    For the price I think this is a good tool. I liked your review on it, pretty honest in my opinion. I have a leatherman but I must say I’m enjoying the Multiforce right now.

      Well thank you so much, that means alot to me to hear that.
      I felt good giving it to my wife to carry in her purse, since she loves my Wave so much.
      Gets used alot still.

    I have multiple leatherman multitools. I also have the multiforce. I have the leatherman micra .it has a larger pair of scissors than the multiforce. The small scissors on the multiforce will snip right through 550 paracord, my leatherman micra scissors won't cut the paracord at all.

    It's a 37.00 Leatherman like multitool, the fit and finish may reflect the price, a fine EDC pack tool or glove box tool. It does look decent for the MSRP, also easier to MOD.

    1. The only real cons is bad quality of diamond file.
    2. The clips is better to have on the left side for the right handed people. It does not hit your palm when you are working with knife.
    3. Loosing pliers, just is in your tool, mine is good.
    4. Bit extender was designed to work with ball locking bits.
    So, no more cons, great tool for the money.

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409  Před rokem

      Clip placement is a subjective thing, I prefer it on the otherside, and I'm right handed. If you don't, that's fine.
      And I get that they are intending ball bearing bits for the extender, but if that's all they intended..what's the magnet for?
      As far as the loose handle goes..I'm not the only person to have that happen to, glad yours is fine though.
      And yes, in my personal opinion, I think it's still a good deal for the money, as I said in my last video.

  • @gopherstate777
    @gopherstate777 Před 3 lety +4

    I removed the belt clip with a #9 torx bit. Paid $32 or 1/3 the price of a Wave and keep it in my locker at work just for quick touch jobs.
    Put a magnet in the extender and now it fits any bit, even Leathermans half bits, very handy.
    I would never sharpen a knife with a file?

      @survivalofthefittest409  Před 2 lety +1

      I definitely think there is alot of value in this tool, nice mods!
      And the diamond file can be used to touch up a blade in the field, especially if you've got rolls or nicks. Same thing as other diamond sharpeners you buy.

    Bit holder and bit extender both suck but my leatherman bits fit nice in the extender. I had to swap my first multiple force because the main blade lock wouldn’t engage and if it did it was difficult to unlock it. I had to oil mine and loosen the screws a bit before it started feeling more like my wave+. I’m still not sure if I’m keeping it though. Another thing I noticed is the main blade grind angle is off on each side but that’s not a big deal as long as it’s sharp.

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409  Před 4 lety

      I figured there would be alot of inconsistencies as time went on. I got to tweak my blade as well.
      I think I'm gonna try to move the pocket clip next.

    • @gopherstate777
      @gopherstate777 Před 3 lety +2

      That's funny. My Multiforce can use full size bits and those half bits of Leathermans. All I had to do is put a little 6x2 magnet in it.

    If I ordered a file intended for a Leatherman Wave would it fit in place of the file that came with the Ozark Trail? Seems if the biggest downside of the OT is the file, and the Leatherman file is $8, then if they are interchangeable just order the LM one and pop it on the OT and you still save a ton of money.

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409  Před 4 lety +1

      That's actually a good question. They files look to be very close in size, but I dont know if it will be an exact fit unless I take it apart and try.
      Unfortunately, I dont have the security torx bits needed for the Wave, to try.

      I asked Maxlvledc, another friendly youtuber about that, and this was his answer: "Wave pivot size is smaller, but the Ozark will fit the wave generally speaking", so i guess: yes, it will fit xD

    Too bad about the diamond file. Could probably grind the tip and re-purpose as a pry tool. Also could scrape a ferro rod. The Chinese read right-to-left, and I wonder if that is a factor in the way they set these tools up? You'd think they'd be USA designed, so maybe non-knife people designing them....

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409  Před 5 lety +1

      Is it, but at least the regular wood file is still good.
      They were obviously modeling this off of a Leatherman, so it's weird that they still placed the clip there, but who knows you could be right!
