When you spend months making your cosplay and then the day of con comes around it is 5 in the morning and you put on your outfit and you look in the mirror and you are gone and the character is starring back at you it is the best feeling in the world.
That sounds awesome... now I REALLY want to cosplay
Ikr it's the best feeling ever
Loving your profile pic btw
I want to feel that feeling but I never finish my costumes
I bet...Paying off my parents mortgage at 31 after my dad died was my best feeling in the world...But I can't wear a house. So I think you win 😅😅
Cosplaying does not have to be deep and meaningful.
Cosplay does not have to involve anime.
You can cosplay anything; real, fictional, animated.
Cosplaying is for EVERYONE.
Gracious Waters So true!!
Gracious Waters Yep! I've only gone to one convention (which was for anime), but I saw so many Ezio's and Connor's from the Assassin's Creed games that my face hurt from smiling so much at it. Cosplaying at conventions has pretty much spilled out to be for whatever and I LOVE that. It means you can cosplay just about anything and find fans of it no matter where you're at. Realizing that acceptance and sense of community for the first time was immensely touching for me.
Fluffymiyster That was like my first time! Just another reason why it is soooo important to be nice and supportive of everyone! I can honestly say that if it does not go so well for someone and get negative comment first go, they would probably have given up on it!
Spirit Orb 1616
That could be for anything :) I say shrug off such experiences and don't give up so easily, especially if it's something you've been wanting to do for a long time. Just because one person didn't approve of you doesn't mean everyone feels that way ^_^
If you have been looking forward to it then it will be easier to do that and yah, you can't let one person influence the way you see it!
Omg I don't know why people judge people for doing this stuff,I don't do cosplay but I think it is really creative and cool so don't make fun of people who do cosplay
Exactly
I Think the same... I World love to do it, but People's in Denmark dont do it
+Ronja Lysholm it's just that you are not there. They do
same I actually think it's super creative
me too but I really wanna do cosplay I'm not sure my parents will let me do this " craft " .
buzzfeed hardly posted anything about cosplay....UNTIL THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED
Saikuo Panda best comment I've ever seen
ImpKaz thank u lol

DAMMIT THE FANDOM'S EVERYWHERE
When I saw the no face cosplay and the Ciel as a girl cosplay, I almost flipped out. Any Kuroshitsuji fans?
Grace Tien Meee! When I first saw the Grell and Madame Red cosplay I freaked out XD Then I saw the Alois and Ciel and I was like "MY PEOPLE!"
Right here :)
Grace Tien YUP :)
BLLLAAAACKKKK BUTLLLERRRRR FOORRR LIIFFFEEE 😍
***** same here i have eczema so i cant cosplay many people and i dont have the same body type/skin color too
This is why I want to cosplay but my father doesn't let me.
He even pronounces the word "Anime" as "enemy"....such a psycho...-.-
I have the same issue, whenever I ask my mom if I can cosplay, not even at a convention with a normal looking character she says that I'm a freak and she thinks that it's nasty. Idk why
nobody cares
do you have to follow your dad's word
AlfonsusAC Well, I can buy cosplay without his permission but I can't go to any conventions or stuff like that when he doesn't allow it.
did u ever had a change to go there once?
Did anyone else see that alois and ciel cosplay? Alois was spot on and it was so beautiful😍
I was just about to mention them. They were really good!
DerpHatsuneMiku that was amazing
Ya it was amazing
DerpHatsuneMiku Yeah it was so beautiful I love that cosplayers take so much time to do their cosplays
Me and my girlfriend are doing this next Con we go too
If I had money, Skill, and the guts I would so cosplay. Idk who I'd cosplay but probably a lot of pokemon.
Just choose a person that you like,or someone who relates to your personality! And don't forget, you can change their outfits up. Example: Nico Yazawa! You could make her into a punk version,a cutesy version,or whatever!
You should really try it! Check out thrift stores and what not! You got this!♡
you should really try cosplaying! even though im not good at it its so fun!
CookieCakeMinecraft and you can use your old clothes, or normal close for a AU!
if you want to do a cheap, pokemon COSPLAY, get a pink sheet, draws ditto's face on it and go as ditto
I agree that the cosplay community is full of love and support.

