Great stuff again Ian. I was there this morning, and the moon was crescent-shaped as I approached Burrowbridge, and tinged orange by the imminent sunrise. You have inspired me to try a moonrise myself.

Yes the crescent moon looked good this morning, saw it on my way back from Beer in Devon. Last night I did Astro shoot of Milky Way down there.
Video in a couple weeks hopefully if footage any good 😁

I have a small team of enthusiasts who photograph the full moon rise each month at different locations. Most use Canon cameras with a connection to a tablet which takes full manual control of the camera using App DSLR Controller. The tablet is close to the camera on a separate tripod. Location Perth Western Australia. Having come originally from the UK the weather is so predictable here. We can usually rely on three days to photograph the virtual full moon. Perth is closer to the equator only 32 degrees south. We are going to try something special this year. On the 26th of Jan Australia Day Perth has a large firework display on that day over Perth Water. It also coincides this year with the full moon rising over the city with the fireworks in the foreground. We shall photograph back at 2km to get the full moon rising through the Ariel fireworks framed by the city. With the reflection of the city lights and the fireworks in the water plus the full moon showing through the fireworks. Hopefully, it will work, it is a big ask.

Wow Brian that sounds like a fantastic opportunity and I wish you all the luck that everything comes together to get that shot. Please send me a link that I can view results when you have got shots. Thanks for commenting and please check out some of my other videos.

There's a lot of noise in the photo. How would one reduce this? Is there a way? Is this the result of a poor lens?

Low light requires higher iso and on my older camera that I used on this video that introduces more noise. My newer Z7ii would be far less noise. To much noise reduction in post processing caused loss of detail at the time but with the newer ai noise reduction may be better if I was to revisit these older shots.
