Practice the skills of pivot and sideslip (both fast and dynamic), master a carved turn in the fall-line, and the stivot will follow. First the athlete needs an arc-to-arc turn, then a re-direct, then the stivot. This progression will also lead to a shortened pressure phase resulting in a greater and greater impulse.