Mila Cruz That's all a fangirl needs to be happy~ XDD
Cosplay should become new fashion trend
No, do you know how many dead pools you would see in a day of High School, like 20
If everyone cosplayed all the time, if it became a social norm, it wouldn't be cool anymore.
I could see this being a thing... and I would love to see this be a thing...
YES. I want an excuse to wear a cape
It's expensive to cosplay:s

+Fennekin Animations Same here. Just wish I could remember the name.
The movie is called Spirited away 😊
Cosplaying is cool as shit! I would love to just hug everyone who cosplay and get a big group photo.
Cosplayers, You are cool and my heroes. You visualize your fantasy and make it real. Everyone who says otherwise are just not seeing the whole picture and is just ignorant
Thats actually pretty hypocritycal to say since this video is about acceptence and although I find cosplay awesome some don't and thats cool, everyone has different likes and interests and this video is about accepting them, I think you kind of missed the point, (sorry for possible grammatical errors not a native speaker)
yeah "huge" all the sexy cosplayers (males & females)
jazz taylor
True. Was just a bit hyped after seeing all the super cool Cosplayers
qwq
I agree. I love cosplayers they're just so unique and amazing. They are In my opinion, the most amusing people on this planet. If I were to look at a cosplayer, it would never be to criticize. Always to just see the amazing job they did.
Every otaku's dream : to cosplay as their favorite character
Haruka Konoha Kokonose YESHH
Haruka Konoha Kokonose yup
SilverRabbit but you're broke so you can't afford to make/buy the cosplay ;-; XD
SilverRabbit I cried watching this

BOO IMMA GHOST
Egg ugh
That was cute egg.
That was cute egg.
AH!
Its too bad seeing comments saying "I'm too young" "I'm (or they're) too fat" "I'm too...black" "I'm too tall" to cosplay. I wasn't aware you had to be a 4'9'' skinny asian girl/super built asian boy to cosplay. Wow I better pack up my sewing kit and wigs and call it a day.
Oh wait. No, I shouldn't.
Listen to me: Cosplay does NOT mean you have to be socially awkward. Yes, it can be because you're socially awkward, and that's fine. But some people also want to honor their favorite character/s from a show or film. Honestly, Cosplaying is super nerds getting together in an expo center to see other super nerds and be super nerds together. If you put effort into your costume, no body is going to say "oh you did this wrong!" people are going to love it. (I say "nerd" as a term of endearment, I too am one of them) So you can be tall, short, black, white, asian, european, skinny, overweight, guy, girl, have big boobs/big muscles, or be flat chested/lanky. You can cosplay whoever and whatever you want.
So go out there and cosplay to your hearts content, and have fun!
Thank u so much. I needed that after reading the comments
preach
You know this channel Asianpride? they have videos about why only asians can cosplay, and really, I nearly cried. body or whatever doesn' t matter right? like, I'm white, have a big ugly nose and well I miss a few teeth but does that mean I can't cosplay? I go to cons every year and people ask me if they can take pictures and are really nice and everything, I love it. there is no requirement for cosplay, like you say. and this was probably the most useless comment on the internet XD sorry
Yes exactly
Your body type should be accurate to your character though (somewhat)
2:28 was that Levi as a maid?? OwO
Omg I see it 😂
OMFG YES YES IT WAS XD

I want to cosplay but I don't have that kind of money .-.
The first problem of my life
Yeah. .-. I've already actually been saving up for a soul from soul eater cosplay XD
+TheDangerWolf You should try cosplaying a character that looks easy to do. My first cosplay was misaki mei from another and it was pretty easy to do since i already had straight bob hair, plus i found the clothes easily. I made the props by myself (eye patch, school badge, doll etc.). Use your imagination and find alternatives and I swear you are going to rock that cosplay!
+TheDangerWolf Also, as a cosplayer on a budget of lint and a worn shoe string, you can find a lot to do with very minimal resources. Part of my toph wig came from supplies raided from a dumpster (true story!) and you can do a lot with modifying things you already own/don't use, or modifying cheap thrift store clothes, too. Also, cosplaying as characters with your own hair color and style can save you a lot of money on wigs, too.
