The Amsterdam-Canadian soprano Elisabeth Hetherington (26) is, together with lute player David Mackor, the third attendant of the talent programme 'AVROTROS Klassiek presents!'. In this programme, AVROTROS gives young classical musical talents a kick start for their professional career. During four months the talents appear as reccuring guests in AVROTROS radioshows and they get the chance to record their professional first album, accompanied by a photoshoot.
The first album of Elisabeth en David, with lute songs by John Dowland and contemporaries, got released in april 2019. The album is exclusively for members of AVROTROS Klassiek. You can find more about Elisabeth and David on avrotros.nl/eli... (Dutch).

Normaal luister ik naar melodische heavy metal die ook gebaseerd is op klassieke muziek , zoals Nightwish ( Floor \janssen)
en nog meerdere . Een Luit en eeen sopraan , dat klinkt zo goed ongelooflijk , als je dit live kunt beluisteren heb je de dag van je leven.

Maybe lowered a lot. And then the talent is gelled orange? I noticed a lot of shots have the blue window in the background....Super! Only in Europe this quality of work....
Not a fan of her “swallowed text” technique….it’s very artificial and manipulated in an undesirable way, choking the sound by fits and starts, therefore yielding and undesirable result, in my ears. To reach the level of art, there must be no artifice. The technique must be free and fluid, with the breath support driving the engine. There are only a few times when the singer seemed to engage that support-on louder passages-and then the choked throat came back to deliver a hushed, strangled _piano._
