I love the Rochelle Train Park. I always stop here when I drive home from Chicago. I live in Davenport, Iowa, and it's RIGHT on my way.
Horseshoe Curve is probably the most popular rail landmark in the country. Rochelle does look interest though. Very nice!
SWEET DUDE!!! i was there this summer, perhaps THE BEST ROCHELLE VIDEO ON CZcams! CNW heritage unit AWSEOME A++++++++ AND A MEET! ON BNSF!
your welcome. you got nice units, meets, inusual stuff you dont see very often, IT'S ALL THERE! CNW HERITAGE, NOW THAT IS AWESOME! THANKS FOR THE AWESOME VIDEOS!
Here's the best part for fans just coming to Rochelle in the next few months.
BNSF is Working on, and nearly completing, Double-tracking of the line between Savanna, IL (the join-up with the Savanna/Galesburg line to go to the Twin Cities) and Rochelle. The last single spots are East of savanna from Burke Hill Crest to Chadwick, then the town of Polo IL, then some of the portions from Mt Morris to the west end of rochelle.
Note: If any of you get to Rochelle and feel adventurous, Head West from town on IL 38 to follow the UP to Dixon, then Sterling, then Clinton IA. IL 64 (just north of town via IL 251) follows the BNSF to Polo, then Polo Road to Milledgeville and IL 40 to Chadwick, then up and around to Mt Carroll and over to Savanna for the BNSF St Paul-Chicago/Galesburg Main
wow a BNSF meet, now thats rare!
love the series u did love to see as time goes good more of the cars
ill cheak it out. SOUNDS COOL!
wow they even have a grassy area to bench, "very nice"

Thank You!
yea, more trains on the BN!
I do believe the Chicago Northwestern and Burlington Route Crossed through Rochelle and the Il
nice video
Yes, cab signalling. The BNSF can't have cab signalling, because, it can have anything and everything on the point of their trains. Not even all UP's can use the UP Geneva sub.
I don't think both railroads are CTC. UP is definately CTC, but the BNSF has alot of different lead engines that don't always have CTC options or controlls. Still, awsome videos! I have to go back to Rochelle soon.
According to the people who run the park BNSF is CTC. I will have to double check this out though.
I meant to say 1870, sorry for the mistake.
Boy id love to live and sit by that track and be out in the back with the buddies standing alongside with the beer ice cooler, just like 'King Of the Hill'!! lol! :D Id loooove it! 3:20, That kinna sounds like a SP P-Horn, but that unit looks too new to be a former SP? Unless they refurbished all the SP ((HORNS))?
then your city is going to have to make a couple of modifications to it's crossings because both UP and BNSF won't agree to "Bells Only" if there is no additional safety at the crossings.
Ok yeah, But CTC isnt cab signals. CTC is centralized traffic control and doesnt require cab signals.
You mean cab signals right?
no, were is that?
typical for this line since it is the ex CNW main line
Where was 8701? LOL
U saw to many interesting things on that line. Usually their are 2 things a day, u saw like 6 or 7!!!
I have to agree the 90s a rarer so they are nicer but in terms of reliability they suck
huh????
The SD90s are better than UPs SD70Ms.
Cool, make the rails rise once again! :-D Get rid of these RIG-PIGS that hog up the roads and kill people and obstruct crossings. :-)