We are now In the same Place σ_σ
LOL I KNOW THOSE ATTACK ON TITAN COSPLAYERS
2:34 was that Attck on Titan
Kate Walter yes
Itsume нαиαѕαкι I cried when I saw attack on titan
Why did you cry? did Attack On Titan sexually abuse you as a child?.... me too :( we need to stop this now, Attack On Titan cannot go on doing what it is doing to people any longer!
Your so Lucky! I cosplay attack on Titan a lot, I don’t have any friends to do it with that also cosplay and watch attack on Titan, I used to have two friends at my old school who I cosplayed attack on Titan with though! ☺️
The Attack on Titan and Black butler cosplays made me fangirl a bit

NO FACE. OMYGOSH. I LOVE SPIRITED AWAY SO MUCH. :*
I'm such a Grell nerd that I almost started crying when I saw the Grell cosplay. Then I searched more of his cosplays on Google and I wondered why everyone was wearing black gloves. Then I searched the original Grell.
How did I not realize that he wore black gloves on his hands for the two years that I fangirled over him ;-;
laaaamaple oh my goodness this comment made my day :) Thanks so much!
~Grell in this vid (Meeko)

I know right peeps look so amazing i take pictures with everyone!
Ain't they the best people ever ^^
I was 14 I believe when I started going to Cons and cosplaying. I'm 17 now and I'm so proud to be part of this community. I recently was PRCC, the biggest con in the Caribbean and seeing other people smile because I did a good job with my costume made my life. Cosplay is for everyone and anyone who's willing to work hard and have lots of fun.
ItsHisK OMG i was at prcc too >_
Awesome, I was also there!!
AWESOME. I'm in the facebook group Omega Cosplay Puerto Rico. You can find me there and a bunch other cosplayers that were in PRCC.
I wish I could have started younger but my father never approved of me dressing up. *****
ItsHisK awesome!! I just got into anime last year and recently went to Nebraska's comic con even though i haven't tried it yet i would like to because i think it would make me feel special to be my favorite anime character for a day. STAY COOL!!!! :-)
think everyone has their own reasons. I do it to be someone else... to experiment and see what I can do with different materials. To make things I can be proud of.
I cosplay because Halloween only comes once a year. Also, I never wear makeup so I use cosplaying as an excuse.
***** Aw lookit your lil smile, so cute.
***** Do you know who I am?
What this video didn't include is that cosplay isn't just about the aspect of escaping from one's reality. For many, sure that may be their reason, but for many others it's just a method of character appreciation. Have you ever worn a t-shirt with your favourite band, videogame, or tv series? That's exactly what cosplay is, albeit taking it a step further. As a cosplayer, I like to express my passion for a series or character by doing what I can to "bring that character to life." To take something fictional and indulge in the fantasy is only one of the benefits of cosplay. Then when people recognize you as the character you're portraying, it makes you feel good about yourself because then you know that there are other fans who appreciate the time and effort you spend creating the costume. It brings joy to people of all ages, and it's a great way to meet people who are into the same things you are.
true qwq
Yeah, I'd do it because it looks fun, not to escape
This is biased. Why does BFY have to portray the cosplayers as bunch of introverts with low self-esteem that need to cosplay in order to express something. There are certainly people who cosplay for sheer entertainment and view it as a gateway to model careers.
I don't believe that's the message they are really going for. I know a lot of cosplayers that do have this introverted personality & I think they were speaking to the majority. But don't worry everyone who is part of the community knows that side of the story too :)
Bella Goodman I hope so... And I completely agree with you that some cosplayers are shy! I think I reacted too seriously because I saw those stereotypical comments about cosplayers being losers and weirdos (And yes I know I shouldn't read CZcams comments, but I had to say something since I did xD). I'm sorry if I sounded too harsh :P
I love this video, But..... I am a very sociable person and have many friends, and cosplaying is my favorite thingto do
I cosplay alot and what's funny I have like....15 cosplays alredy and Halloween is so difficult...UHH YHE CHOICES
alois trancy ...when your profile is alois... YAAASS IN LOVEE
If you see someone who is so happy and passionate on what they become and what they are doing.. DONT F*CKING JUDGE THEM. Simple as that, let the happy that is pouring out of them, be poured out

Wait what?
