I love your family. Y'all are an inspiration. My father was a Marine Drill Sergeant that raised 5 girls alone by the law of the land. He was the only person that could control us all. He sent my sister a card with buzzard feathers on it because she wanted everything to be given to her.
I lost my touchstone when he died a few years back. I use this channel as a new way to keep me on track. I have no money though...i cant reciprocate, sorry. My identity was stolen.

I get what they're saying, but remember, they do go to a church. The building isn't the church but I was raised to treat it with reverence, it's where we gather to meet and praise the Lord. A "home" church is a great place that I enjoy. I enjoy the fellowship and you develop close friendships with folks support and are a help to each other in rough times. The boys are right, but going to a church isn't a bad thing either.

Excellent message! So many people don’t go to “church “ because they feel judged by congregation members. They can fellowship and worship anywhere. Phil always has a message that touches me. Thank y’all for doing this podcast. I listen to it every morning while I’m driving.

I was raised to take my hat off when you entered someone's home, church or our house. It was mearly a show of respect. Maybe its a southern thing. But it no way was meant to be you aren't a Christian or couldn't be if you wore it in church just a respect thing.

Lived in a military home and you always removed your hat, or cover, in any building or to honor the flag because you would show respect. Fear of the Lord or the old man when I got home.
I was raised catholic . as a young boy I joined the cub Scouts and they had their meetings in a synogog. Wel my dad always wore a hat and he took it off when he entered the synogog out of respect .well the rabbi asked him to please put on his hat out of respect. I guess us Christians have it backwards

In the Catholic Church, we talk about “The Upper Church” and “The Lower Church.”
The Upper Church are the snotty pharisaical people who get bothered about “the rules” that aren’t really rules at all, but personal conduct biases.
The Lower Church is the Banquet - Y’shua went out into the streets and brought in the sick, the beggars, the social outliers, the unexceptional and the unacceptable, and brought them to the Master’s Table to love each other.
If it’s GOD’s House, then it’s no one’s right to judge His children. Any of them.

I was baptized as a baby, and I still sin. No matter what we are meant to sin.
Theology is “knowledge/understanding of God”. The Robertsons’ theology comes out in every podcast. It’s not complicated and it is true!

@@Jobugz0 they are saying theologians are somehow pharasee like, although I disagree, theology is the study of scripture and scripture tells us to study and meditate on it day and night. Seems to be the pendulum swings to far either way.

I witnessed an entire family(all lost) finally show up at church one morning and, after they sat down and while the choir was singing, a Deacon walked up and told the Father to please remove his hat. The old mountain man was so humiliated that he and his family left immediately and never returned. God help us. The Preacher who wrote you the letter is infected with LEGALISM and I consider those types to be modern day Pharisees looking down their nose at others. Burn the letter and keep living a grace-filled life understanding what the NEW Covenant is all about brother!

I like to think of the “building” as the training facility. We have the no food, gum, or beverage, in the sanctuary, merely due to the fact that people can’t not spill it or drop it on the floor. We have cloth seats and carpet So it has a cost to clean it up.you can eat or drink anywhere else. It doesn’t have to do with disrespecting the lord.

I'd like to share a story on the opposite side of your hat story. Several years ago when women's skirts were being worn pretty short, a young lady came into the church just before service. Her skirt was extra short and since this is a pretty small town everyone knew her reputation. One of our wise mothers went to welcome her and bring her into the sanctuary. Unfortunately, she was ashamed to come in because of the skirts length. Mother J took her to the bathroom and pulled out her hem and then they both returned to the sanctuary. Mother J went out of her way to make the girl feel comfortable. She was welcomed wholeheartedly and eventually received Christ.

I've been involved in two congregational breakups that revolved around who had the ultimate control of the real estate. People who called themselves Christians standing in the vestibule screaming at each other. I sometimes feel that the body of Christ would be better off if next Sunday morning, every church building had been burned to the ground. When I remember the most profound spiritual experiences in my 8 decades of living, not a single one was inside a brick and mortar building.

Jase - you are spot on! Years ago a friend visited a congregation for the first and only time and was told after the service she was welcomed back but only if she wore a dress. It left her bitter. She never returned. Ended up in prison and an early death due to drug addiction. Because the CHURCH judged her on wearing pants!

Love the discussion. In my youth I used to argue theology and the Bible a lot but now I just pray and plant seeds and its up to God to water and cause seeds to grow. Plus the Bible says stay away from arguing and strife. Thats another reason I got off social media- except CZcams. And I stick to telegram so I can follow Patriots like Lin Wood. On Fakebook I found it too difficult to stay away from arguing politics and whatever. Its been a huge blessing for me to leave Fakebook because they censored all posts I made about antivaccine or pro Trump. They don't even remotely fight fair. I do pray Pres. Trump's lawsuit against them goes successfully. They need a big dose of Justice! God bless everyone!
