This is my first time reacting to KZ Tandingan on CZcams. She did not disappoint! I have done one reaction to her previously singing Rolling in the deep in a Sing Off challenge on my Patreon and after listening to her sing, I had to do a CZcams reaction for you guys.

This was an Invite Only Show, and many think She was Invited by mistake(not my thoughts) But with Rolling in the
Deep she got 55% of the votes higher than most others got throughout the Competition. Which Surprised the producers. This was her Second Song of the show and somehow only got 4% of the votes which basically eliminated her from Winning....Now many say that is because Being from the Philippines and that the two Governments do not really see
eye to eye, That they were afraid would lose face (Again Not for me to Say) BUT Her face Got Known because of
the Show And She Re-writes her Music So it was Win win for Her. And on top of that she Got to Meet Her Idol Jessie J.
(who Won the Show) .....There is one video of her getting to meet Jessie what a beautiful Moment....SO YES Big
influence by Jessie......and to Think KZ had suffered Throat Trauma at 13yrs old and had at least two Surgeries,
At one point Doctors had told Her that time would tell if she could sing again.......Thank God She is Able !!!

Yes, Jesse J is an idol and influence on KZ. There is a video where KZ cries when she meets Jesse J for the first time when she joins the 2018 Singer competition. As you know, she beat Jesse J in the same round during her first performance (Rolling in the Deep), but is eliminated from the competition (which explains the introduction to this video). She later tries to to re-enter the competition as a wildcard but is unsuccessful. Nevertheless, the 2018 Singer competition put her on the world stage. The most creative female singer I have ever seen.
If you want to listen to one of the most creative male singers, react to Hua Chen yu is at 1:49. He finished second to Jesse J in the 2018 Singer competition and won it in 2020. He has no genre- he sings rock, raps, and can emphasize art more than vocals in some performances. His songs often reflect his attitude during different stages of his life. Each song is totally different from one another. His 90,000 concerts sell out in < 10 minutes. Others below have recommended starting off with "Nunchucks". Others include Child" and "Fake Monk" (latter is something you probably never heard of before).
KZ and Morissette are friends, one of Morissette's original "throwback" KZ is one of the backing vocals. 💛

KC will originally performed another song in this episode but the producer had suggested to sing Say Something instead since her prepared song is not well known in China and may be less entertaining to the audience. Because of the last minute change she had to fly her friend and guitarist Macoy Portado since both have done this song together before in the Philippines. I'm sure you will love it.

You're right. Jessie J is her inspiration. They had an emotional 1st meeting in Singer 2018. There is a posted video on that.

Mind boggling fact about the Royals performance: KZ was eliminated after that performance after only getting 5% of the vote. I'll never understand that one.

I really don't understand this adversarial stance against reactors that the entertainment industry and You Tube have. Common sense would dictate a mutually beneficial approach in which the reactor share in the revenue that any particular video generates. In essence a reactor uses someone else's work to get views on their own channel, that's true enough. But a good reactor doesn't alter that work in any adverse way. Instead he (or she) enhances the original piece of work by adding different kinds of value to them.
One added value is that people that would not seek out a particular artists work by them selves because of one reason or another, suddenly may be interested in that artist, purely because they have been exposed to him (or her) by watching a reactor that they like and respect. That kind of exposure must be very valuable for the artist and the record label, and they didn't have to spend any money to get it.
Kind of like a company that makes aftermarket parts for cars. Some car models in their original form does not garner much interest among a certain demographic. But they can suddenly get noticed and coveted by that very demographic when they are modified with after market components, made by companies not affiliated with the original maker. That then creates a mutually beneficial situation wherein the car manufacturer adds a new client base and sell more cars, not thru their own efforts, but by the efforts of an outside company. The after market parts producer in turn gets access to all the different markets where that car manufacturer sells their products. And finally, the buyers of these enhanced products all around the world now get to drive the type of cars they find matches their driving style and taste, everyone wins.
I have myself found several new artists that I would have never sought out on my own simply by watching different reaction channels, most recently the artist NF. I never used to listen to rap, the genre seemed to be filled with a bunch of braggarts and misogynists with BIG attitudes and stupid lyrics as far as I was concerned. But one day a few months ago I was exposed to NF thru a reactor that I like. And in this artist I found quality's and a attitude that I found very appealing (and the music is banging too, as the younger generation puts it...). So now I'm subscribed to a RAP channel. (I can hardly believe it myself) The ONLY reason I have subscribed to NF:s official channel is because of that reactor. So shouldn't he also be able to profit a little in this situation? Why is that not the standard on You Tube? I don't understand.
Other added values that reaction channels can provide an artist is increased appreciation for their singing ability thru the analysis by voice coaches or other artists. Reaction channels further more help keep the fans of various artists exited about them between record drops because they like watching different people react to their favorite artist. Finally I want to mention the comment section on these reaction channels which provide a space for the fans (new and old) to mingle and discuss and share information about the artist. This also helps the artist to get new fans and to keep the old ones by no effort of their own or by their record label. 👍
