Nice follow up, I agree that the mechanics could be changed to make the "gamepad camera" idea work, in fact, I have talked to Alyx about this, and it has been considered. As far as I'm aware several different camera options may be included for the user to choose how they want to use the cams, but I don't play an active role in development so I can't confirm if it's happening or not. -A Source Macchiato member
lemme erm actually your rq: although obviously this port is great in terms of having another way to play such a classic game, but I wouldn't call this a perfect port, bc if I'm not wrong this does change a couple things. the gameplay loop of fnaf 1 especially in later nights heavily involves the fact that you can't keep foxy and Freddy away while you are checking your doors for chica and Bonnie, so it seems this might be a bit easier.

What about the power because in the original game opening the cameras takes up power
From what I understand it does take power still, there is just a bug that doesn’t show it visually
