Agencies should NOT be allowed to control artists so much… especially their personal lives and their health… these agencies should be held accountable for their actions.

We should start that with fans. Fans always talk about idols weight and more, making companies put such extremes pressure. It isn't always company and the idol, but the fans. No matter what they weight, it isn't the company giving backlash right? Last time I checked, the ones talking the most sh1t is fans.

I struggled with this problem too because I couldn't find a job for a long time. I was at 54kg at 177cm (as a dude) and it's slowly getting better because I found faith in my individual skills again. I just can recommend to listen closely to yourself. You have to find the strength within yourself as a human being, not on the outside and you will be ready to eat again.

How are they able to live without eating enough for energy? They're having such intense activity in dancing all day! If i skip a meal my stomach wouldn't stop growling and I wouldn't have any energy to move around at all! If i ate little, i think my hormones would also go haywire and I would not only be weak but have zits. How are they able to still retain such good skin and still look attractive?! 😲🤯

0:41 at what point is this a violation of human rights. It's a violation of privacy. It's far, far too invasive and restrictive even for a legal guardian to do this to a minor, it's beyond the pale and should be cause for a lawsuit for someone's employer to crack down on them daring to make their own choices about what food they ingest in their own human bodies. For god's sake. Your body is the one thing you own.

That's "half apple two eggs if we catch someone eating something unhealthy" is primarily so that the members will police each other for the staff, since everyone gets punished if one person eats a hamburger. It's not for their health. It's punitive starvation. What the hell is this company?

People think idols agencies are some blood sucking vampires while it's just a business to them. May sound a bit insensitive but for an artist agency the artist is a product which will be prepared according to it's users needs and the users are fans.
Why would agency put idols through these extreme diets if people don't complain about their weight? In some cases i feel bad for companies like in jeongyeon from twice case like literally she got so much hate for being fat but then she became slim stick now people are angry with her agency for putting her on a diet and forcing her to lose weight, then what is the company supposed to do.
It's their job coz people are crazy enough to hate someone because of a follow too.

I diet, I'm 13, my parents say I'm normal weight for my height, but I am extremely insecure 😔, I diet where I only drink tea for breakfast and lunch, and whatever dinner my mother makes I get one piece or as much as a plastic cup. Kpop Idols go through extreme diets, but I think my diet is healthy. And I do cardio Pilates and extreme thigh exercises every day.
(Btw I get each portion of food to fit in a plastic cup, not all my food.)

Hi am 15 and I mean this with all my heart that u need to stop this right now, ur 13 and still growing and ur body needs so much fuel to grow and mature, I developed a rlly bad eating disorder and it started off just like this. Kpop idols go to such extreme measures starving themselves and fainting to achieve the beauty standard. They literally starve to achieve this beauty standard! What they eat is no different than if u were to go through a famine. If ur insecure about ur weight, just know that ur weight is not the problem here. For me, I felt validated by eating so little and controlling my weight and I was always naturally thin but it felt good starving myself bc I used it as a distraction from the fact I was so lonely and depressed. Please take care bc at this age ur body needs so much energy to properly develop and function and viewing food this way and having such a negative relationship with food can lead u down this rlly dark rabbit hole that u don’t wanna go through ever ❤.

Agree, the emphasis on beauty standards in the industry can be harmful. Idols deserve to be valued for their talent and personality, not just their appearance. It's crucial for companies to prioritize their well-being and avoid practices that contribute to such pressures. Thanks for highlighting this important issue.

Western society also prefers the look of very thin women in media, don't forget this. For a long time many women idealized people like the victoria's secret angels, who weighed around 120-130 pounds but were also at least 5'9" or taller. Basically being underweight for your height is practically a requirement to be successful if you're going to be on camera.
