Its not quite a moped, its not quite a bicycle, its not quite a motorcycle, well what is it then? A little motorwheeledengine vehicle that capable of about 60KPH which is as fast as you will want to go on something with wheels as thin as these!

Wow seeing and hearing that takes me back to when I started biking in 1995, my first bike was a Tomos Moped a 1989 example, same as that bike except it had a rectangle headlamp and comstar black wheels.
It was a pretty nippy fun bike but at the same time not the most reliable bike either, you could say it worked when it felt like it and would sometimes just randomly cut out climbing hills or bog down.
Parts at the time weren’t easy to find either, these were the days before the internet, EBay and Facebook.
    Good to see one again.

I had one of these (shudders at the memory).
I came to it from a Honda C90 with a rotten back end and a engine with 72,500 miles on the clock that knocked disturbingly.
This was in 1986 and this bike was an utter P.O.S compared to that Honda which was utterly shagged, but had decent lights. The Tomos meant venturing out at night was a no-no. The lights were as bad as on a push-bike. 5 or 10 watts? There was no battery.
The bike had a kick-start, but had a peculiar 1-way clutch that meant you could not bump-start the turd. I had a lot of electrical issues, then the petrol tank started leaking. This was a bad weld and it was a pain in the proverbial. At best the fuel evaporated and left a coat of 2-stroke oil all over the engine & carb. It was a 25:1 mix so it smoked somewhat.
I got sick of that and mounted the petrol tank from a Yamaha Passola on the rear rack. These bikes were known as complete turds even when they were new. It is not just sour-grapes from me. After 3 years ownership the crank seals went & the vile creature was evicted from my life. These were made in the former Yugoslavia. Not a stellar example of a moped.
The ownership experience was somewhat like wearing a hair-shirt: A penance for sins.

For courier services there is no better, small fuel consumption, cheap spare parts very economical!!! Just mechanic, not electric or computer service!!! Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸!!!

It's not a moped. It's what's known as a "noped" A moped has pedals. Otherwise it is the same. I've owned several Tomos mopeds. All mine had pedals. Being an '85 that one would have the A3 two speed engine. Mine had the A35 and A55 engines. And they were made in Slovenia. Tomos went out of business around 2012. At least that's when they stopped selling them in the U.S. I think they were bought by another company.