Nanase Haruka HARU-CHAN AND MAKO-CHAN ERMEGERD ASDFGHJKL
Nanase Haruka ME TOO!
I think buzzfeed should do more stuff about cosplay as not a lot of people know what it is
S GeoList yes they should. I have to explain cosplay so much to my friends.
Ever since I was little, I loved wearing costumes. I always wished Halloween came multiple times a year so I could go out dressed as whoever or whatever and not be an outsider while doing so. Then a little over a year ago I discover cosplay...and my dream came true.
I cosplay because it's something I love and I for once feel like I _belong_ somewhere, like that is where and who I'm meant to be
"Why do you cosplay?" Umm I dont. But, I like the idea of it. Its like halloween but less cliche. It also lets you be who you want. For example, a badass red adidas storm trooper, or some anime character you have a passion for. But the sluttiness levels are all the same.(the last part was a joke dont be mad)
I swear that Red Adidas Storm Trooper is at like very con I go to! xD
Online Renaissance Give him a high five for meh
Josh Sure thing lol.
Online Renaissance I want you... to kiss him for me.... *HARD* and with tong make them gasp for air and cry....sorry
Doajo Hicks Now that's something I'll definitely do! xD
Damn that was an amazing alois cosplay😍😍 I've never seen one that good😍
The one at 2:51
+NightcoreDivision Dude, right? The eyes looked so perfect and they just embodied him PERFECTLY! Like, some cosplayers have strength in the accuracy, some have strength in originality, but in my opinion, the best is when they just *are* that character.
+NightcoreDivision i was thinking the same thing
Yeah I thought so too!
Oh the fangirl in me is screaming at the cosplays of Grell and Madame Red. And Ciel and Alois were so cute too~! SO MICH AMAZINGNESS!
I cosplay because is my scape from reality.
Shinee Pinee "scape"
I want to cosplay so badly but I can't make a costume for shit.
you can buy stuff online :)! Save some money to buy a cosplay at first and then try to make a simple cosplay with help :) that's what I did ^^!
Neko Chamallow That's exactly what I'm gonna do.... when I find a job. T_T My parents would never buy a costume for me. Dressing up is so much fun. The day I cosplay will be a childhood dream fulfilled.
AppeasingPoet poor you :( my grand parents gave me money for my birthday so i use it to buy stuff for cosplay :) or I ask for some stuff for my birthday. My parents are ok with it. Poor you :(
Neko Chamallow Thanks. I'll get the chance someday. :) Until then, have even more fun doing it for my sake. ^_^
AppeasingPoet I'll give you news ;p~! If you want to see my cosplays x3! I start with simple ones so :)
Lemme tell you guys about my first experience at a con.
Though I was excited, I was afraid of looking bad, and being judged for how I looked.
I was eridan, from homestuck (yes I was homestuck trash hey) and I was especially nervous because people didn't seem to like the character I was as well. And let me tell you, that was not the case. I was asked hugs, and the people were easier to talk to. The panels were fun, and there were especially funny moments where other characters involved with what I cosplayed as interacted with me in certain ways. I got pretty much showered in compliments and nice people. I was not expecting this, and man, seeing all of the amazing cosplays were great. It was really different from my norm.
It boosted my confidence up, everyone was so nice, I started to feel way better about myself. If you think you can't cosplay because you're too fat, too skinny, black or any reason, you can. JUST DO IT
I also used gray paint, because of my skin color. Now I'm out doing final fantasy and anime cosplay, without worry. This was just my experience :) so ye s'prettt cool.
+Wolves Forever you can go alone and talk to others :3 you can do it! I did it too
Thank you so much for this! I was planning to cosplay Jake English, from Homestuck ( hehe ), and I've been worrying about the same things as you! But this really upped my self esteem! So thank you! MUCH HUGS - hugs -
Hey! I was a Homestuck character for my first con too! I was Rainbow Drinker Kanaya though. There was actually a Meulin cosplayer who followed me around just to ask me to take a picture! :D
That mikasa cosplayer, legit tho
Kira I know right?
