematch. 🥊

Its funny seeing how friggen many people bring up how great Secretariat was... lol. They do it to try to sound smart. Everyone knows who Secretariat is and was. Fact is, if he would have won the Belmont by 8 lengths instead of 31... the world wouldn't be talking about him. That is the ONLY reason. Yes he had fast times in the first two, but Spectacular Bid ran 10 lengths faster than Secretariat at 1 1/4 miles. Secretariat also lost almost 25% of his races. Bottom line is, he had a great 3-race TC series and a shocking Belmont. Because of that Belmont time, folks always want to chime in and "announce" (again, trying to sound so smart), is why he is always referenced. And its funny how folks sound like they are "bragging" about Secretariat as though he was "their horse" lol. He's wasn't. He was just an animal. Owned by someone else that you have zero connection to. ZERO.

Weather will be cold, rain, slop and shipping in. Who knows! He did ship to N.Y.C. and win but there are some Mott, Shug and Pletcher horses who may gang up on him.
Their top of the line trainers who have been in the racing industry for years. They’ve had outstanding horses at one time or another, one of them might putt a rabbit in the race to try to go with Flightline but that’s about it. Bill Mott had Speakers Corner in the Met Mile and he ran a game race, and his fractions were pretty fast. I believe they were 1:08 and change at the six furlong marker. Flightline had the lead then and was drawing off. Whatever they do will be legitimate.

What a great performance but slow down a little. I see posts comparing to Big Red, man o war. Etc.. lets wait and see what happens from here. Let’s see him face more than 7 horses. If he goes to Keeneland and wins the classic then we can talk. He will get pressure and a full field, including foreign horses. He sure looks the part but you cant put this horse in comparison with the all time greats until he wins more than the PAC classic. Country grammer is a nice horse but no world beater. He hasn’t exactly faced the best in the country. Hopefully he comes out of the race in good order and we can find out in November.

I was at the finish line when I saw the mighty Forego run down Ancient Title at Santa Anita. AT was a monster. Did you know Forego was born same year as Secretariat?

Forego was retired at the Kentucky horse Park and one February day, 1990 I think, I was visiting and The place was empty. Forego was out in his paddock (and adjacent John Henry). I took off running next to the fence and he gave a snort, a little buck and matched my run all the way down to the end of the paddock.. He didn't have to extend himself very much to beat me but he still had it ! A good memory.

Well the horse that finished second won the Dubai World Cup this year. And he went back to New York for the Met. They’ll get their chance to look at him from behind in November.

Scary good performance, but Flightline is unlikely to run enough times to compare him to the greats. Money, once again, will prematurely end a possibly epic career.
Flighline's competition also hasn't been good. Most great horses of the past beat other great horses - Dr. Fager beat Damascus and Buckpasser, Secretariat beat Forego and Riva Ridge, Seattle Slew beat Affirmed, Affirmed beat Alydar and Spectacular Bid. Dr, Fager and Secretariat also won on grass against good fields. Those kinds of tests have not and, likely, won't be met and conquered by Flightline.
Great talent, just a shame it is so hard to put into context, through no fault of the horse.
Fl has great times and is very fast and could have easily ran the fastest time ever in this race! It doesn't matter who he races because he can set track records if given the chance which makes him great. Very fast and had endurance just like the greatest of the all, secretariat.

If you were the owner you would do the same thing. Zenyatta being a mare can't stud. You wouldn't risk your horse breaking down. Tapit made $35 mil in one year at stud.
Storm Cat who I believe is related to Flightline was commanding a $500,000 fee when he was standing at stud.

You don’t want him to give it his all and completely empty his tank in this race when he doesn’t need too, bc he’s gonna need every last inch of energy in the BCC bc that is going to be a much tougher race with a lot more G1 quality horses (Life Is Good, Olympiad, Epicenter, etc)

It was phenomenal, outstanding… but i was very unhappy for only handful of people will remember this run. It could have been record breaking performance, but it did not, he was eased. His name wont be shown in that program in years to come. Sorry… it was great, but not that great. Im greatly disappointed.

I keep seeing people say he is the best sense secretariat all because he won by 20 lengths but then y’all forget Rachel Alexandra won by 20 lengths and Zenyatta was unbeaten in 20 starts… there have been remarkable horses who have done more than flatline
It’s all about the time, he did that while never getting out of second gear, Rachael won by 20 against the girls, she doesn’t have the speed to keep up with Flightline, same with Zenyatta
They're not appraised by the amount of lengths they win by Bro. They are instead rated by the time they cover the various distances in and how easily they did it. Hope this info helps you going forward.
