Solo Travel in my Astro Van - Escaping the City and Seeing the Rarest Fish on Earth

- First of all, I'm so done with Vegas, that place isn't for me so much and I am so happy to be away from the city and back out in nature where I belong.
Pahrump was thankfully a big enough town to help me fill up on all my necessities before a long and extended period of time away from the cities. It also had a Home Depot..... Thankfully
Ever since I was like 16 years old I wanted to come and see the Devil's Hole Pupfish, and although I was not able to see the actual fish from that platform, I got to see their home which was good enough for me.
I feel odd for thinking that the Devils Hole was something I've wanted to see for so long but hey, it was epic.
I am very happy I got to see all those other Pupfish in the beautiful crystal clear spring pools everywhere else around Ash Meadows.
Never in my life did I expect to be a CZcamsr filming the Rarest fish on Earth.... Wow is my life crazy, thank you to all who watch these videos!

As another Astro Van guy here, the "latch" on the front, is not a latch, it's a crash retainer. In the even of an accident, when the body shifts, that striker will engage in the hole it slots into to stop the door from coming away from the body... Only the back striker and latch, actually latch the door closed.
When you're having trouble with the door closing, it's usually the rubber bushings on the three slides that are out of wack that causes the door to close improperly. I usually oil all of the bottom track below the step, and I'll spray some oil on the last visible 4 inches of track at the back. Then I'll open and close the door a few times to get oil on the bushings.
If it still has issues closing, The bottom track bar(on the rear left of sliding door) has two(iirc Torx, or maybe bolt heads) you can loosen, and lift up on the door a bit, and retighten, to make sure the latch lines up perfectly with the striker.

Great video as I just stumbled upon your channel and as a long time resident of Las Vegas for the past 14 years in the "concrete jungle", I am done being surrounded by 2.5 million full time residents and 40 million visitors a year!!! All you need to do for your water jug is to drill a hole the same size as the hose inthecap. The hose has to be long enough to reach the bottom of the jug. You push the hose through the hole in the cap so it reaches the bottom of the jug. No fittings needed.
I didn’t know there was Popup Fish Still Around since the ice age. Very Interesting!

I grew up in Las Vegas. It is a shithole. Vegas was nice back in the 70s and 80s but by 2000 it was gross. Kudos to you for showing young people how to be self reliant and bold. I'm retired in SC, kids grown, wife working for a few more years and I'm planning some extended van life road trips around the U.S. I hope you have a little "just in case gun" tucked away in that van. If not, consider getting one. Stay aware and stay safe.

Keep your eyes open, don't trust strangers and don't put yoursel at risk. Get all of this traveling aroud out of your system, find a stable carer and save for your future B.
Hey Bronson, Death Valley is such a cool place to visit except in the summer. And yes venison is very tasty but I also like elk. As always, you're cooking looks so delicious and you make me hungry lol. It's amazing that you are traveling to pretty much the same places that I also went to as I guess we both like the desert scenes--especially the pup fish that would be so awesome in an aquarium. The desert has a habit and just grows on you as there is so much to see. Your underwater and desert photos are always so awesome dude:)

A great upbeat and educational video. very interesting about the rare fish! You're lucky to be out west, I drove my van out west from the east coast a couple years ago and was amazed by the wide open spaces and the gorgeous landscape! Keep up the good work it inspires me to take another trip!

I have found the best lubricant for sliding doors is LPS 2 I have found this to be the best over many years of usage😊

It's good to be aware of your food supply, dude, I never go by the expiration dates because that is BS trust me it is good WAY past expiration (vacuum sealed items only)!

You have no idea, it was bad.
The previous owner decided to take out the 2 panel doors and replace it with the 3 style doors I have.
Needless to say they did a shit job and put zero effort into sealing it.
When I bought it I had legit a stream of water running in from all 4 doors whenever it rained, snowed or anything.
I used a ton of chalk, door sealer, sticky car foam and patience to get it all sealed up.
It now won’t leak at all but yeah it was a pain in my butt
Broken jug hose fitting? Who needs a fitting? Buy a longer hose and just shove the hose all the way down to the bottom of the jug. The cap's hole should be a snug fit.

I use DaVinci Resolve - it’s free and honestly pretty dang good.
Most videos are around 7-10 hours of editing plus another 1-2 for upload. Pain in the butt sometimes.
My biggest video took roughly 60 hours to edit. It’ll be coming out in a month or so!
I use a Sony A6700, iPhone 14 Pro, GoPro hero 11, and DJI mini 2 for the drone shots

No it’s a cheap one off Amazon, it’s a 200w and the most I’ve ever got was 170w