I think cosplaying is a wonderful art and I think it's amazing Peaple put in so much work into something
Alysha Kelly It's Amazing. 😂😂
It's sad to see all of the hateful and rude comments about cosplayers, people who watch anime, and otakus.
Can you not.
I've openly cosplayed at school before. It was amazing to see and hear the the negative feedback just because I looked different than everybody else.
I have a friend who cosplays at school too, sometimes. People stare at her like: "She's so weird, why does she wear that? Freak." And I'm just thinking: "Well excuse _her_ for not conforming to your boring styles of conventionality! Now go on and wear your leggings and crop tops while obsessing about how great pretty little liars is. Freaks."
Alex Cieszynski Lol, who'd you cosplay as at school? That would've been great to see in person. Cosplay should become a fashion trend and a societal norm.
OtakuWho b...but i like pretty little liars... :(
OtakuWho Wow, what a hypocrite. It's perfectly fine to be angry at people forcing standards on others, but it's really stupid for you to get angry at people who DO follow those standards. Whether a girl wears cosplay or crop tops, whether a girl watches Sailor Moon or Pretty Little Liars - they're doing what they want to do. Critizing a girl for being like the rest of the crowd is just as bad as critizing a girl for being different.
I want to cosplay, but I don't have the money, talent, genitals, or materials to do it.
I would REALLY love to cosplay Fem!Scout from TF2 but...uhh... i'm transexual so.... >.>
There's just something hilarious (and awesome and appropriate) about no face riding the bus. Love it!
I now have a sudden urge to cosplay
i would cosplay as someone from AoT but... im african american..... cosplay is a wonderful and awesome thing to me. mad respect goes out to people who spend a year or two making this cosplays, like those exact replicas of stuff you see in animes or video games; thats absolutely amazing
Yea I went to Katsucon and I saw a darker skinned Maka Albarn. No one really cares all too much about skin color
If I saw no face (I think that's the name of the creature) coming towards me I'd be freaked out cause that fucker ate everyone!
Yeah that's his name- but he ends up nice!
So he still ate everyone!
***** But he spits them out in the end XD
I know but trust was lost ;_;
He just wanted to be sins (idk if that's how you spell it) friend and thought if he was more human she would be friends with him
I cosplay and I don't have any precise reason. It just came naturally, as a part of me that slowly blossomed. I am still young but I want to continue, what I did up to now made me happy, it felt magical to completely created something from A to Z that you can't find anywhere. It is relaxing and really complimenting
SPIRITED AWAY HOLY MOTHER I LOVE THAT MOVIE
I love Anime, and i really want to cosplay anime characters, but unfortunately i'm black, and there is a limited amount of my fav anime characters who are black or coloured.....i like to be precise, when do u see a black naruto, or sasuke, or goku....guess im going to have to go for Afro ninja next year like always -.-
There's black guys in Naruto and Soul Eater
Lmfao!!! I nearly fell out of my chair reading this xD
Well, you could put some makeup on to brighten yourself up if it bothers you that much^_____^
I'd love to see a black Goku though tbh
you could be darui from naruto lol
Don't let your race stop you from cosplaying. I've seen some wonderful cosplays and it doesn't matter who you are or what your race is. Just pick a character you like and work at it.
You could be Sado from Bleach and he's pretty badass
WHO ELSE SAW THE SIMPSON TITAN
Bailey Vine HE'S THE BEST
BlueDust I think that was my favourite cosplay out of all of the ones I saw
Hell yeah !
