I’ve had issues with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 parking brake the scan tool wouldn’t put it in maintenance mode so I figured out you can remove the electronic motor and service your brakes that way then reinstall I’ve had no issues and have done this to all makes and models
Can you drive it like this? It is scheduled for service but am waiting on parts. I need to disable this chime before I am 5150’d…
Hello. I had the rear brakes, calipers and rotors on my 2016 Edge replaced. After that work was done my parking brake malfunction light was on and flashing. The repair tech saw this but I needed to pick up the car. They said the parking brake is functioning properly and assume it is an electrical issue.
My questions remains: there was no issue before the repair, now the light is on.
I am taking it back to have them sort out the malfunction light. Any thoughts on why this is would be occurring? I’m not trying judge the repair guys but it is hard not to be skeptical when we errors arise from repairs.

If the tech says he followed the reset procedure, there's no reason not to believe him. The light most commonly comes on after a repair when the procedure is not followed it could also be a short or faulty actuator.

I have an alarm that keeps going off constantly related to the parking brake. Any ideas?
Honestly not sure with diagnosing it. You can try to run through this procedure and see if it will reset.
Did you ever find out what it was? Mine keeps beeping at me saying release parking brake when it’s not