I did! It's awesome! :D
Scarlett Lane yeah it is! XD
If I ever get the opportunity to cosplay, I would LOVE to go do laundry in my costume
The best thing about going to conventions while in cosplay is that everyone shares the passion with you and it is just magical
I fan-girled when saw all of the Kuroshitsuji(Black Butler) Cosplay!!! XDDD
+Claude Faustus Same! xD
+Claude Faustus the alois cosplay was on point
Same :)
Same
same
I love cosplay (haven't yet cause I can't afford it and don't know how to sew but am determined to learn how) but there's bullies everywhere, even in the cosplay community. I've witnessed people in the cosplay community (online) discriminate against others because of their disabilities or weight and discriminate against people who choose to buy their cosplays. Let people cosplay and have fun with it instead of being judgemental. People are so superficial, doesn't matter what fandom you're a part of but there's bullies and shallow people in every fandom unfortunately.
where do I start.....I want to do cosplay.😞
Me too! I'm raising money to cosplay Chihiro out of Dangan Ronpa. I have about 80-90 dollars to go 😊
You could start by taking sewing classes! Many middle schools and high schools offer classes as part of your schedule!
Aurora Lynn Arington My schools don't offer those kinds of programs sadly :(
+Jodi Novak Small That sucks! Maybe a nearby craft store has a few classes open.
So do i
THAT ALOIS WAS SO PRETTY
and really, the anime community has the nicest people what I've experienced.
Grell and Madam Red at 2:44! Wow, they both look amazing!
I loved the No Face costume. Very creative ^_^
Cosplay and anime is such a popular concept here where I live and its community has grown so much every year. I'm really glad to be living in a place where even something like this is well respected~
Great video! :D I really love the cosplay scene and I find it soo inspiring to go on conventions, meeting all these wonderful and crazy human beings :)
HAPPY COSPLAYING EVERYONE!
This would be fine in my opinion if someone did for fun, but some people doing it to escape reality? Just because they feel insecure, they run away from that insecurity? That's not an achievement, or a good thing at all. This isn't even meant to be a hateful comment either, but I'm sure some people are gonna take this the wrong way anyways.
One thing to add to my point, running away isn't going to solve anything. It's only going to delay your problems. These people should do something, because they CAN fix it.
Running away from a problem is never good, no matter the outlet you choose, but cosplay can help people over come insecurities. I know cosplayers that were victims of abuse, and cosplay helped them gain confidence with themselves again. People help each other with outfit ideas, they wanna be in photos with you at the cons, and your costume gives you a great way to start a conversation. It's never good to simply hide, but sometimes hiding in a place you feel safe can help you regroup and recharge.
My sister and I are both cosplayers. We have confidence in ourselves and I'd say a healthy level of self-esteem. We cosplay for fun, but what I've noticed is that cosplaying makes us feel much more confident. So perhaps this is a stepping stone for those people with low self-esteem. Maybe this is the first step in addressing their insecurities and perhaps gaining a normal level of confidence.
They're not doing it to escape reality, they are entering a community where they can truly be themselves and express themselves to people who share the same type of things that they like. They're exposing themselves to new relationships and friendship through their passion, and that's the beauty of it. They don't have to hide it. They can embrace it.
I don't feel that they cosplay to RUN AWAY exactly; but they use it as a way to make them comfortable with interacting with people again. When you're a kid everyone is judgmental and when you try to be yourself you get ostracized by people that don't understand your interest. I can personally say that even interests that aren't "weird" get you ostracized and it makes you want to hide yourself or hide your interest because you want to be "normal" and fit in and make friends like everyone else. These people cosplay because they get to be themselves and people don't judge them for it; and in fact embrace it and encourage them with genuine praise. This can help them get comfortable with interacting with people outside of conventions. I cosplay because it's just fun to work on a project and act a little bit famous at a convention where people take pictures and ask questions.
If you are hot with a great costume you are awesome
If you are ugly and fat don't cosplay as a skinny/sexy character
YAY! I saw Black Butler cosplay! This year I am going as Mey Rin!
I do both cosplay and crossplay, and I love it so much that me and my Girlfriend both do it. I so love the Cosplay community because being part of it is amazing and making friends but also meeting new people is one of the best parts of cosplay. #cosplay #crossplay #cosplaycommunity
THAT GRELL COSPLAY THOUGH TAT ITS SO GOOODD!!!!!!!
IKR!!! AND MADAM RED TOO~!!!
Ikr!
Ahhhhh, I love this community! X3
(And whoops found myself an Ed Cosplayer...)
Now I see it. The automail should have been an obvious then
Lightning Alchemist Heheheh yeah. :3
I couldn't even see what the hell I was writing then... I guess it made some sense though
Lightning Alchemist XD
Zakuro Hughes WHERE IS IT??? I saw a cosplayer that I think is pride at 3:17 but I could just be dumb
I have to agree with what she says. The cosplay community is so supportive and I absolutely LOVE seeing all the blood, sweat and tears put into a single costume. I can't wait to attend AX next year!
That man in the Totoro suit!!~ xD
He was beautiful!!~
All of these were beautiful!
WHO ELSE SAW GRELLE AND MADAM RED?
+Sofia K Also Ciel and Alois
Kittykat Kara Yasss
Well that were right in front of the camera so it's wouldn't be hard to see them...
Yessss
YES
For people who keep commenting on how people who cosplayers need to " move on and get a life",you really need to get over yourselves . When people find joy in doing something they will keep doing that so they can feel confident and satisfied (etc.). Going to a convention is something that is extremely hard to explain to someone who has never been before . When I went to my first convention I felt so much acceptance and happiness that i can't even find in my own family . I Am not asking you to go to a convention but at least respect us enough to not comment hate on us because I don't know about other people , but already get enough bullshit from people around me and I certainly don't need you speak bad about things i love .
Same ! I have a long list of characters I wanna cosplay and I usually make my own costumes which saves me a ton of money
I cosplay and i LOVE doing it because when you spend a year on your costume people say your wasting you life on something stupid but the moment when I walk through those doors I find everyone like me coming out from their rock and showing everyone what they have been working on
When I go to conventions, the best feeling in the world is when someone notices who your cosplaying as. Also it's amazing to see people cosplaying as your favorite characters and taking pictures with them. For those who haven't gone to conventions, I highly recommend it. There's just this amazing feeling of being surrounded by nerds like you and talking about geeky stuff
My heart went pitter-patter at 2:34!!! ATTACK ON TITAN 4 EVER
+Hannah DeCourcey 2:27 That Levi cosplay tho XD
I'm still waiting for season 2
To all you people who are hating against Cosplay...
Why hate? How does it effect you personally? If they want to dress up and act like their favourite anime character, so be it. It's their life and it makes them happy. Can't you just be happy that these Cosplayers are happy, instead of being sad, depressed, self concious, etc? They have the right to be who they are, and don't hold that against them. Everybody is beautiful and unique in their own way! So stop hating on them and mind your own buisness!
For anyone wondering, no, I do not Cosplay, but I support Cosplay characters in every single way. I fact, I think Cosplay is sooo cool, and I would love to meet a Cosplayer!
I SAW SO MANY PEOPLE COSPLAY AS MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS FROM MY FAVORITE ANIMES!!!
They were all awesome! Cosplaying looks like a lot of fun... I'd love to try it out sometime!
No Face from Spirited Away and Solana from Pokémon Ranger I believe. I also saw Celty from DRRR! Link from LoZ, Characters from the Mario franchise, Sailor Moon, Luffy from One Piece, Attack on Titan, Ichigo from Bleach, Madame Red and Grell, cross-dressing Ciel and Alois from Black Butler, of course some Star Wars with a red Stormtrooper with the Adidas logo on them and a dapper looking Bobba Fett, Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid, Dragon Ball Z, I believe Yuno Gasai from Future Diary, Yu-Gi-Oh(?), Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Cloud from Final Fantasy.
Finally, a video I can get behind! I love cosplaying for many reasons. It's a unique hobby with a lot of different parts- makeup, costumes, photography, film....
Also loved that I recognized some of my fandoms! (Black Butler, Durarara!!, Attack on Titan, etc.)
these people just have to get into the society and all they do with these costumes is getting weirder than they actually are
And there 's something wrong with being weird? Thousands of people go to cons, it seems they match weirdness and form what we call 'friendships' or even 'relationships'. We are young at heart, we are creative, we are stronger then we think. Sometimes humans should show just a little more humanity, then perhaps we can live in a world that is less scary.
They would if they could..
Try to understand

Jean J Everybody can, when he wants. When you think that everybody hates you, you cant get in contact with other people.
They are getting into a society, one that actually welcomes them for who they are. Plus, those societies don't include dillweeds like you c;
Thank you so much for this video. This really puts my own feelings into words! Costumes and dressing up are so much fun and so many people don't really understand, how helpful for happiness and friendship and confidence, cosplay can be.
2:44 those madam red and grell cosplays are AMAZING
This is exactly why I cosplay! And I don't regret cosplaying at all! ^^
***** Duh. xD
***** xD
***** I've already been too one. xD Super fun, actually!! Pictures with people, and won a contest. ^^ It's enjoyable!!
***** Yeah. If you visit me, we can go with a couple of my friends. ^^
***** XDDD
I don't like anime that much, but I love Spirited Away (movie from which the guy was dressed as). It's such a good movie.
You should watch the other Ghibli movies if you haven't already. :)
***** I have seen a few. They are all really good.
This makes me so emotional because I'm a cosplayer and I often get judge by some of my friends and family. In a convention though, everyone is so supportive in this community. No one feels left out as long as your doing what you love.
You do not understand how happy this video makes me! Cosplay is a community, you meet new people who like things you like, you can become a character. I am not very confident but when I go to comic-con in my cosplay I feel amazing. Even though the comic - con close to me is not very big, I still love it! I don't care if people call me an obsessed nerd, I embrace it. Everyone should embrace the things they love :D
2:45 MADAME RED AND GRELL OMG
DID YOU SEE CIEL AND ALOIS TOO?
Ashy Dear My little brother was Ciel
The cosplay are so well done :D
They were so awesome!
I got on the tube dressed as No-Face on my way to a convention and the cutest little girl dressed as Chihiro sat next to me, looking at her mother with nothing but happiness in her eyes.
This Is Why I Cosplay.
Honestly cosplay is just really fun
2:18 shoutout to the Noragami Cosplay
Omg yes! I didn't even notice thanks
Yas!
Yato! I didn't even see him lol
This is for all those people who are telling themselves that they're too socially awkward, socially anxious, or introverted to cosplay and go to conventions:
Trust me, I am insanely shy and socially anxious. Whenever i'm in public i always start shaking uncontrollably and sometimes I even tear up and have to go to the bathroom every five minutes to calm myself down. But trust me when I say that once you put on that cosplay of your favourite character ever, and set that wig on your head, you change as a person. I've been cosplaying for over a year now and honestly, from the moment you put that cosplay on, you're no longer anxious or afraid. You transform INTO that character, and you just can't help but act like whoever you're cosplaying. People in the convention center come up to you and ask for selfies with you, pictures of you, and sometimes even hugs from you. When people notice you as the character you're cosplaying, sometimes people will even shout the name of you're character from across the convention hall and wave to you, and then come running after you and ask for a selfie or a hug or something. After experiencing this for even just a few minutes, you start to realise that at conventions you really do have the chance to change into somebody else for a day. You transform into the character you're cosplaying, and after seeing people ask for selfies with you, photos of you, people asking you to say your characters most famous quotes, you really do start to change, and start to realise that those people are so so so happy to see you. Then after your first convention is over, you get addicted to seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they see you -and end up spending over $500 on buying and making more cosplays-
I see a lot of comments "this is sad" "has nothing to do with self esteem" Mkay, shhhh. Listen babies, I cosplay because of comments like that.
"It's a problem." "Waste of time."
Okay, so let me just be someone else for a while. It'll give me a break from myself. Helps me clear my head from people bullying me.
It's a lot of fun, too. I get a lot of compliments for my Joker and Loki cosplay. A lot of people are in character, I'm almost always in character as soon as I put the costume on.
Remember when you were a kid and you dressed up as a cowboy ot a princess just because? We've still got that childish characteristic that keeps us fun.
~Harley
Why I love to cosplay because I love to dress up. Cosplay is basically Halloween for me just without the trick or free candy part. We get treats though not for free but they are still awesome especially taking photos or getting toyrbphoti taken. I also get to escape the real world for a day n be someone else! I love cosplaying! People who make fun of us don't understand who hard it is to cosplay and how awesome it is!
i know this is like 2 years old but it is still so beautiful! as a cosplayer i can see where these two are coming from and i'm happy it makes them happy as it does for many others. :)
